I started reading this book a while back, and finally got around to finishing it. I now know there was a reason for the the delay -- there were messages in the last 2/3 of this book that I really needed to hear / read right now in my life. Here are a few of the messages from the last 40 pages that really resonate with me right now: 1) "You can regret your speech but never your silence, so a simple smile will do" 2) "We are here for our own goal, our own purpose, and our own destiny" 3) "You first, then the world" I also enjoyed the section near the end on the significance of numbers (and some on digital clocks). It brought light to the fact that I often look at a digital clock and see the mmdd of my birthday -- there is a reason for that. I found this book very enlightening and if you believe, I feel it is worth a read. 7 out of 10.
I was given an ARC of Angel Messages from NetGalley for an honest review and this is my review. I have read different takes on this book before that I think was presented better. For me this book jumped around a lot and the stories that were presented were just small fragments that for me really did not have enough substance to have that much meaning. I wish there would have been more focus on a few cases she really helped instead of a ton of touch and go cases. I kept getting the feeling the authors were bragging about all the people the helped with their "gift" but never really backed it up by going deeply into any of the subjects. I want to know more about some of things. Like are the angels our deceased loved ones or another part of heaven? That confused me a bit. Also what exactly is the difference between what Maudy does and a psychic because a lot of what she was saying was a lot like the psychics I read wrote? To me this book was just as big as a pitch for what she does. At the start of the book she called herself a telemarketer at one point and this book to me was one heck of a sales pitch for people to go see her live because in order for me to get some real meaning out of this book it would have had to have gone a lot deeper and not just scratched the surface of a bunch of stories from people she helped and covered topics that a bunch of books on the market cover. For me this book was just okay. Nothing stood out for me from any other book I have read on this subject and that is why I am giving this book three out of five stars.
