Lily Tells a Lie.

Rate this book
Lily breaks a vase and decides to lie about who broke it. It will be easy, she thinks at first, but then she realizes lying isn’t as easy as it seems.A great read for 2-5 year olds to start a dialogue about what happens when you lie. The simple story and easy to read rhymes have repetitive sight words that are perfect for beginning readers, giving them confidence at reading their first books. The entire story is about Lily and her worries after she lied and how it makes her feel. She worries that her family would be mad if they found out or that her friends wouldn't want to see her. Lily goes through all these worries in her head about what this lie might do to her relationships. It is best to start a conversation with young children about the consequences of telling lies casually rather than after they have been caught telling a fib. Get there mind to think about how others will feel when they are lied to. Start the conversation with them about honesty and its importance.Written by Torie and Sean Mathis to start the conversation with their daughter about lying. "We wanted her to start to have these thoughts herself, that there was more going on then just trying to get away with something. Lying can have long term effects, and we wanted to say more than "don't do it." We encourage you to motivate and bring out the best in your great kid! Let's raise them to be awesome adults, we need more of them! See more at YourGreatKid.com
