I'm perhaps more open-minded than I ought to be about ancient prophesies and apocalyptic transmogrifications, so rather than discuss the, er, evidence that the Catholic church is about to run out of popes, I'll recommend this book as a good popular reference to the history of the Papacy. It briefly recounts the stories of each Pope in turn, from Peter to John Paul II-- and what a rogue's gallery of villains and scoundrels they turn out to have been! The twists and turns of the succession sometimes rival the Grand Guignol for portraits of utter depravity. Enjoy!

It's full of great information on various prophecies about the predicted fall of the Church, which was awesome, but I didn't appreciate the snide tone in which much of it was written. The author seemed to have an axe to grind with religion in general, and considering he seems to believe without question in these psychics and prophets, all of whom were heavily religious themselves, I felt as though he could have shown a bit more respect towards their own beliefs. I mean, they should know a little something about it if they're so prophetic, right? So that was weird.

Hogue known as a Nostradamus expert takes on St.Malachy's prophecy of the popes. According to his beliefs, the next pope is the last pope. Did not read the whole book but scanned end, true??? Malachy has been accurate...time will tell.

Buku yang bertema Eskatologis, memuat berbagai ramalan tentang masa depan 'gereja' dan 'vatikan'. buku ini juga mengungkap ramalan St. Malachy yang sangat terkenal mengenai 'The Last Pope' yakni 'Petrus Romanus ; Petrus dari Roma'.
