This book is about not any other race but its a seadrekar race where mice take their ships and sail across the seas whoever reaches back to the starting point first wins.Someone stole the Finbrew everyone's favourite drink in the Mice king Island which is a big disaster. Geronimo was forced to join the race. luckily Geronimo helped solve the mystery and found all the Finbrews while a team of girls won the race. their called the Beauty of the Seas. Another team of boys originally won but were disqualified for cheating. My favourite character is the Bated Breath captain because he was fearless and really amazing. My favourite part of the book was when Sapphire saved the day by creating a distraction because it was quite cool

[Parent's Review] This is the type of books I would label as “fast food book”. It was fun to ready, quick to finish, yet after all, when you look back at it, it does not give you much to think and reflect and it soon becomes somewhat boring already. However, I know how popular this kind of books among young kids of my son’s age or so—we borrowed the book from the library; printed in 2016, it is already worn and torn. So, you can imagine how frequently it is picked up and read by kids in my town. But if I change my lence and look at this book from the perspective of a 7-year-old, I know why it is popular: 1. It has very lively formant. It has all sort of mixed use of fonts, eye catching and vibrant. A great visual display that the kids would know where to look for key words. It also has good amount of illustration, making necessary introduction and explanation, helping the kids to understand who is who and what is going on. 2. The plot is simple and straight forward like 1+1 =2. Kids can understand it easily. Any minor deviation in the beginning, as an adult, you know it would be related to something happened later. And of course, there are good guys, bad guys, and a girl that the main character admires. And of course, it is the expected happy-ending. 3. The background of this story mimics some ancient history in Europe, while the majority of white population would have come emotional attachment or historical relationship with. In other words, it relates to more kids. The values or aesthetics are pretty “white”. For example, the girl that the main character admire is someone who has eyes blue as water of Fjord and has hair red as sunset. As an Asian myself, I wonder why not black eyes? As black as the deep universe, for example? Just kidding.
We're both enjoying the Micekings series with its comedic take on the Vikings as demonstrated through the Micekings and the various dragon clans. Miss 5 likes the icons marking each chapter and memorizing what the different colours mean for indicating dragon clans. The colourful pictures and font icongraphy (plus extra line spacing) make this great for reading to children interested in chapter books. We also like that the female characters (even if they aren't primary characters) get active roles - such as racing their own ship.
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors
The book "The Famouse Fjord Race" was good , because Olaf the owner of bated breath dragged Geronimo into his dreaker. Olaf's old friend Ratlide and Olaf's rival Snarl were in the Famouse fjord race. This is why this book is good.
