The third book from bonsai artist Harry Harrington, 'Bonsai Basics: The Foundations of Bonsai' is based on the e-book 'Bonsai Basics'. 'Bonsai Basics: The Foundations of Bonsai', will arm those new to bonsai, as well as experienced enthusiasts still using outdated techniques, with a solid foundation of knowledge. And this will enable them to successfully keep their bonsai alive and healthy, through very simple practices, and continue to enjoy, what for many that practice the Art, is a life-long passion. This book contains 23 chapters of information essential to keeping bonsai successfully. Subjects covered include indoor and outdoor bonsai, watering, bonsai tools, bonsai soils, detailed photo-guides to repotting and root-pruning, fertilizing, styling and pruning. All written from the personal experiences of an experienced, professional bonsai artist, over the course of nearly 15 years.
Outstanding resource blows everything else out of the water
This book is for people who really want to learn about bonsai in all the detail that is needed to be successful. Harry Harrington shares a wealth of invaluable information and dispels quite a few long held myths. Anyone serious about bonsai needs this book and its companions. His website is an amazing resource too.
Great coverage of all the fundamentals. Possibly nothing much new for experienced practitioners, but very solid and contemporary advice, considering how many other bonsai books seem badly dated.
