She writes about danger for a living and now she find herself in it. Only a Navy SEAL can save her.
When someone breaks into romance author Peyton Matthews’ Virginia Beach home to steal her newest manuscript, her publisher hires Noah Chase, a former Navy SEAL and the newest member of GAPS to be her bodyguard.
Peyton thinks the idea of needing a bodyguard is ridiculous, but she can’t help appreciating how gorgeous Noah is. And while she thought that having a stranger hanging around 24/7 would mess with her creativity, the Navy SEAL definitely comes in handy when she’s choreographing fight scenes. All that hand-to-hand action and rolling around on the floor with him gets her pulse racing, but while Noah is falling for Peyton too, he doesn’t act on it. He needs to keep his head in the game and focus on the job or he could end up getting her killed. She might not think she’s in danger, but his gut tells him differently.
The threat to Peyton is closer to home than she realizes however, and it will take all of Noah’s SEAL training to save her life.
Paige Tyler is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of sexy, romantic suspense and paranormal romance. She and her very own military hero (also known as her husband) live on the beautiful Florida coast with their adorable fur baby (also known as their dog). Paige graduated with a degree in education, but decided to pursue her passion and write books about hunky alpha males and the kick-butt heroines who fall in love with them.
I enjoyed this novella. It's difficult to write a novella that hits all the important points because there isn't enough time, but Paige did a good job. I've recently fallen in love with her books and look forward to the next one.
The chemistry between the main characters, Noah and Peyton make this a thoroughly enjoyable action/ romance. However, the creative twist to this Hot Seals of Coronado book elevated the plot line. The way Paige Tyler interconnected the Seal Teams' mission with Peyton's security issues made it so much more interesting than your average novel. This is part of a series, but you can read it as a standalone, and then you'll want to read all of her books.
I am a new addict of Paige's books and can't get enough of her great stories. Strong women characters, great suspense and charming and dashing men. Great world to escape to. Peyton and Noah's story is no exception. Loved the story and have now read it twice!
I love a good bodyguard romance, and this little novella fit the bill. There was a good amount of action, and I really liked Noah. The heroine is a romance author, which did feel a bit odd at times.
Peyton, a well known romance writer, is in the midst of writing a new book when her home is broken into. Thankfully, she's with a friend when the break in occurred, but her agent, Ben, is positive that someone is after her book. Yes, it seems a little farfetched, but unfortunately there really are people that will go to some extreme lengths to acquire a book for pirating purposes. Her agent's solution is to hire a bodyguard from Guardian Angel Protective Services, GAPS.
Thus Noah enters Peyton's life and things will never be the same for either of them. Noah, a former SEAL, is not what Peyton expected when she reluctantly agreed to Ben's suggestion. That works out because Peyton isn't what Noah imagined as a writer either. The attraction is immediate, intense, and reciprocated. Noah knows his focus needs to be on keeping her safe, not on getting her naked. But when you're together 24/7 it's hard to maintain the necessary professional distance.
As they try to keep their relationship strictly platonic, they begin to learn more about each other and the attraction steadily strengthens. Then one day they literally run into each other and they can't fight the attraction anymore. Lips are sealed together, bodies are touching, and this is finally going to happen...until they are sexy time blocked (yeah, I had to clean up the usual term for it. LOL) by Noah's boss calling in for an update.
Noah is immediately shocked back into "we can't do this mode" and inadvertently hurts Peyton's feelings when he tells her they can't act on their chemistry. Of course the next day things are understandably awkward, but they both try to move on as if nothing happened. That's easier said than done as they both feel the rightness of this thing between them.
After Noah rescues Peyton from an attempted kidnapping, neither can deny how much they need and want each other and this time they're able to follow through on the passion, numerous times. *wink* Things quickly change when Noah gets a call saying Peyton's case is over and resolved.
Is this the end for them? Is Peyton truly safe now? Who was the mastermind behind the plot against Peyton? Will they get away with it and her book? Will Noah be able to save Peyton a second time? I suggest you one-click this book now and find out. It's a good short story with a believable romance and mystery. I didn't feel like anything was missing from it, as can be the case sometimes with novellas, because I think Paige did a good job of completing this story from beginning to end without leaving us wondering about any unanswered questions.
On a side note, I loved the glimpse we got of Noah's family life and how his Dad's desertion impacted his whole family, including his Mom, Eileen, and younger sister, Erin. His Mom is a sweetheart who isn't so subtle about her wish for Noah to settle down, how much she likes Peyton, and that she knows he doesn't view her as only a client. His sister about loses her ever loving fangirl mind upon seeing Peyton, her favorite author. I love that Paige included this about Erin. I've been known to fangirl squeal myself about my favorite authors and I'm sure we can all completely understand what Erin must be feeling.
So again, I say check out this book and other works by this author. I know you'll love them.
Someone is trying to steal writer Peyton Matthew's manuscript and they're willing to kidnap her to do it. When her agent hires a bodyguard, Peyton thinks it's a ridiculous idea but once she meets ex-SEAL Noah Chase she's beginning to rethink it. Especially when she realizes that Noah can help teach her some fighting moves that she can use in her book. Noah is determined to keep his distance from Peyton but she's tempting him more and more each day.
I liked Peyton as a character, she was very real and genuine. I especially loved the scene when she meets Noah's mother and sister. His sister is a huge fan of Peyton's and goes nuts when she gets to meet her. Noah's the typical hot, strong, sexy SEAL that wants to protect her. But his push/pull over whether or not to get involved was a little annoying (but not much). Overall it was ok but not too deep. This one was short and as such it was mostly insta-love/insta-lust without a whole lot of character development. It was enjoyable but don't expect too much.
This was a very cute, very quick read. Peyton and Noah are great characters. Peyton is a successful author and Noah is an ex-Navy Seal bodyguard. Noah is hired to protect Peyton when someone breaks into her house and tries to steal her book. This book flows really well and keeps your attention from the beginning. Even with the suspense/danger aspect this was a cute story for me. It is light-hearted. I liked the way that the relationship was written. It happens quickly but feels possibly and not rushed and unbelievable. Nothing pulled me out of this story. This story isn't really predictable, beyond the relationship. I didn't know who the bad guy was until he pretty much showed his hand. The sex is hot and explicit and there is a ton of sexual chemistry to keep you entertained. I really enjoyed this story! I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

My SEAL Bodyguard by Paige Tyler is a fantastic read. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Ms Tyler has given us a well written book. Noah and Peyton's story is loaded with lovable characters, action, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed My SEAL Bodyguard and look forward to reading more from Paige Tyler in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
This was an incredible book. I could not get enough of it. The story is amazing and from the moment that you start reading you will be hooked. The characters are fantastic and you cannot help but fall in love with them and it moves along at the perfect pace, not to fast nor to slow. This has to be read, no doubt about it.
This is a great short read that pulls you in from the start. Believable storyline and Paige Tyler has a way of making all the characters seem real. You feel as if you are living the life right there with them. A witty way to have you laugh and understand how real it all appears.
This was a very cute, refreshing read! This story about an early adult author needing protection when someone tries to steal her manuscript was enjoyable. My favorite part was when the heroes sister goes all fan girl.
My SEAL Bodyguard is a short, fun escape. Romance writer is threatened and hunky former SEAL is hired to protect her. Yes, it’s been done and yes I still love it. Paige Tyler made it seem real and I totally enjoyed sharing her fantasy. If you want a fun escape read this book.
