Konoha’s World Situation – Konoha’s POV
Kagerou Daze 01 – Hibiya’s POV
Children Record 1 - Shintaro’s POV
Kagerou Daze 02 – Hibiya’s POV
Children Record 2 - Shintaro’s POV
Kagerou Daze 03 - Hibiya’s POV
Moonshine Recital - Momo’s POV
Kagerou Daze IV - ? POV
Overture to Closure - Momo’s POV

Finally the storyline advances, mostly off screen, but still some answers were given. Like how certain character’s gained their ability, how some characters are connected, and that yes Kano is a dick who possibly knows more than he says.

JIN’s still feeding us only pieces of the puzzle, but based on the last chapter the explanation of what Kagerou Daze means and how all these characters tie together may not be far off.

Best of all, the story structure for most of this book, the switching of the chapters between Hibiya (past) and Shinatro/Momo (present) really worked.

Now that I know more about the characters I had an easier time figuring out who was narrating and situations mentioned in previous vols were more fleshed out here making more sense.

All in all, the story moves along more and was much less confusing for most of the vol.

Random Thought: I wonder if Kagerou Daze roman numeral chapters and Kagerou Daze number chapters might signify different things, but maybe the next book will clear that up?

Advise to self: Just go in expecting a good time and not expecting answers, it’s a much more enjoyable reading experience.

Final Thoughts: I liked this book, I almost really liked it but the last two chapters killed that feeling. One chapter was confusing, the other reveals that important information was discovered off screen. I think once this serious is finished I’ll reread it, for now I’m just going to go in without taking things too seriously.

This volume is a bit darker than the previous two, which is understandable, as the story is progressing forward. The narrative was back and forth to different people each chapter, with it taking a few paragraphs or longer minimum to tell who was the pov narrator. I think this was purposeful, to add a sense of confusion and disorientation to the reader to emphasize the confusion of the characters.

Momo and Shintaro really shined as characters here, which was nice, since along with Ene, Shintaro is my favorite character. Looking forward to vol. 4.

The plot really picks up here!!

While I found Shintaro's POV borderline unbearable in past books, he's gotten.. better, too. I found Hibiya kind of annoying, but I can't say that wasn't intentional. He's 11, he's got stinky little 5th grader syndrome. I think Ene is my favorite character, so far.

Keep in mind, I have the bias of having gone into the novels with a semi-solid understanding of what's going on plot and world-wise. I think that if I hadn't, my brain would've broken by now.

Great! While I was reading it, hundreds of theories about the characters and the story were flying around my brain. Amazing job expanding the universe created in the two previous books, introducing widely characters like Hibiya, Hiyori and the new-Haruka, aka Konoha, I guess.
The end left me on suspense. Can't wait to read IV!

I had so much fun reading this, especially the last few chapters. I have read most of the manga and watched a few songs, so I was blown away by the little details and puzzle pieces piecing themselves together.

My dad left me when I was two too and hasn’t returned since so I really relate to all the characters unfortunately 😔💔 /hj

Oke, langsung membahas novelnya. Jalan ceritanya sungguh keren. Sorry, I can't helped it but searching!

Ngomong-ngomong, karakter Kano begitu menarik. Padahal alasan saya masuk Kagepro adalah demi Seto, tapi jam tayangnya sedikit sekali sejauh ini. Dan saya kira kemampuan Seto cukup menyakitkan (baca pikiran), tapi kemampuan Kano ternyata keren sekali; kemampuan untuk mengelabui pandangan seseorang. Kinda angst, though. :P

Cukup banyak informasi yang terkuak, tapi masih banyak teka-tekinya. Keren, sungguh.

This volume finishes the introductions. All the main characters and the important side characters have made their debut.

The story doubles back to expand on some of the things in volume 1 and connects with the end of volume 2.

From the 5th chapter on (Children Record 2) the plot really starts to move forward.

The penultimate chapter can be a bit confusing since you have to guess which characters are talking.

Other than that, the mystery continues and it's intruiging (and also a bit exciting).

Franchise wise this volume connects to:
Songs: Konoha's State of the World, Kagerou Daze, Children Record, Otsukimi Recital.

Anime: episodes 2, 4, parts of episode 7 and 8.
