5 Stars!! I started this morning and didn't stop till I was finished. Is there such a thing as Kindle burn...you know where you're swiping the pages so fast that your finger starts to get hot?! Yep...happened to me!!

This was a fast read, but oh so good! Easy to get through. Nothing missing though...angsty, humorous, snarky, witty, fantastic dialogue, heart-wrenching, loaded with sexual tension, and it all leads to a damn good ending! Old school Sandra Brown, that works in today's reading world. Just ignore the part where they watch movies on with a VCR...just read it, you won't be disappointed, it sure made me happy!

For the past few years, Lilah Mason has watched her sister find love, get married, and have children, while she's been more than content to channel her energies into her career. A physical therapist with an unsinkable spirit and unwavering compassion, she's one of the best in the field. But when Lilah takes on a demanding new case, her patient's life isn't the only one transformed.

"Nice chest hair. Very sexy."

I loved the banter between these two. They had met previously and did not like each other at all. So when they are forced together the tension sizzles.

"Pity?" she said, laughing shortly. "I wouldn't think of it. You've got enough self-pity. You're oozing the stuff. You sure as hell don't need mine."

"Snow White?"
"Never mind."
"Who am I, the Prince?"
"You're Dopey."
"Well, its easy to see who you are. You're Grumpy."

It's an old one and a bit cliched but, its SB. She is a great author. If you haven't read anything by her, you should give her a shot.

"You said that was the last one."
"I lied."
"You heartless bitch."
"You gutless preppy."

Things were swell.

"You're full of crap, Cavanaugh."

"You're a coward."

Opening Line: “It made the evening news.”

This was a pretty good read even though it’s kinda dated now (1988) and some of the themes and situations annoyed me. For the most part it’s your basic 80’s contemporary romance and doesn’t require too much brain power to get through.

Adam’s Fall is apparently book 2 in the Mason sister’s series (who knew?) but works just fine as a standalone. Written exclusively from the heroine’s 3rd person POV we unfortunately never get into Adam’s head (was that the style in the 80’s?) There is however lots of well written dialogue between the two and I really enjoyed their verbal sparring/flirting. I could have done without the heroine pulling the V card which was unrealistic, and some of the hero’s comments crossed the comfort line. Don’t get me started on the Chinese man servant and stereotyping -again I put this down to when it was written.

Rebellious and volatile by nature Lilah Mason is also very good at her job as a physical therapist. However when her sister Elizabeth approaches her about taking over the care of her boss who was recently involved in a mountain climbing accident, she flat out refuses. I mean their mutual dislike is more than obvious, every time these two get in the same room together sparks fly, barbs are exchanged and the inevitable verbal brawl commences, resulting is one or the other leaving. Lilah is always up for a challenge though and the 1000 dollars a day she’s asked for and Hawaiian location just sweetens the deal.

Adam Cavanaugh is a self-made millionaire hotel entrepreneur but that isn’t helping him right now. Bedridden after a horrific climbing accident in Northern Italy that killed his two companions he's now suffering from a severe spinal injury and for all intents and purposes, paralyzed from the waist down. Wallowing in depression and self-pity he is refusing to do anything to better his situation until Lilah walks through his bedroom door and her demanding, offensive and often unorthodox bedside manner force him to wake up and face his new reality.

She won’t stop talking or leave his room until he eats. She goads and badgers him until he uses the pull up bars, berates him until he gets himself into the wheelchair, all while strutting around in short shorts and tight T’s. But ultimately her approach also helps him to heal. Of course all this bickering is just masked sexual tension and before long Lilah and Adam have crossed the patient/therapist line. Lilah sees the burgeoning relationship for what it is through and realizes that as soon as Adam is whole again he'll walk away and unless she does something drastic he’ll take her heart with him or will he? Dun-dun-daah. LOL Cheers

I loved this book by SANDRA BROWN. When the hero Adam is hurt in a climbing accident his friends hire physical therapist Lilah to help him out. Adam and Lilah know each other and never got on well. Now Adam has to put up with Lilah in order to recover. Adam and Lilah have great chemistry together. And there was added tension when Adam's former girlfriend shows up. I found this book very captivating and hard to put down.

I look forward to reading more of Sandra Brown's books in the future.

I like Sandra Brown, even (or especially) her alphacads. This H is barely one but then he has the excuse of his condition. Here, it’s the h who is the problem.

This is the second book in the ‘Mason Sisters’ series. The older sister in the first book is a delicate feminine beauty while this h is more of a snarky kickass type. She knows the H – who’s her sister’s business associate and the h/H have a hate at first meet going for long.

She’s a physiotherapist who works with paraplegics/paralysis patients and she’s apparently very good at what she does. So, when the H gets in a skiing accident and ends up with loss of movements and sensation in his legs, the sister asks the h to go and help the H. She refuses point blank and quite callously so, imo.
Of course she agrees later but with a lot of churlishness – and at a whopping fee.

The story follows how she pushes and insults him out of his misery, anger and comfort zone to help him get better. She’s blunt and unsparing and he reacts accordingly and so they also have few sharp but kinda enjoyable exchanges. The chemistry is acceptable.

Just as things are looking up, the ow lands up ruining things on the personal as well as professional front, with her interference. The story goes into act 3 from here and an okayish reconciliation.

I like snarky, I like kickass but bitchy I don't.
And my problem with the h stems from two incidents.
One time when the H has a bad hangover and is obviously suffering, the h still wants him to get up and do his daily routine. She’s screechy, insensitive and is obviously playing the power game vis-à-vis the ow. I wanted to shout at her to get lost and leave the poor guy alone.
Other is when she callously and out rightly refuses to help the H in the beginning, whatever the reason she gave her sister – that young men in such conditions can be a real pain to work with. Obviously it’s her prerogative to refuse or accept a job but her uncaring and blasé attitude made her seem completely heartless, and kind of negates chances of hate and attraction being two sides of the same coin (imo).
I was conflicted about her anyways but I'd call her a bitch based on these two incidents.

Just so you know.. couldn't put this book down all day...NO SERIOUSLY..I COULDN'T!
..couldn't wait to read about the characters (who I fell in love with in the previous book), the story, and I was so involved with the writing I lost total track of time (sorry to my family about dinner..won't happen again..well not too soon anyway).

Highly recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance..you won't be disappointed!

Adam Cavanaugh and Lilah Mason had a history: they detested each other. Both had strong personalities with different outlooks on life. Adam was a close friend and business associate of Lilah's sister but every time he and Lilah met, they clashed. To say that they don't get along, is to put it mildly.

At the opening of ADAM'S FALL, Adam had been in a climbing accident and was suffering: he needed physical therapy. Lilah, a therapist, is called upon by family to help him. After much deliberation she agrees but only if everyone abides by her rules. Adam was furious.

From the outset, scintillating ridicule and snarky comments go hand in hand. Lilah knows that Adam is hurt and angry about what happened to his body and his friends over in Italy. He fought dirty by verbally assaulting her every chance he got. And that was fine with her. Her motto was: Bring. It. On.

If you are a medical purist, you may take issues with Lilah's style of therapy. But I believe Ms. Brown did the groundwork to learn what were accepted forms of therapy when this book was first written. Just 'suspend your disbelief'.

Adam comes on strong as a typical alpha male. Lilah had no problem jumping down his throat when he wouldn't listen to her or follow directions. Their moodiness, angst, and tension took center stage. ADAM'S FALL was unpredictably crazy but still managed to touch base with some poignancy and depth.

This story is the sequel to FANTA C but I had no problem with it as a stand-alone. I was in the mood for a quick-read to take my mind off other things. This story served its purpose.

I’ve written reviews on this several times and somehow they always disappear :) 

Anyway, here we go again. One of my favorite old category romances from Sandra Brown, Adam’s Fall plays on the Florence nightingale troupe to good effect, actually, and that’s because the heroine is well aware of it. Adam, hotel mogul and good friend of Lilah’s sister Fanta C, has fallen while mountain climbing. There is a good possibility he may never walk again. As a favor to her sister, Lilah agrees to take on his physical therapy. Only thing is- Adam and Lilah have despised each other from their first meeting.

This antagonism has masked a very deep attraction however, and it also is what will push him to heal.

Although dated (1988), I still enjoy this one every time I read it. Dialogue is key for me and the old dames of Romance sure knew how to write it. Even though written entirely by the heroine’s third person POV, you knew exactly what was going on in the hero’s head because of the brilliant verbal sparring between the two.

Quick easy read, if you like romance, easily read in one sitting. :D

The sequel to Fanta C and Elizabeth's sister Lilah's story.

Lilah is the opposite of her sister and doesn't believe a happy life with love and kids is in the cards for her. She's a self-assured physical therapist, cynical and not caring about anyone's opinion.

She also rubs Adam, Elizabeth's business partner, completely the wrong way. Adam, who is used to people obeying his every command, does not appreciate Lilah's attitude and the two have been at odds since the very first time they met.

Unfortunately, Adam gets in an accident and ends up needing Lilah's help, no matter how much he doesn't want it. As soon as she arrives at his house to start his treatment, the two of them start bickering and snipping at each other, but the attraction between them can't be denied.

A very enjoyable, if dated, enemies to lovers story with delicious animosity masking passion between the couple.

4.5⭐

A short romance novel about a rich businessman with a spinal injury and his reluctant physical therapist.

I really enjoyed reading about the exercises and techniques she use to help him regain his feeling and mobility. I was not impressed by the romance aspect.

I can't make up my mind as to whether I have read Adam's Fall prior to this or not. The story that unfolded reminded me of the novel Come Lie With Me by Linda Howard that stems from a similar theme.

Adam's Fall is book 2 in the Mason sisters series, the first book being Fanta C. Adam's Fall begins with the news that uber rich hotel entrepreneur Adam Cavanaugh was involved in a mountain climbing accident in Northern Italy, killing two of his companions in the process leaving him with severe spinal injury that has rendered him paralyzed from the waist down.

Lilah Mason is the volatile younger sister of dainty and feminine Elizabeth Mason now married to Thad Randolph who gets their happily ever after in book 1 of the series. Lilah though she resembles her sister in looks is bold and audacious where Elizabeth is not and Lilah has always gone out of her way to be as different from Elizabeth as she can be. A physiotherapist who is really good at what she does, Lilah is approached by Elizabeth and Thad both beseeching her to take over Adam's therapy sessions which at first Lilah flat-out refuses. Sparks had flown between the two whenever they had met in the past making Lilah believe that the intense dislike that she feels for Adam and what he stands for is mutually shared between the two of them.

Though reluctant, Lilah finally succumbs to her pregnant sister's pleadings and takes on the demanding task of making Adam want to walk again. A daunting prospect at best, Lilah is met with exactly what she bargained for when she took the job with a hostile, depressed and sullen Adam who doesn't believe that he would ever be wholesome again.

It is Lilah's demanding nature and slap or two on the face that wakes up Adam and makes him motivated enough to want to change his life around for the better. Amidst the constant squabbling and friendly flirting that takes place between Adam and Lilah as the weeks go by, the physical attraction that has always smoldered between them burns out of control giving Lilah her very first taste of being totally possessed by a man whose entirety is focused on giving and receiving pleasure. But before anything can come out of it, Lilah flees, knowing that her heart would just about shatter to a million pieces if she were to stand around to watch Adam walk away from her once he has no use of her.

Though I did enjoy reading this short contemporary romance by Ms. Brown, this doesn't get shelved into my favorites shelf because for some reason or the other I kept expecting more out of Adam and Lilah's relationship. I wanted a bit more passion of the explosive kind to simmer between them for a while longer before it reached its ultimate conclusion.

Sampai saatnya tiba-tiba kedatangan Lucrezia.

Freakin' Good!
Hero was a sob..Heroine just a b and somehow they b___d! Oh! I can spell that..bonded, that is..*grin*
..and to continue with the b's..bullet fast dialog delivery and a bombshell of a heroine, always ready to explode..no coy crap there! telling it like it is and boy! did she give the "other woman" a run for the hero's money;-) She was a perfect match for one of my (manyyyy) fav. kind of heros..the Grump! AWESOME!

Although Sandra Brown's books seem like racy cliches with a dying breed of openly stone-age-sexist-heros, I think she was sort of a trend setter to the more refined growl-first-grovel-later new age alphas.

Who wants political correctness in one's fantasies anyway? I say mush, mesh and man-bash later! That should be 'our' version of wham, bam, thank you ma'am!

Lilah Mason, the sister of Elisabeth in Fanta C. She is a physical therapist who is asked to help Adam Cavanaugh, a man Lila can’t stand. Rich hotel entrepreneur, Adam has a mountain climbing accident, paralyzing him from the waist down. Elizabeth asks Lilah to help with Adam’s recovery.Adam wants to wallow in his grief, but Lilah won’t let him. Adam hates her bedside manner, but under her care, he begins to see major process. He may even walk again. These former adversaries becomes friends, and soon their attraction blooms for one another.

Adam’s Fall has incredible sexual tension that builds into an explosive romance between two unlikely people who end up falling in love with each other in the most interesting of situation

When I read Fanta C years ago I never realized it was part of a series... Every time I read a Sandra Brown book I fall deeper into this hole of ( I can't really explain, I know what I want to say but the word isn't there just the impressions of the word). If you have ever read books by one author that has left you speechless that is exactly what happens to me with every story. This was a fast read, but oh so good!

Another great romance from Sandra Brown. This is part 2 of a duo and I did not realize that until I finished. It did read well as a Stand alone, but I will definitely want to read part one. Lilah is pushed into helping a friend of her sister while he struggles to recover from a terrible accident. She is a physical therapist who is task with helping a very difficult patient. It gets even tougher when she starts to fall for him.
