A funny, sweet trilogy about three girls and the friendship and romance they find working summer jobs at a water park!
Now that Robyn is dating her older brother (ew!) Caitlin is feeling distinctly boyfriend-less in her lifeguard chair. But that's where she meets Jason, the water park's resident hottie...
Jade Parker, who also writes as Lorraine Heath and Rachel Hawthorne, is the daughter of a British beauty (her mother won second place in a beauty contest sponsored by Max Factor® during which she received a kiss from Caesar Romero-who played the Joker on the old Batman TV series) and a Texan who was stationed at Bovingdon while serving in the air force. She enjoys weaving both heritages through her stories.

Caitlin was having the best first days of summer ever. She received the perfect position at her favorite water park, where the hottest guys were just a glance away, and she had a very cute co-worker, Tanner, who was a lifeguard in the pool right next to her.
Then everything changed when Caitlin saw the "available" Tanner kiss a souvenir shop girl at the employee party. And then her best friend confessed that she liked Sean, Caitlin's brother, and that they were going out.
Her world was turned upside down after that, especially since now Caitlin has to watch her best friend hold hands with her evil brother -- and sees Tanner every day at work.
Caitlin has a new rule that will hopefully keep her safe for the rest of the summer: NO MORE BOYS (especially the jock types.)
Of course, rules are meant to be broken. The very first time Caitlin saw Romeo, a guest at the water park, she already assumed that he was a total heartbreaker. She knows that she shouldn't show any interest, especially since she doesn't want to get hurt again. But it's hard to ignore a boy who is always hanging out where you work .
The only way Caitlin can discover that not all boys are jerks is to give the new guy a shot, and it's up to her to not let anyone ruin this perfect chance.
This is a cute and adorable follow-up to the first novel in the series, ROBYN. Caitlin is that one character who has to deal with the troubles of boys, which everyone who is just as confused will be able to relate to. Although most have already solved the mystery of Whitney, or think they have, her appearances may help those who wonder what her secret is. But don't worry too much since the last book in the MAKING A SPLASH series, WHITNEY, will be releasing soon.
my mom got this for me and it's actually really good!! a lot better than i thought it would be. i read it in a day (little pages big font) and wow Michael Romeo seems like dream guy!! haha
So second book in the making a splash series and it gets finally to Caitlin side of the story telling us how she felt of her brother and her best friend. This book shows her worries, her thoughts and feelings especially about a new boy named Romeo.Feelings about the change in her group of friends expecailly the new girl who seems to have many, many secrets and a specifically big one.
Whats a girl to do when a guy you like is always around, seems too much, too great.Romeo roaming the the tsunami and being so cute that you get distracted from you lifeguard job.Having it end explaing it all and makes the third book more intresting.Maybe saving a life or two while having some fun..
I think this book trys to make it seem like you dont need the first book but i think it would be best to read the first book first to know why she seems so about her brothers relationship with her best friend.People who should read this is teens i dont think 14-15 whould find it so intresting compared to 16 and uptil adults becasuse of how the people in the book are portated even though people in the book sseem young enough for them to compare to.
Make a splash caitlin is about a girl who is a lifegard and she is work for the summer at paradise falls water park but she can't keep her eyes off this guy named romeo but she didnt know his real named but she do but she still call him romeo.I dont like how his ex girl friend keep jumping in there love story. But i like how her friends was trying to get them together, and i think that this book would be good for girl for they can know that love is still out there
Still not disappointed in Jade Parker's writing. Caitlin is a little annoying at times but other than that another cute, fun book that made me smile while reading.
Caitin is working at a splash park for the summer with her friends Robyn and Whitney. Her brother and Robyn have just started dating and it's super weird for Caitlin. Whitney is a new friend that Caitlin doesn't know much about and Whitney doesn't give much info either. Caitlin's given up men since Tanner, the boy she thought would be her first kiss, turned out to be a jerk ans kissing Jasmine instead. But Romeo is hanging around at the attraction where Caitlin works and he bugs her every day causing her supervisor to admonish her too often. When an incident occurs in the wave pool Romeo and Caitlin are embarrassed. Caitlin really doesn't want anything to do with Romeo, she doesn't want her heart broken again....but she's thinking about him all the time. In the meantime Robyn and Sean are becoming closer while Whitney tries to decide what to do about the boy she likes. Summer, sun, fun, young romance taking place at a water park....cool read.
This book is about Caitlin. She is a lifeguard and her brother is dating her best friend. At the present moment, she hates boys because lifeguard, that she thought liked her, kissed another girl. But then she meets Michael.
I love the characters and this prove to me to be another good read to me. I can't believe her best friend dated Caitlin's brother and him, her brother kissing her friend in front of her, if you going to do PDA do it somewhere else because it could be really awkward for a sister to watch that. in the book, she meets Whitney and she doesn't like her towards the end. when she's like," no talking to the life guard." to him but does she realized that doesn't really work? cause he keep talking to her. I bet she never imagined falling for him later on. truth of the matter is they make a cute couple and the feels came alive when they kissed towards the end. I love reading books that have feels and happy endings in it. I got lost in this book and kept my attention to the end. I'm glad her ex, that cheated on her, apologized to her but I don't understand why the girl that stole her first boyfriend, tried to steal another guy from Caitlin. like how low can you go? I can't believe Whitney let her attend the meeting and everything making Caitlin upset. she's too fast in my opinion and appear slutty isn't going get you the good guys. being promiscuous is not going to get you anywhere. does she think that Romeo would really go for her? I'm glad he fell for Caitlin instead of her and proved to her that he likes her. I'm like literally relieved and I'm simply happy for her.
Not as good as the first installment in this series (Making a Splash: Robyn) but good enough. In this novel we are reintroduced to Caitlin, the sister of Sean and the best friend of Robyn. In Robyn's book, Caitlin had been hurt when she found the boy she'd been dating kissing someone else. Consequently, she swears off boys for the rest of the summer. But can she really keep that promise to herself, especially while working as a lifeguard at the Tsunami wave pool? Like any girl she feels insecure after her ordeal, she feels like she is not enough and top it all off she feels like she has lost her best friend Robyn to her brother Sean. Everything just seems to be going wrong. So much so that she snubs Micheal Romeo when he tries to talk to her. But Romeo is quite persistent in his pursuit of her. How long can she resist?
Jade Parker is the psuedonym of Rachel Hawthorne who happens to be one of my favorite authors. As Parker, she has written a 3 book series that is about 3 friends who work at a water park for the summer. Caitlin is the second book and can be read without reading the first book. In this book, Caitlin has just gotten betrayed by the fellow lifegaurd that she finds kissing another employee. As a result she has sworn off cute jock boys and wants to date a geek. So when she has to blow the whistle at Romeo, she is sure he is another guy with a string of broken hearts. But Micheal Romeo, is actually not what he seems. The book is a fun lighthearted summer read that has Caitlin finding out what Micheal really is all about. The is a quick light romance that is great when you want something fun to read.
All I can say is that I want a boy like Michael Romeo. He is sweet, giving, and, best of all, a self professed geek! Caitlin is hilarious in her own right. She comes up with obscure holidays so she can eat sweets (she only does so on holidays). Once burned, twice shy seems to be her philosophy, but how about sticking around and seeing if Romeo can change that?
This was a fun break from all of the sci-fi, dystopias, and fairy tales that I've been so caught up in lately. It was fast paced, sweet, and just absolutely adorable! I love Parker's books and I intend to read the rest of this series as well! <3
Maybe I am just getting tired of the teen age angst but this seemed to drag on towards the inevitable conclusion of young love getting together! I will read Book 3 so I hope it improves.
