Adventism Imperiled: Education in Crisis

Rate this book
In this newly revised edition of one of the most penetrating books written on Adventist education, the Standish brothers go directly to the Word of God for the principle by which the children that are called to be the sons and daughters of the King of the universe are to be educated. This is a book that every Seventh-day Adventist interested in our children and youth should read. No Christian parents, earnest for the salvation of their children, should miss the opportunity to learn from this book. Both authors are trained educators, having spent decades in education from the elementary to the university level.

Adventism Imperiled provides a balanced overview of biblical principles for education, whether in the home or in schools. I really liked the way that the authors interspersed scientific research with their own personal experiences as students and educators in public and SDA school systems. They present an uncompromising attitude with biblical truth -- something that is lacking in many educators today. As a student at Hartland College, where Colin Standish was the foundational president, I've had the opportunity to see the principles of this book in action; they are indeed effective!
