Blah, this book was a snooze fest of epic proportions.
First off the heroine's name is Calypso, um seriously?? All I kept picturing was...
Crew is a manwhore who bangs Vegas dancers every night. Calypso is the neighbor that is kept awake by said banging every night. The book opens with Crew getting a BJ from his previous nights hookup, when a knock comes at his door and he is given a baby that's his from a previous hook up.

Nothing about these two characters was interesting. Together they were as exciting as plain toast. You have some drama about Calyso's past, and you have a cartoon bitch in Crew's mom. Just, I don't know...it's boring. Even the sex wasn't that good. Considering how much of a manwhore the dude was you think it would have been more...exciting?!
Things were just left hanging with no resolution. Like what happened to her bookstore? Did Emme's moms lawyer ever call about signing papers? Who was the chick Calypso was mistaken for in the casino? <--- this scene in the book was just SO random??!! Did they ever use the free suite they were offered?? Inquiring minds want to know!!
If you are having trouble sleeping, then go ahead and give this book a go. I can guarantee you a good nights rest!!

Vegas Baby is an interesting read, which makes me wonder did I like it or not. I picked it up because I'm drawn to Single Dad's, total sucker for them, but this was a different take with a different twist. Single Dad took a less prominent role and it focused more of the mystery of "Calypso." She's a new kind of heroine for me, and he was a total playboy sweetie. Curiosity is what kept me reading, and while I really didn't have no major issues with it, it also didn't leave me with a lasting impression. Good enough to fill in between the books, to switch the pace of my books up.

Oh my. I absolutely loved this! It was exactly what I have been wanting to read - something that's not too deep, tells a great story, shows us a change in the characters.
Crew and Calypso seem like such opposites, but they work so well together. Add in baby Emme, and I melted.

Once again Winter Renshaw has done it. Yet another out of the ballpark addition to her ever growing list of awesome books! ARC generously provided to give a review afterwards. Can’t say enough about how she delivered such a unique storyline a girl who leaves a place called Shiloh Hills and Vegas Poker playing playboy, named Crew and Calypso, love those names, got together and the many hurdles thrown their way.
Calypso has a neighbor she has labeled as the "jackhammer" because do I really need to elaborate, lol lives next door and every night she loses sleep after he gets home from his high stakes poker playing. Her book store is named, the Tipsy Poet.
Crew become insta daddy one day, so playboy lifestyle hits a kink big time then we meet his nothing but helpful and realistic twin, Noelle. So I have to say I’m not sure whether Father Mathias or Crew’s mother left me with more pissed off feelings but both were noteworthy. There are so many layers of the characters and the way she peels back those layers, it just makes you want to read fast as you can to see what happens next.
You'll enjoy reading about how Calypso helps Crew and he returns the favor. Highly recommend!

actually is 3.5 Do you believe it? I connected more with this story than the heartless? it was emotional, interesting and really entertained and it was the bonus story🙄. Well I fond this autor different at others; however, she describing all in the unique manner, so is refresing.

I enjoyed the previous book I read by this author, Stone Cold, I wanted to read another one. I liked this book though not quite as much.
Crew, our hero is living the good life. He’s an attractive and successful gambler living in Vegas. He has his choice of beautiful women and he chooses a lot of them. His current way of living comes to a screeching halt though when one of his previous hook ups shows up at his apartment with a young baby girl, declares he’s the father, she has no intention of being a mother, she has no maternal instincts whatsoever and leaves. Crew is clearly not ready to be a dad but his paternal instincts kick in and he wants to try and be a father. While out picking up everything he will be needing, he stops in a used book store and picks up every parenting book they have and asks if they deliver.
The owner of the store is our heroine, Calypso. Now by coincidence she’s his nearest neighbour and though they haven’t met until now, she’s less than impressed. You see, being popular with the ladies, Crew keeps her awake almost every night with his nocturnal female visitors and their rambunctious activities. She’s even named him Jackhammer. She’s astonished when she learns he’s a single father with seemingly no mother for the baby and she takes pity on him and helps out with his daughter and slowly comes to see a different side to Crew.
I love Calypso. She was raised in a commune that had cult like vibes. She left when the young man she was desperately in love with betrayed her. She chose to live in Vegas as that’s the last place they would ever think to look for her.
I quite enjoyed seeing these two completely opposite people find common ground and become a family. I think Winter Renshaw is an author many people would enjoy. I do.

So this was my first book by this author. It was a light easy read and I love a single dad story. But…..it did have issues. Mostly in the fact that things were brought into the story but never really resolved. Calypso went back home to deal with her family but it fizzled out. I didn’t quite get what she wanted to accomplish by going home. Crew confronted his crappy parents but again I think this needed more development. The oddest thing was the ending. It wrapped up really fast it was kind of like the author had these plot devices going but didn’t know how to resolve them. Crew and Calypso end up together and they talk about how deeply they love the kids involved but never each other. Were they in love or just together because they “LIKED” each other and shit happened? *scratching my head*
I think this author has a lot of potential because she is good at hooking you. I was sucked in right away and kept going, but plot wise this needed help.

Cute and (mostly) lighthearted romance read, but it lacked the depth I was hoping for (and usually hope for in a romance).
Was it me, or did they not once say "I love you" to each other??? Pretty sure that never happened. Not a fan of that lack in a book about love.

The Best Parts:
This novel was very different for me. It has all of the typical aspects of a romance novels, with tons of hilarity, but then there was something else. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something just felt right. The relationship between Crew and Calypso was wonderful to read and the fact that the story is about family for two people who never really had a family.
The style for the writing it great because you see one characters thought up until the pivotal moment and then it switches so that you are able to see all parts as to what is happening. It is also nice to see the guy who is the one helping the girl for once and the fact that there is no judgement in this novel makes it so relatable.
I also love the way Renshaw always puts in tough subjects for her novels and for this one there are a lot, but it doesn’t overwhelm you. With Calypso we have the commune and the miscarriages and with Crew we have a baby out of wedlock, gambling, and going against his parents.
The Worst Parts:
There is only one thing I would have loved to see more of and that was Crew playing poker. It was such a huge part of his life and I know he changed it for Emme, but I would have just like it once for Calypso to see him play. To see him at his finest with something he loved, just like he got to see Calypso.
Final Thoughts:
I couldn’t decipher when reading this book if it was ok for me to be turned on and laughing my ass off at the same time lol. This book makes you feel so good and if you buy it now there is even a little surprise at the end along with a sneak peek at Winter Renshaw’s newest novel coming out next month! <3

Winter strikes again! Another wonderful story from Winter Renshaw :) It never ceases to amaze me how amazing and captivating her stories are and Vegas Baby is no exception. The characters, the story, and the writing in general, from start to finish, all are still swirling around my head.
Calypso isn't your typical heroine. She owns her own used bookstore complete with its own unique twist. She grew up on a commune where 'everyone is family'. And in her short twenty four years on this earth, she has known a special kind of loss. Her worldly innocence and simple ways make her a genuinely good person. She's a great friend to those she meets. But as we learn in the book, get on her bad side and the sweet angel grows some wicked fierce horns!
Crew Forrester is a horse of different colors. He's a notorious ladies man, entrepreneur, son, brother, and...father? His whole life is turned upside down when four month old Emme enters the picture. Gone are the late nights of gambling. Gone are the women. He doesn't know it but the tiny bundle of joy now in his care only shines a light on to the real man that is Crew - a man who sacrifices, a man who is compassionate, and a man who loves.
A random Google search pushes Calypso and Crew together into an eye opening, exciting, and beyond hot and sexy relationship both never thought would or could happen. Vegas Baby by Winter Renshaw a What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas Five-Star read.
This book is a stand-alone full length romance novel with a HEA. Crew Forrester is a Vegas playboy, he plays high stakes poker for a living and can get more show girls than the average casino. Unbeknown to him he has a nicknames “the Jackhammer” by his neighbour as they have a shared wall that his head board lies against. That is until one day his past catches up with him. At 24 he thinks he has a great life. In bed with yet another lovely young lady, a knock at the door changes all that, a baby is landed on his doorstep after a night a little over a year ago had unexpected long-term results. That mean his late night noises his neighbour has been putting up with and causing her insomnia are changing from Jackhammering to baby crying.
The neighbour in question is Calypso owner of a book store bar that has her own problems and could really do with the extra sleep, her past that she has tried to leave behind and an uncertain future are already causing enough insomnia without her neighbour’s late night habits causing more sleep disturbance.
As neighbours they couldn’t be more opposite but as friends they soon realise they have more in common than they realise. As you read all you can wish for is them to take a bet on each other and let the chips lay how they fall.
My favourite quote of the book was “I’ve read your work, and you are a fab writer. No one has a voice like yours. It’s like you have a magnifying glass honed in on the human condition. You notice everything, and you see things from your own little Calypso lens” I think I like this so much as it could be written about the author Winter Renshaw, she writes likes she has her own Winter Lens. I for one can’t wait to get my magnifying glass out to read more by this author.

This is how I felt reading this book. 1 and half stars for the description of the cute baby.
1. The characters have zero chemistry.
2. The sex scenes are dull and boring and should have just been fade to black. The author keeps alluding to the fact that this guy is a manwhore and he has sex all night apparently but I never read one exciting sex scene with this hot hunk.

4. There are pages and pages of filler, the gambling, the visit to the commune, the conversations in the boring book shop.
5. The cover is the best part of this novel
6. The thing that happened in the Vegas casino with Calypso came out of nowhere and went nowhere. More filler

Another winner from this author, whom I’ve followed right from her first novel.
Crew lives for poker games and showgirls. He lives in the moment. In the present. He rarely plans ahead. His life is turned upside down when a former hook-up comes knocking on his door, and hands over the baby she had after spending a weekend with him.
Calypso was raised in a hippie commune. She escaped to Vegas a few years earlier, after being disillusioned with love and the commune life. She dreams of being a writer and is currently running a loss-making bookshop/wine bar. Crew wanders in on a mission to buy some advice books about babies.

Crew lives for poker games and showgirls. He lives in the moment. In the present. He rarely plans ahead. His life is turned upside down when a former hook-up comes knocking on his door, and hands over the baby she had after spending a weekend with him.
Calypso was raised in a hippie commune. She escaped to Vegas a few years earlier, after being disillusioned with love and the commune life. She dreams of being a writer and is currently running a loss-making bookshop/wine bar. Crew wanders in on a mission to buy some advice books about babies.

This was a cute fast read for me. I liked the chemistry between Calypso and Crew. Hated his parents. I wish he would have went off on them more for the way they acted and the things they said. But I’m happy that Crew and Calypso got their happily every after

I have to say that this book was not what I expected. The title made it seem like it would be more about manwhores and mistakes. Don't get me wrong, it has some of that but this is not the main premise of the book.
Crew was definitely a one night stand kind of guy, and Calypso was the complete opposite of that type of girl. Both come from extremely different backgrounds, but have the same kind of dysfunctional issues. They become friends, and then lean on each other for that friendship.
Calypso is from a commune, yep... That's right. A commune, where she loves deeply and has her heart shattered. I felt so much for her and her story, that I couldn't imagine being a girl like her. Crews family issues all stem from a controlling mother and an unsupportive father.. I didn't get his parents at all. His twin sister was really the only person he could lean on for any family support.
When his world is turned upside down, he had his sister and eventually Calypso to turn to for support. A new father at the age of 24 was something he never fathomed he would be dealing with. Which is what this story us mainly about. Crew and calypso love one another in an unconventional way in the beginning, but throughout the book it becomes real to both of them.
I truly wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. Maybe I gave it the rating I did because I liked it more than I thought I would. I had no expectations at all. I'm not sure it's for everyone , but I'd encourage you to give it a try.

Calypso << what an awesome name. I loved it from the first time i saw it.
Calypso as a character? Absolutely loved her! She's so down to earth and not high maintenance that it's hard not to love her from the first time you meet her.
Crew, i loved him so much its un real.
His life gets turned upside down and he doesn't panic.. well not that much ;) and he just goes with the flow. So naturally as if it was always meant to turn out like that.
The whole story line was something new to me, I'm happy to say I've not read a book like it and I'm glad Winter Renshaw's was the first for me.
I seriously loved every part of the book, other than the parts that your not meant to of course ;)
The people of Shiloh Springs you don't really see much of. That part i didn't mind considering i never liked the way they treated Calypso.
For some reason i kind of liked Elijah. I never saw him as the bad guy..
Crew's parents i was on the fence with throughout the book but by the end my mind was made up.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and i want to thank Winter Renshaw very much for giving me he chance to read this amazing book early :)

A Review of Vegas Baby by Winter Renshaw
Vegas Playboy meets Hippy - 5+++ stars
Crew is a twenty-four year old playboy that is loving life and living it to the hilt in Sin City. As a high stakes Poker player and house flipper, he is able to live life the way he wants, until a knock on the door puts him face to face with a baby daughter and a mother who doesn't want her. He meets Calypso when he goes to buy books on babies and learns that she is also his neighbor. He is intrigued by her and they end up connecting over the baby.
Calypso has no last name and grew up on a commune, so she is nothing like any woman he has ever known. There are lots of laughs and some really touching moments in this book. I love the chemistry between these two and the relationship that Crew shares with his twin sister. Since this doesn't have a cliffhanger, I would definitely recommend this to everyone that likes romcom with a little sexy thrown in. Great storyline!

Another great read from Winter Renshaw!!! This is the story of a hippish-girl named Calypso who moves to Vegas to make a fresh start from the life she had before in a commune. Her neighbor, Crew Forrester is a typical player, not only in poker but also women. He is used to living life in the fast lane until he gets a surprise dropped at his doorstep that will have him changing his reckless ways. When he accidentally meets and befriends his neighbor Calypso, sparks fly. Calypso is a wonderful person that helps Hunter along the way while his life has changed basically overnight. These two people come from different worlds that collide and melt together to make a beautiful and sweet romance. Through all their challenges Calypso and Crew stand by each other through thick and thin. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made my heart go pitter padder. I loved this sweet romance and I can't wait to see what comes next from Winter Renshaw!

I really enjoyed this book. 5+ stars all the way! It was a refreshing change of pace from all the over the top alpha males, billionaires, dark romances, etc I've been reading. (Don't get me wrong I love all that but it's nice to take a break sometimes!) Crew is a very down to earth, go with the flow hero. Even when a baby is dropped at his doorstep he only freaks out for about half a second. Then he calls in reinforcements in the form of his twin sister and becomes a loving, protective, insta dad. LOVE IT!! Calypso was a great heroine. Very down to earth, easy going and "real" despite her commune/cultish upbringing and tragic events in her past. Winter did an awesome job in writing this story. There were a few serious subjects but none of it weighed the story down. It remained a light easy read. Nothing felt forced. Everything just flowed and transformed together effortlessly to get the HEA. I highly recommend!!!!!!

Just finished reading Vegas Baby! I have to say that it was just brilliantly fantastic! Before I start though, I have to say the names are fantastic! I do get a bit fed up when reading others authors books because I'm fed up of seeing common names in place like Chase! I love that all ur names are unique!
I love how Crew just stood up to the plate with baby Emme! Even though he didn't have a clue about babies. Even though in the beginning he was a major player he loved his daughter!
Calypso was a breath of fresh air for Crew. She couldn't see her own prettiness but Crew did! She has a had hard life but found out things that no person should and never have to deal with!
This story was beautifully written and I loved every page. Thank you for another wonderful read Winter Renshaw!
P.s I'm most intrigued with Royal. That excerpt was gripping. I need to know why he left! February 24th can't come quick enough. I love these little countdowns I get lol xx

Crew is a poker player with a love for winning and an endless stream of women. Calypso is his next door neighbor who is tired of being kept awake by the constant banging of his headboard against their shared wall. When a fling from Crew's past comes back with shocking delivery, it's now crying that's keeping Calypso awake.
What starts out as a neighbor trying to be helpful turns into so much more. Both Crew and Calypso have pasts that keep them from themselves up to the idea of more...but could their love for Emme be strong enough to change that? Can they both let each other in, or will their pasts dictate their future and cause them to push each other away?
This was a great story about loving life one day at a time and making the most of every moment you have. I found it refreshing and hopeful, while also being humorous and endearing.

Crew is a professional poker player and paperclips houses for a living. His parents run a rehab center for gambling addicts. He hides his jobs from them. They think he is a math teacher. He is in the middle of fooling around with this dancer when someone knocks on his door. When he finally answers the door he recognizes the woman and one he had sex with at least a year ago. Her name is Ava and she isn't alone. She has a four month old daughter that is Crews and she wants him to take the baby. She doesn't really even stay around long enough to tell him the baby's name. He is thrust into fatherhood and doesn't back down at all. He meets his neighbor at bookstore where he is buying parenting books.
