Cassandra Hale is a Private Investigator. Every new case is as boring as the last one until the day she is asked to find the unknown brother of a well-known business man.
Damon Sawyers disappeared suddenly seven years ago and no one seems to know what happened to him. When Cassandra's investigation brings her to Alaska, she doesn't know how close she is to finding the truth behind Damon's disappearance. And she certainly doesn't know she's about to get on a plane ride that will change her entire life.
I was born in Athens, Greece, on a cold, winter’s night, a week after the year turned 1988. I'm a romance novel writer for older kids under the pen name V. B. Andrian, but like to take it down a notch every now and then with a little YA fantasy, under the pen name Vicky Andrianson. I often mix reality with fantasy, and am awfully fond of happily-ever-afters that usually come a little hard-earned. When I’m not relieving my ever-conniving mind of its ideas, I work in the Hospitality industry, read novels, and try to find my own happily-ever-after.
This was a very sweet story. The beginning was quite slow and I was close to quitting but I'm glad I stuck with it because I really enjoyed the ending. The story really picks up at 50%.
Cassie is a private investigator and was hired to track down the brother of a billionaire. He has been missing for many years and she becomes obsessed with unveiling the secret behind his disappearance. When she does find him... lets just say he didn't want to be found. A romance begins, and Damon and Cassie can't hide their feelings. But unfortunately fate may not want them to be together in the end...
In the end we do get a HEA with a super adorable epilogue! I enjoyed this book overall but was expecting a bit more alpha tendencies from the H. He was more reserved but very passionate.. not super possessive or anything. But I still enjoyed it nonetheless!
Well paced, builds tension without descending into static boredom or overdrawn drudgery. The main characters are well thought of, almost spring to life as you read, and when the plot finally takes off it is a whirlpool of emotion and pictures that draw you in. It is as short as it needs to be, with the exposition being given relatively late in the book, but not too late. One misgiving I had was that the other characters seemed at times to be overshadowed by the protagonists at times even more so than one would expect, but it does not diminish the story, in fact at times they can provide an excellent break and excuse to see other parts of the wider plot. It does not fall into a category of books I read, but I would definitely recommend it.
Really enjoyed this one. Great story with an incredible H. H was so protective and caring of the h. There were also some hot scenes. I forward to reading more from this author.
