HOTTER that Louisiana Hot Sauce!!!! GAR-ON-TEE you will need a fan, a bottle of water and batteries with this one ;-)
Liz went on a journey to free her inner wild woman, and boy did she find the perfect man to guide her into the wild side and what better place than the French Quarter. This book is loaded with sex, and knowing the French Quarter and Bourbon Street like I do, it is believable. There are feelings described by one of the characters during the M/F/M menage, that I think would be realistic in a menage. All I can say without spoiling it, is it is my belief that if you are really caught up in passion there are no filters, you are ruled by sensation and do what feels good and Ms. Alexander actually describes a character having these feelings.
This was my first Lacey Alexander book and it won't be my last.

Holy shet. Another panty scorcher from Lacey Alexander.
This book was damn erotic. How Lacey can cram so many different kinds of erotic naughtiness into one book is beyond me......well I understand it has a lot to do with minimal storyline and maximum naked, body bumping, but still – there is just so damn much of it.
And where the hell is Bourbon Street anyway and how can I get there in the smallest amount of time possible?

Rarely have I been so bored by so much sex. Seriously, I was skimming all the smut, hoping for more of Jack's friend Ty or even the stalkerific subplot (completely with bomb threats!). This did absolutely nothing for me.
I just didn't buy Liz suddenly going from a sub-zero relationship to becoming the queen of fucking overnight. Just because she met some sexy Cajun, she decides to start frequenting strip clubs, has pseudo-sex with women, fucks out in the open, visits sex clubs, and has a menage? All in a couple of weeks? Not buying it. There was also a total lack of tangible chemistry between Jack and Liz. I didn't buy for moment that they were in love and meant more to each other than an easily available sexual partner. It all seemed so...mechanical. No way am I going to read the other books in this series.

If I were to rate this based on the sex alone, well then folks we've got ourselves a 5 star read. However, since I don't rate on sex alone, this was a decent story, 3.5 stars. I could've taken a bit more character development, but other than that it was entertaining. A bit unrealistic at times, but most of what we read is make believe.
Long story short-sexually repressed girl comes out of her shell with the help of an all too sexy P.I. Liz manages to get her freak on with a couple of FEMALE strippers and just to make things really steamy, she participates in a threesome with Jack, her smexy P.I, and his bestie Ty. All of this happens in about a week's time, see this is where the unrealistic stuff comes in.

Hold on to your mardi gras beads ladies and gentleman... this book is really sexy! It also has a sweet love story. Gotta love Lacey Alexander...

Man, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read a Lacey Alexander book but when I was in the mood for something hot, I immediately recalled the previous books I’ve read from this author. When it comes to Erotic Romance, Lacey Alexander is one of my faves. She writes amazingly hot scenes, but there’s also a real focus to her books as well and I think this is what sets her apart from everyone else.
This Hot in the City book is set in the French Quarter so we get that steamy New Orleans touch to everything that makes things so much more funner to read. When Liz March suspects that her fiancé is cheating on her, she hires a PI named Jade Wade to investigate. Although he initially refuses, he can’t help but fall for Liz’s charm.
The plot isn’t out of the ordinary for this concept, which was why I found it very easy to get into. The sex scenes are abundant and highly detailed, dabbling in everything from ménages and even some girl on girl action. There’s really no shame in where Alexander takes her stories so every moment is pretty interesting.
Most of all, I’m in love with her writing style and voice. Clear and concise, the story moves forward quickly, wasting no time with slow moments and delays. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

While this book has a few flaws (the ex-fiance storyline was a bit weak, and some of the dialogue could have been better), the good far out-weighed the bad in my estimation. Lacey Alexander has delivered some of the most BLAZING hot sex scenes i have ever read, and by the end of this book the question really was, is there anything that this couple DIDN'T try?
Definitely not for the faint of heart, or anyone who likes their love scenes to be strictly vanilla. The book contains m/f, f/m/f, m/f/m, & a partridge in a pear tree. Grab a bucket of ice, and enjoy the ride.

I finished reading this last night but due to exhaustion I wasn't able to review it right away. So, another 5-star spicy novel from Ms Alexander, I loved how she writes everything and sets the scene. Take the French Quarter, where most of the people are uninhibited when it comes to sex, she doesn't write the characters like fish out of water, but she adjusts them and molds them to match the setting.
Liz Marsh went to Jack Wade and gave him a job to track her fiance, and to confirm he's cheating. Turns out he's not exactly cheating, but going to strip clubs and enjoying lap dances aren't exactly traits of a good husband, it's a precedent for cheating. I like how Liz's history was described and how Southern girls are raised to just obey their parents and then, their husbands. She broke the norm by standing up for herself and making her own decisions, the first major one is breaking things off with Todd, the fiance. He's one of the quiet psychotic ones.
Now, moving on to the sexual tension between Liz and Jack, it was apparent from the beginning that they'll explode. They both acknowledged the other as hot and doable and I admire how Jack didn't take advantage of Liz, and just let things fall into place.
Trust a Lacey Alexander novel to arouse your senses because the sex was hot off the charts. Every encounter was sensual and I always enjoy the dirty talk, it's not some senseless banging but a slow build to heighten the senses. I felt my cheeks flush and the need to put my face in front of the air-conditioning unit. If this were hot sauce, it's the extra spicy Tabasco.
Jack really let Liz explore her sexuality and applauded her for it, my favorite parts were the ones with the girl to girl action. In here, you want it you got it, sex was never boring, there's F/F, M/F, M/F/M, public sex, and the unexpected romance. Through their sexual encounters they become closer and more emotional. Jack felt the need to protect Liz from the fiance not just because of the job but he came to care for her deeply.
Like all stories, Ms Alexander was able to write a good conflict and a matching resolution to that, both characters grovelled and became miserable, all the more reason to make up with a bang. Looking forward to the next!

One word, Delicious!!! This book grabbed me from the beginning when Liz hires private investigator Jack to find out if her fiance' is cheating on her!! Why not just save that money?? If you think they're cheating it seems like most of the time they are!!! Why do women feel the need to have proof??? I'm sure you can see that I totally related to Liz on this one. What I love most is that Liz doesn't just let it drag her down!!! From the day she meets Jack she feels an attraction & she runs with it!!! Literally!!!
Liz & Jack have a sizzling chemistry!! Naive Liz has been "the perfect bride to be" in the sense that she is so vanilla. Liz has always been the "good girl" putting herself in the position to make herself the trophy wife, but now Liz has had enough!! She embraces life to it's fullest & explores her sexuality with Jack without limits!! She begins to indulge in one of life's greatest pleasures & quickly realizes she loves it!!! Sex in an alley, in a strip club, making out with a woman, & even a menage a' trois with Jack & his sexy BFF!

This was a book version of porn with lots of sex scenes and very little plot and poorly developed characters. While I did enjoy some of the explicit content, the ridiculous dirty talk made me laugh, thus ruining the hotness factor.
I would have liked at least an attempt at realism and believability. Liz was a completely unrealistic and unrelatable character. She goes from being a boring girl who always did what was expected of her to a sex pro who gets wet if someone just looks at her funny. And how is it possible for her to shave her nether region every day for a week without it being on fire from terrible razor rash?
The male characters weren't any better. Todd, the fiance, goes from being boring with a penchant for strippers to a crazed rapist overnight. Jack supposedly has never considered whether he could be into guys, yet his wildest fantasy has been to share a girl with his best friend.
Worst of all, though, was that Liz can only be sexually free when she is with Jack. Why must a woman's identity depend on a man? Can't we write a strong female character who is independent and strong on her own?

Well this was definitely sexy. Lots of sex. And good chemistry between the two main characters. Oh, to be that uninhibited, lol. I found myself wanting to smack both characters though. Both of them thinking the other thinks this is short term, and continuing to believe it instead of just talking to each other. Then again, I suppose it's kinda like real life... you think you know what the other person is thinking, and rather than have the outcome you fear happen sooner, you just let things happen so you can hold on a bit longer. But what would have happened if he hadn't seen the video? Would they have just gone through life living two separate, miserable lives? Stroke of luck that he saw it.

Liz is convinced that her fiancé, Todd, is cheating on her. Not knowing what else to do, she takes advice from her friend Lynda, and sets out to hire a P.I. to follow Todd and confirm her suspicions.
Liz is caught off guard when she steps into the Jack’s office and is immediately attracted to Jack in ways that she’s never felt before. She’s secretly thankful that she chose to wear her most provocative outfit that barely covers up her “girls” when she leans over his desk.
Jack has sworn off investigating infidelity cases. He’s sticking more to high profile cases of high dollar jewelry theft, money loitering, etc. At first, he sticks to his guns, but something about super sexy Liz makes him change his mind, and he agrees to take on her case.
As suspected, Liz’s fiancé is cheating on her, however, what Jack tells Liz regarding Todd’s very late nights is hard for her to accept. In fact, she doesn’t believe him at all and insists that she see it with her own eyes. Jack agrees and the two meet up and witness Todd in the act. What happens next, awakens a sexuality within Liz she didn’t know existed.
This book was ok. The storyline was fair and at times it was just redundant. There were several eye rolling moments for me with cheese factor, but I expected them.
WARNING: There is A LOT of sex in this. Seriously. Every other page it seemed like. And by the middle, I was just worn out. If ménage, anal, f/f, sex with toys, and any other way you can imagine are not your thing, DO NOT pick up this book.

In fact, she doesn’t believe him at all and insists that she see it with her own eyes. Jack agrees and the two meet up and witness Todd in the act. What happens next, awakens a sexuality within Liz she didn’t know existed.
This book was ok. The storyline was fair and at times it was just redundant. There were several eye rolling moments for me with cheese factor, but I expected them.
WARNING: There is A LOT of sex in this. Seriously. Every other page it seemed like. And by the middle, I was just worn out. If ménage, anal, f/f, sex with toys, and any other way you can imagine are not your thing, DO NOT pick up this book.
Three stars, and that’s only because I’m feeling slightly generous today.

I'm not sure how to rate this. I have always considered Lacey Alexander (and Karen Erickson) my guilty pleasures. But this is one of those books that I feel had too much of a good thing. The sex was HOT. No doubt about that. But there was too much of it (wow....... that's something I don't say very often!)
Liz hires Jack to spy on her fiance because she fears the guy (Todd) is cheating on her. The sexual sparks fly immediately when Liz walks into Jack's office. Good start for the story. Then it goes on where not only do Jack and Liz get together, but suddenly she sheds all signs of her "good girl" persona and is willing to try anything and everything. And I do mean ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. I had no problem with most of that but I did find myself skimming over paragraphs (something I rarely do) just to get to some type of dialogue. There wasn't much. I also feel that Todd and his threats, etc. should have been described further. It was pretty much a nonevent.......... like it was only thrown in there just to add some drama or something other than sex to the story.
While I did enjoy this story, I feel that it was WAY too long for the type of story it is. This will not prevent me from reading Lacey Alexander's books in the future. I will just try to stick with the shorter ones for awhile.

What a wonderful story. The sex was hot as hell and so very many different situations, some of them truly unique. I loved following Liz through the city and watching her grow as a female and embrace her sexuality. Of course she couldn’t have done it without Jack and it was great that he was so willing to help her fulfil her fantasies, but then he too reaped the benefits. The M/F/M scene was great and I will never view private lap dances quite the same again. I only had one ick moment.
I must say when I started this book I was worried I wasn’t going to like it, due to the way Liz and Jack met. The initial chemistry between them seemed wrong. That said the author fully explains the situation throughout the story, so my worries were unfounded.
I look forward to reading more by this author.

what can I say about this book, but it was hot. the author was able to portray vivid images of male,female, male scences as well as female, female male hot sex scenes.
Liz only meets Jack becuase she wants him (the PI) to find out if her boyfriend soon to be husband is cheating on her. Jack discovers that he is not really cheating on her but going to strip clubs before coming home to her. Liz sees that as cheating. Upon watching a lap dance take place with Todd (the boyfriend)and then watches him leave to meet Liz at home. Liz feels relieved that this relationship with Todd is over. She then asks Jack how much a lap dance cost. He tells her and gets her one. When the lap dance begins Liz discovers that she never truly experience sex before. After leaving the strip club her and Jack have HOT sex in an ally and after that start seeing each other nightly and experiement with differnet circumstance and situations.
Not going to tell the rest but this is a REAL HOT READ..

Fun book. I loved how much time was given to the town of New Orleans itself. Obviously, mostly the French Quarter. ;)
Cute couple. Loved the use of all the French words in Jack's everyday speaking. I could hear his accent while reading.
Like a lot of books I read, I just want to shake the people and yell at them, "Communicate people!!!" and then everything would be fine & dandy.
