Why This Eagle Soared: A True Story About The Scars of Child Abuse

Rate this book
When lies is your cloud of darkness,
and in you alone the truth abound; as your
voice their lies have drown; but you still
stand on truth’s ground, with your voice
as the only sound.
Even though hope is nowhere to be
found; and your life is bound to merely
existing, with loneliness in sight; as your
forever gown.

Then your life’s challenge, is from
the ones you had acknowledge; now their
only strategy is to make your life a
continuous tragedy.

So your days are as black as a starless
night, for darkness looms; making your life
a gloom; and your only light is death’s anger
fume, for you to find peace and rest in
a tomb.
.
We all have different lines of challenges in life;
but those who were born to win, and make it in this
world with extraordinary success; start getting picked
on from birth; better yet, from within the womb.
It is like supernatural forces are working against
their existence.

Yet they prevail with these resounding statements;
they never knew how to quit; quitting was never
an option; there was always something inside telling
them to keep going, for there will be a better
and greater tomorrow.

Those who can soar while all odds are trying
to keep them down; but they just keep on going
higher and higher; with each height becoming
a silencer or a crumblier for the odds that tried to
keep them down, will produce extraordinary results.

I remembered when I launched my fan page
on Facebook; someone sent me a private message saying;
“Birds fly; but Eagles soar! You are an Eagle,
you must soar to your success,
you were born to do this.”

Those words have made an indelible imprint on my
mind from that day; because this was not someone
I spoke with a lot.
Her words were a resounding echo in my head;
hence, the reason behind me giving my books about
my life’s journey the title “Why This Eagle Soared”
When I thought about all that I have been through,
I said it would be too much for just one book.
Then, reading about a woman that I fell in
love with – get your mind out of the gutter,
this love is just great admiration - because of her
beautiful mind and the art that she created on her
canvas with words and a hero in my eyes – did
her autobiography in seven volumes, and the first one
she entitled; “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings”
I said to myself; “This is exactly what I will have to do,
have different volumes.”
If you have not figured it out my now, who I am
speaking about; I speak of no other, than the
great Maya Angelou.

So this is volume one of ‘Why This Eagle Soared’
as I take you through the twist, turns, ups,
downs, tears, sweat, sorrow, blackness, being lost
in my own body, death’s paw scratches at my life
and my holes from being broken and merely
existing; a journey from my entrance into this world
to my exit from high school.

I want to believe it was a starry night;
the moon came forth in her full glory;
the creatures of the night hum soundless
choruses awaiting her arrival.
