*Those sexy, wild, hard-loving triplets are back! *
From bestselling author Cora Brent, the Gentry saga continues with plenty of action, plenty of sex, and of course those fierce yet lovable alphas, the Gentry boys.
They all said we were trash and would end up dead or in prison. They were wrong. The three of us brothers endured hell together and somehow climbed out battle-scarred but whole. We are no longer the ferocious boys who punched our way through terrible days and went to bed hungry every night. Now we've got love, we've got hope, and we've got each other. But in order to hold on to everything that matters, we'll need to confront the vicious demons of the past...one last time.
I'm a huge fan of insta-love , grunge era flannel, my vintage Kenmore sewing machine, embroidered dishcloths and absolutely everything that has to do with 1980s pop culture (i.e. leg warmers, scrunchies, big hair, early Madonna, boom boxes, wood paneled walls, stonewash jeans, etc).
If you believe in Happily Ever After and improbable love stories, chances are I'll love you too!!
A continuation into the lives of all the Gentry men, the women that stole their hearts and some next generation Gentrys. Free at time of purchase. Recommend reading in order or you just won't feel that connection to the characters if you start with this book.
Review by Natasha Gentile *Those sexy, wild, hard-loving Gentry triplets are back! *
With that sentence I send Cora a message expressing my love for these boys. You can say I’ve been there from the start so they hold a special place in my heart. I have practically seen then grow into men.
They all said we’d never amount to more than the violent trash we came from. They were wrong.
Were they ever wrong! You see Cord, Creed and Chase have beaten the odds and have not only succeeded but they’ve found love to go along with it.
The three of us endured hell together and somehow climbed out battle-scarred but whole.
They are no longer the crazy ferocious boys who battled their way through the most horrible days that made them go to bed hungry and afraid.
Now they have love, they have hope and most of all they still have each other. Their future is bright. But in one single moment they are taken back, back to where the nightmares started. Back to where they said they would never go.
They still have one more fight left. It might be the biggest one of their lives. It is coming back with all the demons from the past, but as long as they have each other...
With this book we got what we have all been begging for -the insight to their future. The insight into what happens after she typed The end.
What it also did was give us two more Gentry boys that we are rooting for. More questions, more time, more Gentry's and I for one can’t wait!
This is the 5th installment in the Gentry Boys series. I so enjoyed returning to the Gentry’s world! This story focuses on their lives four years down the road.
Cora Brent is a remarkable author and she’s in a class by herself. Her books never fail to bring me lot of amazing emotions. She manages to achieve in few words exactly what was intended. To make the reader feel, fall in love, laugh, swoon and most of all she takes the reader away to that happy place where pure indulgence can be devoured.
The Gentry Boys captured my heart from the very beginning. They grabbed it and didn't let go. I absolutely love the bond the triplets Cordero, Creedence, Chasyn and their cousin Declan share and the purity of the love they have for one another is so incredible my heart is still pounding away. More than ever they still have each other's backs. Each of them has a special place in my heart and I adore the way they absolutely idolized their women.
I can’t wait to read the next two books in the series Cross (Gentry Boys #6) & Edge (Gentry Boys #7). Hopefully it will be the stories of the young cousins Stone and Conway Gentry. And maybe, just maybe we will get the one of the charismatic and dangerous Michael Bransky (Stephanie’s brother).
This book and the entire series were incredibly emotional, intense, and steamy. A gripping story from start to finish I highly recommend.
I swear this series just gets better and better and better! This was my favorite book of the series so far!
This book has all three triplets in it and I loved catching up with them and their families. Every one of them has something huge going on in their lives and I couldn't get enough!
And of course, we are introduced to Conway and Stone Gentry in this book, and their first meeting with the triplets had me laughing. The Gentry triplets were getting a taste of their own medicine with these two!
Can't give away any spoilers, but like I said Creed and Truly were dealing with trying to get pregnant when an unexpected surprise makes them parents immediately. Chase and Stephanie were dancing around the "marriage" situation and then had a surprise for themselves! And Cord and Saylor were enjoying their twin girls (whom I love). Even Deck and Jenny were moving along and living happy lives.
But not everything was rosy in their lives. And when the shit hit the fan, I was so upset for all of them. I was definitely teary-eyed a few times in this book, and in the end, the situation with Conway and Stone absolutely broke my heart!
Moving onto Cross now because I need to know how things work out with Con and Stone even though I know it's gonna hurt real bad!
WOW. If you (like I) have read the other books in the Gentry Boys series and fallen in love/ lust with Cordero, Creedence, Chasyn or Declan Gentry, then you are in for the BEST book ever. I don't want to give away anything so I'll just tell you how frickin' much I adored this book. I bawled my eyes out at certain points when reading paragraphs like
- It hurt to hear him quietly admit that he was afraid of the truth. Afraid that maybe the girl he loved didn't want the same things he wanted. -
But despite the massive amount of heartstrings that miss Cora Brent yanked out throughout the story, my heart is soaring with joy right now, because I effing loved it!
5 GORGEOUS GENTRY BOY STARS Having loved the Gentry Boys Series, this was a perfect read to consolidate the stories of Cord, Creed and Chase plus there was a little reminder of the gorgeousness of Deck too. We are also introduced to their cousins, Con and Stone. Good God......there is no end to the hotness in this family. Now, Con and Stone are both going to have quite the story to tell. I'm really excited to read both their books. This was a really beautifully written story. Cora Brent is one of my go-to authors when I want characters that are solid, layered and brilliantly crafted. If you want a story that flows and character dynamics that truly make you warm to them and feel all the emotions, then read this series. It's one of my all time favourites ....and there is more to come. Multiple POV Fab ending
What a great book, and I just love the triplets. Cord and Saylors relationship is just what a relationship should be. They seem to be the o es that all the others go to for advice or just to talk. I like how the author does each of the triplets viewpoints are shown. This family has been through so much, even as they were going through helll most of their young lives they managed to fight through all of that adversity to build lives that are meaningful and productive. They show a great sense of famiky and togetherness and that is shown throughout the book and even more so when tradgey strikes. They deal with the grief, and the unknown together and they look out for all.of their family. A very good book amd looj forward to the next.
Love those Gentry boys! Yet another hit in my book. Revisiting these guys and their loves was such a treat. I adore how much they appreciate their lives after the mess they dealt with growing up. It goes to show you that no matter what, your choices determine your life not where you come from. I highly recommend this entire series! I am assuming maybe the next two books are about Conway and Stone. Can't wait to find out
Cora Brent! I'm so glad I run blind into this amazing and wonderful written series of yours. This is rare, that with every following book the writing style and storyline is gettin better and better.Just amazing! And Chase the junior of the triplets ;-))) is now on my favorite male hero shelf! He's awesome, hot, sexy and funny as hell. He's got a big and loving heart I really loved his character. The next book is already on my kindle and can't wait for Stone and Con.Jeez what a mess this two created!!
I absolutely love the way Cora Brent wrote this in all 3 perspectives. I love this series and the 'Gentry Boys'. I can't wait to see what happens in the remaining stores!
This is the 5th installment in the Gentry Boys series.
This is the story continued of the Gentry Triplets. The story is told in all three boys point's of view. We join the guys around 3 years later. Cord is happily married and very much still in love with Saylor and their twin girls. Creed is still causing a storm in the bar scene singing and playing guitar. He as well is still blissfully happy with Truly and they are trying for a baby. Chase is still besotted with Steph and is working up to asking her to marry him so they too can have their forever. We also see a little of Deck and Jenny who are traveling the world. All three however have an odd feeling that something bad is going to happen. That something is going to bring down all their hard work at getting a happy life. Of course something happens i'm not gonna spoil it and say what just read it and find out!
Well... i don't wanna be too gushy but... OMG i just loved it!!!!!!!! I loved seeing how happy and well all three brothers are doing. They have their struggles too but overall i was so happy to see them again!!! Obviously this story isn't all moonlight and roses. They have a very big event happen that takes them back to the place they hate the most.... Emblem. I hated to see the turmoil this trip brings them and a few times i felt myself welling up with tears for what they were having to deal with. While there we meet two new Gentry's so it's not all bad! I'm so excited to find out more about Con and Stone, younger cousins of the guys. Their story has started pretty rubbish to be honest and i'm waiting impatiently to make sure they're ok!!!
But... the thing with this story... the thing that had me blubbing like a baby?? Was the love of the brothers which absolutely hit me straight in the heart!!!! awwwwwww my boys!!!!!!!!!! the love they have for each other, the bond they share, the struggles they have had to face and have overcome all came bubbling to the surface in this book and boy did Cora make you feel every bit of the pain they had been through but then she hit you with the love they had for each other and their little families. I finished this book with the biggest soppiest smile on my face ever!!! If i wouldn't have accidentally deleted this book from my Kindle in doing so i would have hugged the hell outta it!!!
I can't recommend this book highly enough!! i wanna tell the world to read it just to give everyone a big soppy smile!!
I loved this little wrap up for the Gentry triplets!
All three couples had to tackle a new obstacle in their lives; some a little bigger than others. All three couples got the chance to show how they've matured & grown these past few years; which only served to prove why we love them so much. And all three couples had a beautiful HEA; I mean, like SUPER-SWEET individual HEAs.
The brothers also got to close a horrible, no-good, rotten door to their past... FINALLY. I was anxious for them when they went back to Emblem but felt so relieved when they left for the last time! (Well, for now anyways.)
I wasn't expecting the newly revealed (to us & the triplets) branch to the Gentry family tree but I can already see a couple of GREAT stories in the works! All that angst & heartache is still giving me the feels. Bring on Stone & Conway's stories!
I think I am in agreement with many others who have read this book that the first third felt very much like an extended epilogue. However once things started to move on I really enjoyed catching up with the 3 brothers seeing how they were getting on with their ladies and ever growing families. I loved meeting the next set of Gentry boys too and after the way this book ends I can’t wait to get stuck into Cross.
Fantastic. Simply fantastic epilogue to the Gentry Boys. I liked this book best because we caught up with each of the boys, including Deck. We see them in tbeir new lives and get some closure on outstanding things from previous books. We also get to know the younger cousins mentioned in Fall a little more. I imagine that's where the next books are going.
Seriously, if you've read the Gentry Boys, you can't miss out on Hold. I loved this book!
It was fine. It was in all 3 boys perspectives, so that made it a little harder to follow. But overall there wasn't really a story. Not much happened, but there was quite a bit of closure. It seemed more like something to build a bridge to the next "chapter" of books. The hardest part was with Conway and Stone. That was gut wrenching but also just felt like a blurb. I would be interested to find out what happens with them though.
Up until a good third of the way through the book I was wondering if there was a point to this latest addition to the Gentry Boys series as it seemed to be a long epilogue to close out the three brothers' stories.
Things picked up after that and I actually enjoyed catching up with them again, seeing their commitment to each other, their relationships and family.
wow. i really glad she made this one. that's one of the things i like about this series is even tho it's about one character the other main characters are incorporated. but this one is a life update for all them. crazy sad things happen and happy things. great read. now see what happens to stone and con. poor guys. (cousins they bring in)
Loved it. The story continues on the Gentry Brothers. Loved everyone of them and cousin Deck. You get to meet two new young teenage cousins that was heading the bad boys Gentry. Can't wait to read about them.
Cora Brent’s Gentry Boys series continues to be one of my favorites. As mentioned in previous reviews, my read count is nowhere near correct on here because I have read most of these at least a few times. A couple of them remain on my list of go-to reads for times when I want something I know I already love.
Hold is not a stand alone book. The previous books, Draw, Risk and Game need to be read before this one. The fourth book, Fall is also before this one, chronologically, but I don’t think it’s quite as necessary to read before this one.
This book is told entirely from the POV of our Gentry triplets, Cord, Creed and Chase. I still love these men. They have all found the love of their lives, and are settled down. Each brother is facing changes, and it’s great to see how they are handling everything that is being thrown at them. Ms. Brent is one of the best authors I’ve read when it comes to knowing her characters. Each one of the men has their own distinct voice, which is great when it comes to a book that goes through changing POV’s several times. I didn’t have to look back at the first page of each chapter to see whose story we were getting, it was clear from the narrative.
While I enjoyed the multiple POV, I’m greedy. I would have liked to have heard from our heroines, Sayler, Truly (again, my Queen and the best character in the series, imo) and Stephanie. I missed them. Obviously, they are still a big part of the book, but, again, I’m greedy. I want their POV’s as well as our boys’.
This book also wraps up some of the past for Cord, Creed and Chase, while leading us into Genty’s of the future. It’s here where we are first introduced to Stonewall and Conway Gentry. Stone and Con are Gentry cousins, still living in Emblem. Teenagers who find themselves in need of some help from the cousins they’ve never met. The next books in the series, Walk and Edge are their stories.
My only real complaint is that I felt that we were told the story, rather than shown it. This is narration heavy. I wanted more dialogue between the characters. Most of the story is told through the thoughts of our main characters.
Still, it’s a solid story. I love the way it looked to the past, while bringing the boys into their futures. They deal with a lot, but, as always, they go deal with everything as the brothers they are.
If you’ve read any other of Ms. Brent’s Gentry Boys books, you’re going to want to read this one.
This was a chance for us to revisit the Gentry crew and see what's been happening with the motley crew. Cord and Saylor have been in the family way and it has been a wonderful journey that brought them two beautiful girls and a happy home. Cord is has grown into the father and husband that be wanted to become and it is clear that he is still devoted to Saylor and the girl. Creed and Truly are married and blissfully enrapatured with one another. Creed is still going his music and they are staring to make plans to add in their family unit. Chase and Stephanie are the wildcard as always. Chase has been wanting to pop the question for quite some time, but being a romantic has been waiting on the grand moment instead of just making the move while his girl has been becoming more and more withdrawn and he cannot figure out why. He knows she love him and they seem happy, but she seems dejected and he just wants to make her happy. Then as it always does life throws in curve balls in the form of trouble from Emblem and the boys must face demons from the past. Life is what happens when we are busy making plans.
It's been about 4 years since Cord married Saylor. They are a happy family now with their daughters. Creed is now married to Truly. Chase is going to be moving out of Tempe with Stephanie.
But their lives take a turn when their past comes back to haunt them. The boys need to go back to Emblem finally, for closure.
The story is described from the point of view each brother (Cord, Creed and Chase); How are they doing and what are the changes happening in their lives.
It's a proper continuation of the their story and has a satisfactory end for the readers who love the characters of the Triplets in the series.
The perfect next step for the Gentry triplets and their family!
I can honestly say Cora Brent exceeded my expectations for this book. It not only extended the previous relationships, it created new dynamics and characters for the next books. The true talent was the way she created twists and yet provided justice to the original three.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves alpha males, strong female characters, angst/twists, and a desire for the underdogs to succeed in relationships and careers.
This book was a perfect mix of the brothers' stories and how the have progressed passed the initial "fall in in love" portion of their lives. Sometimes i feel like an epilogue is never enough...that is why so many of us like reading a series versus standalones. I appreciate the way Cora Brent created this book to move the story along, delving deeper and introducing the readers to more lovable characters. Loved it!!
A continuation of the Gentry boys. A mix a comedy and sadness. One tragedy I saw coming the other completely blindsided me. I laughed at loud and shed a few tears. The Gentrys are characters so life like and relatable you can't help but feel their stories. Thank you Cora Brent for another amazing story.
Well the Gentry Guys know how to make you fall for them. Each one is different but similar. If you love brooding men with the I don't care attitude these are your type of books.
