Pacific Northwest Werebears Book 3 - Bear With Me

Conner Rochon thought living in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest and running a logging company with his brothers was tough work. Add to that, he wasn’t too keen on sharing his body with a grizzly bear. Shifters normally had no problem with their animal side. Conner was not one of them.

Mackenzie never gave a second thought to being a shifter. She loved it and finding out that she and her cat were mated to a reluctant bear was a blow she wasn’t expecting.

Conner is tired of not being able to make his own choices in life. Is he willing to lose the love of his life to keep control of who he is? Does Mackenzie have the will to fight for them both?

Loggers, Cougars, and Werebears, Oh My!
Prepare to read about a curvy girl that meets the man AND bear of her dreams.
A bear with issues is no match for a cougar with claws.

Adult material with sexual situations and language (Conner likes to swear!)

What is the point of reading a shifter romance if there would be this much pushing and “I’m not good enough for you shit” when there’s a guarantee she’ll have to take him back because of the bond and with minimum to zero grovelling?

Kenzi deserves a medal for understanding

This is book three of the series. I have been enjoying these brothers who are bears, different types which is fun. The three bear brothers have been so good in the two previous books. It appeared that they all were ready to mate and have cubs. This book is for the youngest Connor. It’s a disaster because Connor has been denying his bear relationship since the beginning. Connor is just upset at everything. Then imagine him finding his mate. Connor lost it and is acting like a fool and a jerk. His brother Cage definitely helped to get through to Connor. Why their dad didn’t speak up and try to help Connor baffled me. His mate Kenzi deserves a medal. She was so lovely and patient. It was a frustrating read and I was tempted not to finish, but I did because I hoped that Kenzi would have her mate and her would treat her right. Thank goodness for the happy ending. Read On!

My heart...

Is aching! Holy cow I didn't think I could cry so much in one reading session. Kinzy is stronger than any woman I've ever read about. God I wanted to kill Connor but I understood. This was perfect. Loved it!

Bear With Me

Connor is so broken and cannot be one with his bear and Kenzie only wants someone who truly loves her. How this lovely bear and his cougar find their HEA is one hell of a book. This entire series should not be missed.

Stubborn Bear

Connor and his bear don't get along. When he finds his mate, he rejects the mating claim. But fate and his bear won't be denied. Danger, misunderstandings and love. No cliffhanger and Hea.

Conner

What a canoe! I am not going to lie I kind of wanted to throat punch Conner for being such a jack wagon. I loved Kensi. I will say that Conner's grand gesture was a good start on fixing his mess.

My least favorite in the series (and I've read them all as I write this). Connor was an idiot and his idiocity dragged along for too long, I got bored. That being said, I did like it :) It wasn't a bad book. The romance and heat were spot on once again.

Connor is a little whiny asshole bitch the entire book. DNF at 80%. After the first 2 books, this was really disappointing and aggravating. I want to smack him and the author.

Bear With Me is Conner and Mackenzie’s story, the third in the Pacific Northwest Werebears series. Conner’s story doesn’t have the “thunderbolt” of desire and rightness that Cage had. It doesn’t have the happy-go-lucky charm of Wyatt’s romance. In his brothers tales of love Conner was the typical youngest brother, the brunt of goodnatured brotherly jokes, the one who bolstered up his brothers when things went bad and the one who most obviously didn’t “get it” when Cage and Wyatt found their mates.

Conner has been living a lie most of his life. He resents his bear, doesn’t like the loss of control over his own life that having a fate chosen mate demands and will not give in to the shifter lifestyle requirement of claiming his mate. No, it is not his choice and he wants nothing to do with the woman the fates have stated is his one and only love.

Kenzie never shied away from her cat. She and her cat were one and they were the happiest on the run, wild and free. She knew that her mate was “out there” somewhere and one day they would find each other. Until then she put up with her mother’s matchmaking in hopes of forcing a mate bond and lived her life on her family’s vineyard. At the request of her brother, Dax, she made the trip to the logging company of a clan of shifter bears since the troubles they had had at their vineyards seems to have moved to that location. She never expected to find her mate on this trip. Never expected to discover that not a cat but a bear was the man, shifter she was fated to love forever. And never, ever expected the pain and loss she would endure when her mate rejected her. Oh, she was good enough for mindblowing sex – but nothing more. No love, no connection, no children, no life of devotion between her and this bear. How could fate be so cruel as to show her the pathway to paradise and then block her at every turn from entering.

Kenzie and Conner’s story is one of sadness, of fighting against what could be the best thing life has to offer. While the attacks on the logging company intensify, the danger to all of the family members increases. There comes a moment when Conner’s life or maybe his understanding of his life will change – but will it change him deep enough to understand the damage he’s inflicting on his mate, the one he is supposed to defend, protect and love for their lifetime.

I enjoyed Conner and Kenzie’s story very much. Probably because it shows a part of the shifter life that we very rarely read about. What happens when one soul sharing an existence denies its other half? What happens to the animal spirit when the human wants nothing to do with it? How does a woman survive knowing that the man she loves, the one she would climb over any obstacle for feels no connection to her emotionally? How can love survive unfeed?

Bear With Me is a story that anyone who enjoys paranormal romance should read. The passion is there, but the love, the acceptance is slow to show its face. Read about another side to the shifter mystery and celebrate the ones who never had to face this type of challenge. A well thought out and executed storyline.

Sorry this book is just a big disappointment, not at all what I expected from this series.
Luckily I have read quite a few of this authors books before this one so I know this is not a normal flaw.
When an author can make you feel something/anything, whether good, bad or annoyed I think that is a positive thing. Ending up really not liking the hero is a sad situation.
After books 1 and 2, I was really looking forward to this one. Apart from seeing the rest of the Rochons I was so upset and felt let down.
Conner was just a complete idiot to Mackenzie and cruel with it. His family was so ashamed of his behaviour.
He was so lucky in that his mate was also a shifter but he just behaved like a ratbag. Kept her going in circles about how he did not want a mate but had sex with Mackenzie then pushed her away again.
Connor had never made peace with his bear and thought it was controlling him, sorry, his bear had it right and Connor didn’t.
He was lucky Mackenzie was a shifter because anyone else would have killed him instead of forgiven him.
I know he will be making up for his behaviour for years but he bought the Rochon family down for me.
Unforgivable behaviour Connor. This will not be a reread for me unlike the rest of the series.

This was probably the weakest book of the series in my opinion. I didn't really care for Conner in this book at all. He came across as weak, whining and fairly pathetic. I did like where Kenzie told him she could be the strong one in their pairing if he couldn't--it was nice to see the woman not falling apart when the man was resisting their mating. It certainly presented an unusual mating plotline for this genre.

This is the 3rth in a series about three brothers that are bear shifters. Connor is not happy with his alter ego, his bear. He does not want his bear inside him. He meets Kenzie and she is his mate a cat shifter. He will not need to explain about his bear or any of the things that go with it unlike his brothers. Even then he denies his mate and she returns home sad and forlorn. Thankfully things work out for the best. I recommend reading them in order. There could be a 4th book for Kenzies brother Dax, if we are lucky.

Sensational

Connor's story was fantastic...my favorite of the Rochon brothers. His attitude and angst made me want to slap him upside the head, as if he were a real person. I do believe Kenai should have given him a harder time, made him grovel more, but I guess love is blind, especially in a romance. Now, Fax needs to get his own story, but at least he won't have to deal with Tony.

Talk about kicking and screaming. Conner and his bear is at odds. I have never read a shifter story and had the human hating the animal. Conner dislike for himself, in essence, stopped him from claiming his mate. But she was determined to have him. Just as determined as he was to have nothing to do with her.
Ahhhh but the fates will not be denied

Standalone Shifter Book in Series.

Kindle Unlimited read. The last lumberjack brother has major problems with his bear. When trouble can't be solved a fellow shifter comes to town to help find the person causing trouble. When the sister shows up all comes to a head. Good read - HEA.

In Book 3 of the Pacific Northwest Werebears, Connor Rochon doesn't want his bear, and he sure doesn't want a mate.

The baby of the Rochon clan is thrown for a loop when the sister of an old family friend gets his bear's attention. Can a California cougar and a messed up bear possibly be mates?

Lots of steamy stuff and plenty of swearing!

This was a fun series.

Enjoyed the series!

I love the thought of these big, burly men! Then I picture their huge, scary bears scratching their furry butts against a tree and have to laugh. Right amounts of family, humor, individual personalities, plot, scenery, gosh, did I forget anything? Oh, yeah! Steamy sex! I'm looking forward to Dax's story.

Cats and Bears, oh my!!

Conner has some serious internal issues to deal with. He must find peace with himself and his bear in order to be with his mate. Mackenzie is strong, but can she be strong enough to handle Conner? The mystery of the sabotaged equipment is solved, with a very fitting ending. I really like how this series ended.

This was probably my favorite so far, even though I felt like Conner was pretty whiny and annoying for most of the book. I didn't even really see any valid reason for all of his inner torment after he settled things with his bear. Maybe if that was made more clear instead of the repeated phrase "I can't", it would have made more sense.

Very good continuation of series

Conner is different with his bear than the rest of his family. Poor Mackenzie gets humiliated by Conner, more than once too. Their relationship is the most unhappy and unstable of the 3 brothers.
