Johnny Lazarus is a rockstar who's used to getting what he wants. Money. Fame. Women. You name it. Until a coolheaded nurse makes this cocky dragon shifter burn…
Johnny has a dark secret, and the spell that helped him keep it in check all these years is about to wear off. As his control begins to slip, the famous guitarist finds the perfect place to weather the storm. And it looks like his plan to keep to himself just might work... until he meets Neve.
Neve Whittaker is known as the Angel of Malibu to the people whose lives she's helped to recover. When bad-boy rockstar Johnny Lazarus shows up, she sees him as just one more challenge. But she soon learns there's more to Johnny than meets the eye. As she struggles to unravel the mystery surrounding her newest patient, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the handsome stranger. Now she's torn between her need to help him, and her primal desires. And if she's not careful, she might end up losing more than her heart.
When things heat up, can Johnny and Neve overcome their inner demons in time to save each other, or will they both end up getting burned?
Burn This! is a steamy standalone paranormal romance!
One magical spell. A family of shifter siblings with a debt to pay. 300 moons.
This one made much more sense than the first one, but it still wasn't exactly good. The whole shadow demon thing seemed completely unnecessary. I will say that I liked the dragon, I liked that he was basically a separate entity. I have these books in the first bundle, so I'll probably work my way around to book 3, but unless it gets way more interesting, that'll be it for me.
Heroine Neve is a nurse at a rehab facility for the rich and famous. Hero Johnny Lazarus is a rockstar dragon shifter, who is desperately trying to suppress the dragon within.
Burn This is probably one of the most original dragon-shifter romances I've read. The story set-up is fresh and unique. It has well-developed, motivated characters. As in all Tasha Black books, the writing is excellent.
I read the book and has an interesting plot. It had the lady in the shoe similarity and then comes the rock star. Two different worlds that you wouldn’t have thought of, coming together. I like the young mom who has this sweet side. The rockstar, I was like give me a break! I think his character was over written. The first few pages are to much of a yadda yadda. It was hard to keep my attention with the book. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
The story is about a shifter struggle with his inner self. He then has to convince his human mate, to accept him and his animal. I liked this book and the two main characters. You have a rock star who wants to lock himself away during the 300 moon. You have a nurse who has dedicated her life to the pations at rehab center at the cost of her personal life. This is book about Johnny's love for his inner animal as well as his love for the nurse.
*WARNING* story contains explicit sexual content I absolutely loved this story but only have it three star and this is why. There was very little detail about Ms. Harkness. There was even less detail about the singing lady than there was about "mom Harkness". The build up about the 300 moons thing all through story only to get nothing at the end. The story itself was quite beautiful. Johnny's reason to sing was unique and original.
Never really ad a shifter story like this one. It's always refreshing to read a different story that's also shifter related. This one is about having a spell put on young ones that allow them to not be bound by their shifter self or need to shift for 300 moons. And then what happens on or near the 300 moon. This story involves a rock star and a nurse at a addiction clinic. Well written self-contained story.
Title: BURN THIS! Series: A 300 MOONS Destination: Book 2 Author: TASHA BLACK Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #Paranormal #DragonShifter My Score: 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ Series: 10 ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
♡■□●○•°♡■□●○•°♡■□●○•°♡■□●○•°□■♡■□●○•°□■♡ This is why I say Ms. Black has the Golden Touch, yep she did it again. This is the second book of A 300 Moons Series I love it. If you thought book one was good oh my gosh book 2 is phenomenal. Again the characters match perfectly for each other. I'm excited were going back to Tarker's Hollow with a very special Mom/Kate Harkness of Harkness Farm. Johnny Lazarus is a Dragon Shifter but he keeps him caged never letting him out. Johnny became rich n famous with his band, the Somnambulance which made him very vain. Life was good or so he thought! Things were starting to happen he didn't feel right, than Mom called wanted him home at the farm because it was time for his 300 Moons. So with end of the tour, he packed up Little Ruby and left. Neve Whittaker, loved her job at Malibu Sanctuaries. Helping patients with there addictions was her true calling she excelled in it. Some people called her “The Angel of Malibu". There new patient walked in and she knew something was different but what? I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review
Burn this is the second in the 300 Moons series by Tasha Black and I could not put it down. What were the odds that the author could top the first one? Well I can honestly say pretty high, because she obviously has no problem creating a paranormal romance that leaves you feeling warm and satisfied. Johnny and Neve are so perfect together you can absolutely taste it, it's that fuzzy feeling that makes you go all gooey inside. The feeling that tells you that all will be well in the end. In my review for Bait This, I stated that I was salivating for the next instalment, well I can honestly say that I am craving the next one. Ms. Black, You have again shown me that love is the ultimate destination and nothing can come between it and the joy that it brings. I was very kindly given a complimentary ARC copy in return for an honest review.
"Burn This!" is the fantastic 2nd book in the new series, "300 Moons"! I don't know how, but each new book by this author somehow tops the one before! Contemporary fiction with a fresh story-line and well developed characters, entertaining dialogue and some hot & steamy scenes that will keep the reader engaged & the pages turning! I did not want to stop or put it down once I started reading :o lol ... Like the Pied Piper, drawing me in- into this amazing fantasy with an entertaining story giving me an escape from every day's boring routine :) So if you love PNR like I do, with shifters & a HEA, I highly recommend you add this must read to your TBR list :D
This was a very interesting and fun book. There were some darker sides but the main idea of the book was good. I loved the characters and would definitely like to get to know more of them. This was a freebie and a shorter read, but I totally enjoyed it and had fun reading it. There were a couple typos and I think that's all I can say that was off. Great personalities, imaginative, has plenty of emotions, written well and had me turning pages. Great for anytime reading. Enjoy!
4.5 Stars rounded up! Dragon shifters and rockstars is a match made in heaven. The personalities of the main character and those professions mesh really well. I was a little worried from the blurb that I would find the hero annoying/entitled, but he doesn’t come across that way at all. I thought the chemistry between the main characters was believable, as were the conflicts they experienced.
As someone who plays a decent amount of music, I always find I have a soft spot for characters who also have that lifestyle — whether they’re college students or rock stars. It’s nice to see an author correctly convey the commitment that kind of lifestyle requires.
Neve is interesting because she’s a total workaholic, and that’s plainly addressed from the beginning. It’s nice to see her realize that she wasn’t upset about her prior breakups...and that she was willing to make sacrifices for the right relationship.
My two complaints are pretty minor and have SPOILERS.
The villain isn’t explored very much — but there is always the possibility of that being explored in later books in the series. My other complaint would be the fridge logic moment I had as I was writing this review...which is that I don’t remember a moment when where they address how they’re going to make their very different lives mesh together! Both of them exhibit a real passion for their choices of careers...and I don’t know how they’re going to make that work. Again, we’ll probably get glimpses of them in future books...but I just wish I had some closure on how on Earth they’re going to make this relationship work.
Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. I was not financially compensated for this post.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions and thoughts on this story .Johnny is a rock star and used to having anything he wants .The time is growing near when the spell cast on him as a child to help control his other side will end .Can he cast his other self aside or will it overtake him and cause the world to go up in flames .He just wants a little peace he secludes himself in a rehab facility where is meets Neve also known as the angel of Malibu to those she's helped .Neve loves what she does even though its taken its toll on her personal life when the famous Johnny Lazerous checks in she can tell there is more to this man than meets the eye but she has no idea how big the secret he's keeping is .Things heat up between them and demons rear their ugly heads in this well written and intensely emotional story .Burn This is a unique story and I fell into it quickly finding myself right there with these two as they find their way to the happily ever after that they both deserve. I would definitely recommend this book to other paranormal lovers out there .Two thumbs way way up.
Dragon-shifter rockstar Johnny Lazarus is at the top of the world or at least he should be. But the dragon that was put to sleep for 300 moons is about to come out or... else. But no one actually knows what "else" is. Johnny assumes that it means he will lose his dragon which is okay with him. The dragon has only caused him problems. So he decides to go to a rehab center because it is quiet, out of the way, and he can wrestle with his demons out of the spotlight. Neve Whittaker is a nurse (more than a nurse? I either missed the clarifications or it was never clearly stated) at the rehab center. She's met many famous people and isn't impressed by Johnny. But she is attracted to him. First his exterior and then, as she gets to know him, the man himself. They'll just have to survive the blackness that seems to be chasing Johnny. I really thought I was going to DNF this book after the first few pages. But I didn't and it was okay. There were a lot of things that weren't really explained and I didn't feel like we got to really know either Neve or Johny or why they would have an HEA. Two and a half stars rounded up.
I gave this book 5 stars even though it had a slow start. But you do need that slow start to understand the characters better. Johnny Lazarus is a rock god. Everyone loves his music, the women want to be with him and the men want to be him. He is powerful on stage, and even a powerhouse off. Now if he can keep his other self secret a while longer his life would be better. Johnnys dragon is trying to protect him, there is evil and demons around. Johnny feels it’s best to go and hide away. He commits himself to what is known as a sanctuary for the rich and addicted. This is where he meets Neve. She is the nurse in complete control of the building, the other nurses, and even the doctors. Johnny knows what it is, but now he needs to protect her from the evil that is after both him and her. How can he do that and not let his Dragon out. Like I said the book was very slow at the beginning but it explains a lot about Johnny, Neve, and also about the Harkness place. Information that is needed to understand the secret of being a shifter, the spell of the 300 moons, and what it means to be shifter in a human world.
Burn This! ( A 300 Moons Book) by Tasha Black 5 Stars
A Book I Couldn't Put Down!!!
This is one of those books that will stay with you for a very long time.

The authors writing is so engaging and magical. You can really Feel the story, like the smile you wear through most of it. But also that huge constriction of air in your throat cause you feel the pain of the words.
Your gonna Love Johnny and Neve in yet another Awesome Harkness Family Shifter 300 Moon's Story.

Neve(Snow) and Johnny the Dragon Love Tryst! 3.5***** Spoiler Alert
Neve Whittaker and Johnny met in her rehab clinic, Sanctuary, but while she thought he was wrestling with his drinking and adrenaline junkie high, she soon discovered his their secret. His 300th Moon and the releasing of his Dragon to save Neve and himself from the shadow demon. Winning the battle to the death and rescuing them from the burning Sanctuary Rehab Center, was attaining Neve his mate for life. HEA!
Characters are complex in this novel as the battle between the Dragon and Johnny played out as they fulfilled their conquest of Neve because she was 'disciplined and mentally enslaved like them, "kindred spirits" '(Black Loc 2725), hmmm!! A MUST-READ!

Neve is a nurse at an rehabilitation facility. Johnny is rock star with a very big secret. During a concert his secret was almost revealed. The answer to the oops, go to rehab for solitude and quiet reflection. Johnny soon discovers he cannot solve all his problems with rehab. Johnny is a dragon shifter but his shifting abilities were locked with magic when Johnny was young. Magic always has a price. Johnny is being chased by a violent shadow that wishes him harm and will use anyone and anything to accomplish it's goal. There are sparks flying between Johnny and Neve but being close to her only puts her in danger. I love this book, the story line was intense, the characters are amazing. This is a must read.
I really liked this book. This one might be my favorite. I mean how hot is a dragon? Ok, maybe that has an unintended double meaning. This is the story of Johnny Lazarus, a shifter and rock star. He's one of the "kids" that came to the Harkness farms sanctuary. His mother left him there when he burned down their house. He is one of the first bunch to hit their 300th moon and his beast is coming out. A little hard when you're a popular rockstar. But he decides to go into rehab to give himself a place to stay out of the public eye. Then he meets Neve and (ha, ha) sparks fly. This story reminds me of why I like to read paranormal romance. I want a dragon too!
Johnny Lazurus is a rock star like none other. He felt the music and so did his audience. The women loved him and even the men. His most famous song, Leader of the pack, had everyone howling. Everyone always wanted him to sing.....arooooo. Made him smile every time. His 300th moon was coming upon him and he had a decision to make. He checked himself into rehab. Rehab? The place to make major decisions about your life and he met Neve. Neve had him intrigued. She could calm the most restless soul of the others and show shook him to his core. Enjoy Johnny and Neve as they find what they were missing.
There are good things to say about this, but I was very distracted knowing this was going to be a mate type love story and in the beginning he’s not just a a$&hole, he’s worse. Which isn’t unusual sometimes before a guy meets his mate but what a turn off when it described him licking some other girls privates and digging her scent when you were just reading about the woman he supposed to be in love with by the end of the book and doing the same things to her eventually. Made his time with her almost less special.

I loved the dragon fighting with himself but in the end coming to realize he needed the dragon to save their mate. It was also special that the mate excepted both the man and the dragon as her mates. This had a different way of looking at the relationship between a person and their animal. A series well worth reading even if each book is a full story though sometimes they appear in other books.
I don't quite understand why that demon was after them since it was going between both of them. I don't quite understand why he wasn't embracing his dragon except if was because of what happened when he was a little boy. But it is awesome that his dragon saved them and he seems ancient but dragon is very rare especially when he was trying to convince the human that everything would be ok if the boy would give them both a choice of working things out 2gether. Can't wait 4 more asap!!
A heck of a tale, the Dragon within Johnny wanted out, now!
A dragon, a shadow demon, as well as every groupie on the tour want Johnnie, all he wants us some peace and quiet to write his songs. He gets that by putting himself in a rehab he doesn't need, where he meets his mate and hits his 300th moon. Will he keep his Dragon at bay, or learn to coexist, and will his mate adept them both?
I haven't read Tasha Black in years, unfortunately she got lost in the sheer number of authors I read. It's a good thing that I found her again, because she writes an interesting story! The characters were written well enough that their actions were understandable, and I really liked Johnny. He was very easy to visualize, and the concert scenes were exciting because of that. Yes, I'll be reading more Tasha Black, and more "300 Moons" .
Absolutely loved this book and would thoroughly recommend it and hope that others enjoy it as much as I did. This book is exciting from beginning to end with a beautiful human woman who just wants to help everyone and a handsome rock star who wants to deny the dragon inside whom he feels just causes trouble. The tale of these two is fascinating and typical of Tasha's style of writing so good. Very enjoyable.
8-20-17 For those starting this series...read Bait This first!! Wish I had. 8-19-17 Liked both main characters...story was lacking. Finished reading and was left with so many questions. Why did his arm tattoos disappear, what was the mark, reason for ghost/demon/spirit, why did it try to hurt Neve??? So much build up for the 300 moons...then story stopped.
Rocker undercover shifter thinks he can do rehab and get rid of his dragon. Obsessed therapist has no life outside her clinic. I did not like either character. Too narrow, and self-serving, and so very detached. The best part of the story are the dragon, a totally separate entity and much more interesting, and the lizard.
Johnny has a band called Somnambulance. He gets a call from his mom he needs to come home for his 300th moon. He decided to go to Malibu Sanctuary where he can hide during the moon. While there a demon shadow tries to get a hold of him and he has to find ways to stop it. I loved it when I figured out what his animal before being told and the fight in his room with the shadow demon.
