Wesley Reese is a shy college student with a problem, he's crushing on the librarian Scotty Fuller. When Wesley ask him out he knows that he needs more and he is not sure that Wesley is that man. Scotty believes that being in control is the key to not being hurt again. He also tries to keep his relationships with his subs at arms length, because letting them get too close can also lead to disappointment. When Scotty tries to bring Wesley into the lifestyle he seems willing in the beginning, but can they overcome all the things that threaten there relationship. This was a good read the sex scenes where hot. Scotty was a very caring Dom and I liked that when reading BDSM. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I have read this author before and I am looking forward to reading more books from her.
Okay story - I like the premise very much ~ young college student dared to ask the hot older librarian out only to find out they are both exactly what the other was looking for - even though they weren't looking. Scotty has a tragic past and that is explained a bit which - although it isn't a nice storey at least it explains why his is the way he is. There is not much to Wesley's character. Scotty and Wesley are cute together and draw each other out of their lives - but note - there are dark parts of the storey. The ending left a LOT to be desired - it just sort of stopped with no real wrap up.
Some aspects of this story were great, and others missed the mark. I really enjoyed the D/s interactions between Scotty and Wesley. I think that 'Scotty' is the least dominant name ever! I felt zero emotional connection to either character, and felt that they had next to none between them. I did not, at all, like the sexual role reversal scene. The ending...no.
I was going to give this book more stars until the end. And I'm siting with the "Where is the rest" feeling. Ok so it was a kinda HEA, but what about the rest. If there is a second book with Dustin's story it might work but still where is the rest...
Dictionary.com defines cherish as “the act of treating something or someone with affection and tenderness. It involves embracing with interest, indulging, encouraging, and nurturing with care.” Everyone deserves to be cherished. We all need someone in our lives to give us unconditional love and acceptance. Scotty Fuller of 'Cherished' by Sara York, does not want to be cherished because he believes that he doesn't deserve it. Hopefully, he can learn to forgive himself and open up enough to let someone in.
Scotty doesn't do relationships; he thinks that there's no need because once a person gets to know him, they will leave. Scotty can't endure the subsequent pain so he keeps up his shields and doesn't get involved in the first place. Scotty has an unreasonable need to be in control at all times, both physically and emotionally. It's his way of managing his lurid past of abuse. He has never revealed his past to anyone. This seems to be working until he meets Wesley whose sincerity and honesty blows Scotty away; it has him questioning his rules. When he accepts a date with Wesley, he formulates a plan to get him out of his life as quickly as possible which involves taking him to a BDSM club, reasoning that if Wesley can't deal with his lifestyle, then he can't be in Scotty's life. It is really a cruel thing to do, but at this point, Scotty doesn't care. He's used to treating the men he's with like objects for his pleasure. Wesley's horrified reaction tells Scotty all he needs to know except, instead of making his decision to dump Wesley easier, it makes it infinitely harder because he's never known anyone as open as Wesley is. Almost immediately, he realizes that Wesley deserves so much more and begins to yearn for a way to keep him instead. When a crisis occurs, it shows Scotty how precious Wesley is and how much he is willing to compromise to make him happy.
Wesley is adorable, cute, sweet, and naive. He's attracted to Scotty and, on a dare, asks him out on a date. He has no idea how controlling and cold Scotty can be, but he likes him and tries to impress him. His reaction in the club broke my heart and made me want to beat Scotty to a pulp. My only satisfaction came from the fact that Scotty realizes what a great guy Wesley is and regrets bringing him there. Wesley doesn't know how far much he can take of what Scotty obviously wants to dish out, especially in bed, and is miserable trying to sort it all out. He doesn't understand how Scotty can treat him so badly and seem to want him around at the same time. He knows that there are things Scotty is holding back and is discouraged by his lack of trust. Wesley finally gets to the point that he simply can't do some of the things Scotty expects. He's disappointed, but has to be honest with himself. Even when Scotty professes his love and need for Wesley, it still doesn't change the fact that they seem to be incompatible. It becomes a matter of possibly being too little too late.
This is a complicated character-driven story about two men who seem to be opposites, but are inexplicably drawn to each other. Their journey toward that goal is littered with pitfalls which seem to be insurmountable, but they keep trudging on. It's a story of self-discovery and growth as each man struggles to find who they are and what they need. There are some disturbing situations and unexpected occurrences which kept me wondering what would happen next. If you like to read fluff, this is not it, but if you like a complex, thought-provoking tale with lots of angst, action, indecision, and tragedy, then this book may be for you. Thanks, Sara, for the intense story.

And unsure what to do next. This one has some BDSM, but it has far more unsure love relations that can make taking the next step, if not restrained, even harder and more emotionally stressful. Love is not an object that you can hug, miss, and even cherish; love is an ever changing link between people (and even animals) that adapts constantly to changes of the situation and the heart. Love has many levels, strengths, and confusions that are what make love the most challenging, frustrating, and wonderful blended emotion that can build up or destroy relationships. It is never boring and cannot be successfully ignored. Often the longer you avoid love, the stronger it gets. But when it can be respectfully be enjoyed by all appropriate parties, it can be an overwhelming blessing to all. This book outlines the struggles of a small group of friends and acquaintances and shows the potential good and bad situations that can develop in an instant, and how love an influence the results. I do not care for BDSM by experience and by choice, but I can recognise the need and desire it holds for some. This book does a good job of providing multiple viewpoints without insisting that it is right for everyone.
I loved this story. Wesley and Scotty both meet at a time when both are looking for something they didn't know existed. I love how Scotty was able to learn to love trust and give up control to Wesley. I loved how Wesley learn to love trust and work through his fear. Weekly's caring towards others melted my heart. I found this love story filled with romance sex and turmoil fun to read. Wesley and Scotty stole my heart. I highly recommend this rollercoaster of book
I really enjoyed this book. I think that it needs a second book to get a story for Dustin and to get an ending for what happened to Aaron. Is he caught, will he try to take out Dustin or Wesley? I would definitely buy a second book to get some answers. I really hope to get a second story.

By far my favorite book by Sara York. I wish the ending was tied up neater with no loose ends, but maybe there will be a sequel. If you like books with bdsm overtones you will definitely enjoy this book.
I enjoyed the story but felt it was incomplete. How can they allow Jesse to be murdered without bringing justice in the story? Or having Dustin have some sort of recovery? I was disappointed in the ending.

Finding someone that makes you feel whole can be a hard thing to do. And sometimes it happens when you least expect it. A good read. Dark, but sweet and sexy as well. Some violence.
Fantastic Read, Scotty works in a Library and all so a Dom sets eyes on a young collage student, Wesley. But with a bad past Scotty has to control everything and everyone.. Thinking Wesley is a Sub takes him to a club for their first date, things don't go smoothly for them attracting some bad attention from other Dom. Miss York is a wonderful story teller that's gets you involved in the book.. Highly recommend read..
This is a hit or miss author for me. This was a miss. I wish Scotty's past would have been explained a lot sooner in the book. I didn't get any connection between Wesley and Scotty until late in the book and BAM. Book over. To many things were left in the air. Would like to read Dustin's story.
