It all started when Ayn's boyfriend pronounced her pornophobic - in defence of his own eyebrow-raising reading material. In order to prove that she wasn't a prude (just enlightened), this self-confessed Good Girl found herself jumping headlong into the booming sex industry in order to understand what her boyfriend was so interested in.
She was intrigued to hear that "Porn is not merely acceptable, it's hip" (New York Magazine) and that women were the fastest growing segment in the porn industry. Ayn's quest soon aroused the curiosity of her female friends: and it transpired that the girls - single or married, involved or not - were desperate for information. And so, (in the name of research!) Ayn created her own "porn-to-do list." The items on the list ranged from:
 Reading erotica
 Meeting a porn star
 Going to a sex store
 Testing vibrators
 Visiting a strip club
Along the way, Ayn ditched the porn-obsessed boyfriend, and learned that one should not try to take change from a stripper's G-string tips, nor is the Hustler store the best place to make a first impression on a hot guy. This is the result of one woman's attempt to pierce the veil that modestly covers something many women are actually fascinated by. Surprising, hilarious, informative, and ultimately non-judgmental, this is one book you won't put down - once you admit you're curious enough to pick it up!
When Carrillo's boyfriend accused her of being "pornophobic" she made a list - she really loves making lists - a "Porn to do list" in fact. On the list were items like "meet a porn star", "visit a strip club", "test vibrators", "check out a brothel" and more. Here's a tip: if the previous sentence offended you, you're not going to enjoy this book.

I would actually give this book a 4.5. It had me laughing out loud all the way through and was such a great idea that wasn't overdone. The basic idea of the story is that the protaganist's boyfriend tells her she's "pornophobic" and in order to prove him wrong she sets out on a journey to experience all things porn. Along the way she dumps the boyfriend, meets a gorgeous guy and manages to answer all of her friends questions bout sex and porn. Although the falling in love with the perfect guy bit, was a little cliched it didn't take away from this hilarious, interesting and well written book.
A wonderful light read, thoroughly enjoyable laugh out loud chick-lit. In parts it has its hollywood-sweet fairytale moments, but they're not overly done and the rest of the book makes up for them. It also shows how some cringe-worthy and difficult assignments, even one as awkward as finishing off a "Porn to do" list, can be tackled by taking it one step at a time... and that it can turn out to be not as scary as it first seemed (don't believe me? check the part with her visit to the brothel).
Bit of an odd one, odder still that a found it had been in our library at work got 7 years (an all male environment and borrowed just 3 times ever). It was funny, entertaining but was it real? It presents itself as real but sometimes it was just like a novel. Still, I learned stuff from it, sniggered and winced at her antics too.
