I really enjoyed this book. It is one I have read before, and like to revisit from time to time. It’s insightful enough to meet me at different phases of my life, and I noticed this time the things I learned the last time I read it did not seem as important as the things I learned this time.

Loved, loved, loved this book. Its three books packed into one. I spent a great deal of time pouring over the scripture references and really working these principles into my life. I'm thankful to see that I have done a great many things well in raising my children and see where I could have done better. It is such an important book for women to read especially as society continues to fall so far away from God.

Though the book is a bit 'dated', the principles still apply as God's word does not change. I know I will grab this off the shelf from time to time to revisit it.

If you have a daughter, I highly suggest you read this book with her. Belong to a women's group at church? Maybe dive into it together. We must not lose sight of what God has called us to be as women. Use this book as a guide as you seek His will for your life. I promise you won't regret it.

I debated on two or three stars. The first book was wonderful, talked mainly about how, as Christians, we should live our lives. The next two books were a hit and miss for me. To be mindful, this book is from the 80s, so there would be some dated ideas. However, I couldn't tell if the ideas were dated because of society or because I felt like I've heard the same idea in today's church, particularly in women's ministry.

I did NOT hate this book nor did I dislike it, but I didn't love it. There are some good things in it. I read it by myself and at the end of every chapter, Ortlund has an exercise to do by yourself. This may very well be the sort of book to read in a group setting.
