Maksud Mammad ibrahim oglu Ibrahimbekov. He was an Azerbaijani writer and member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan. He was the older brother of Rustam Ibragimbekov.

Maksud Ibrahimbekov graduated from the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Polytechnic Institute in Baku (1955-1960), the Higher Scenario Courses (1962-1964) and the Higher Directing Courses (1971-1973) in Moscow.

He was uthor of novels, short stories and short stories published in various periodicals around the world and country. Including in the magazines "Azerbaijan", "Friendship of peoples", "New world", "Youth", "Roman-newspaper", "Literary Azerbaijan" and others. The prose of Maksud Ibrahimbekov has been translated into 36 foreign languages.

Films based on the scripts of Maksud Ibragimbekov: "A man for a young woman", "Waltz of the golden calves", "One for all", "Interrupted serenade", "Because I am Aivar Lidak", "A little spring holiday", "An owl flew in", " A cozy place in the park ”,“ Who will go to Truskavets ”,“ Say that you love me ”,“ One fine day ”,“ Mesozoic history ”,“ The secret of the mountain dungeon ”,“ You, my song ”,“ Let him stay with us ”,“ The main interview ”,“ I remember you, teacher ”,“ The last night of childhood ”and others included in the fund of national cinematography.
