I don't think it's secret that I love a lot of what Harper Bliss writes. For me, this is her very best so far. Maybe I'm biased because I also loooooooove a good age gap lesbian romance, but goodness this is good. I liked the pacing, loved the characters, and felt like the first person narration was particularly effective this time. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

This was waaaaaay better than I thought it would be. Harper Bliss is one of those writers I've seen around for awhile but never read. She has a ton of books available on Scribd so I took a shot at this one since it's an audiobook. My conclusion is wow.
Many kudos to Carmen Rose for bringing this one to life. The writing was really solid but her delivery of the characters lines and inner thoughts, all with a delicious British accent catapulted the text.
This is a large age gap romance in a taboo set up; falling for your best friend's daughter. I found the ickiness of the situation removed by the fact that the daughter happens to be twenty-nine (so she's hardly young) and Alice is so inhibited and proper she would never go for a fling just because.
I've seen some other reviews criticize the story saying that they think Alice presented more as a fetish to Joy rather than as a full person and it was harder to connect to Joy because we only get Alice's point of view. I didn't have this problem, finding the relationship believable. I think that had a lot to do with Carmen Rose's reading of the story and how much emotion and sincerity she put into Joy's voice.
What I loved about the story, besides the quality writing, was that Joy and Alice constantly communicated throughout the entire read, even when uncomfortable, and are highly responsible and introspective about their relationship and its impact. It's a mature love story and not just because of the ages of our characters.
Also, there are many erotic scenes and their steaminess is off the charts. None of the scenes are repetitive and they really add to the evolution of the relationship. Their writing rivals Telanu/Roslyn Sinclair which is about the highest praise I can give it.
Overall, a really well executed age gap f/f romance with a superb narrator. 5 stars.

I'm starting to think people are going to begin to doubt my opinions and ratings when I basically come off like a broken record "this is my favorite book by Harper so far!" "this is my favorite book by Harper so far!" "Omg THIS is now my favorite book by Harper so far!". LOL!
Anyway...this is the extended story of Joy and Alice from Harper's story The Power of Words in her mini-anthology Opposites Attract where we met the uptight, closed off, and very rational minded, middle aged Alice and her complete counter-part in the bouncy, bubbly, free-spirited 29 year old Joy.
What begins as an annoyance at having her boss' daughter crash her vacation at said boss' vacation home, quickly becomes a story of self-discovery and acceptance. Alice has been divorced for 15 years, having been married to her job more than to her husband, and is being forced to take a much needed vacation by her business partner and friend. She has finally convinced herself to take it easy and relax a little when her business partner, Miranda, calls to tell her that her daughter Joy is going to crash there for a few days before she starts her new job. Alice isn't exactly thrilled to have her alone time interrupted, especially by that of a way to young and flamboyant girl.
As days go on, however, Alice finds herself more and more able to relax and let loose in front of Joy. And before she knows it she is confronting feelings that she very stoically tried pushing away. Her attraction to her best friend Miranda's daughter. Alice has never had an attraction to a woman before, at least that she can remember. She was a little too caught up in her career to notice that she wasn’t even that attracted to her ex-husband. She was just doing what she had always been raised to do and figured that was happiness.
It was heartbreaking as well as uplifting to watch Alice come to terms with her feelings and her decisions. Although the story The Power of Words is a great erotica story, this really takes that concept and shoves it into the light of the realistic world and allows us to get a glimpse of truly how difficult it would be to be in that situation. There were a few times I really just wanted to cry, Alice was breaking my heart that much. I felt that all of the characters acted fairly realistically for the situations they were involved in and, as always, they were so real and so relatable I could easily picture knowing these people in real life. I truly commend Harper for always creating such well-balanced, meaningful, and thought provoking characters.

This was my first book by Harper Bliss. She is renowned for erotica and steamy sex scenes, but I found that this book was really much more than this.
I chose to read it for the love story with a big age gap.
I asked myself why I like this kind of romance and my answer is that they highlight femininity in a broader spectrum, its charm has a greater variety, assuming both young and mature colors. Also, in the couple, there's a compensation, a positive influence in values, in thoughts and in actions. When the relationship is harmonious, it's truly a beautiful thing to read.
Seasons of Love is a nice, well written age gap love story between Joy, 29 years old, and Alice, 51.
In addition, there's of a touch of impossible to overcome, because Joy is the daughter of Miranda, Alice's best friend and business associate.
There's sex, there are feelings, there are difficult choices to make, and also angst.
Sex is intense and well written, even if there's much, expecially in the first part, it's never annoying.
In the first part of the novel, the main characters are alone and on holiday in southern Portugal's summer, so the situation is conducive to exploring sexually. .
Angst is generated because Miranda, who is very important to both Joy and Alice cannot accept their relationship and . A good part of the book deals with this issue.
The biggest flaw of the story, in my opinion, is the developing of the feelings of the couple into love. It lacks depth and proper attention. The passage from initial sex to the feeling of love is given for granted, it's hurried and not described accuratedly. Having great time physically does not automatically provide for so much more as it's hinted here.
However, and on the contrary this is the greatest strength of the book, once it's ascertained that they love each other, they really behave coherently.
Joy is a sort of heroic character. She fights for what is important, with teeth and determination, when needed. Alice is full of doubts and insecurities, but she always does the right thing at last.
They are complementary and they positively influence each other as I was saying above. Joy's life need the solidity provided by Alice. I perceived her late youth as a little void of important things, as she refuges herself in too much wine and light entertainments.
And Alice need to come back to living, after the divorce and many years of solitude and resignation. Joy is an injection of freshness, vitality and color in her life, a spring of happiness, as her very name suggests.
I'm giving 4.5 stars (and round up because I feel happy)

I think I’ve decided that Harper Bliss just isn’t for me. I’ve read two of her books now and I’ve found them both to be pretty boring :( I’m bummed because I’m always on the hunt for F/F romance, but these just don’t seem to be working for me.

There were certain things that I found a bit annoying about this book, like the repetitive "cougar" remarks for example. The fact that Alice had gone 15 years (!!) without being intimate with a partner and yet allowed herself to be swept off her feet in just few days and by a woman no less, having in mind that she was presumably straight, just felt unconvincing.
The age gap did not bother me at all since I've been in a similar relationship myself, and being the younger person in it I found the perspective of the older woman in this book compelling. I liked how well fleshed out Alice's inner thoughts were and how she managed to act in a respectful manner towards Joy.
I think the ending was a bit abrupt and I wanted another scene between Alice and Miranda, one in which they actually came to terms as adults, through listening and regarding the other person's point of view and feelings. They basically went from ugly confrontations at work to ironic jokes in the back of a taxi of all places.

Wow!
This book left quite an impact. So what did I love?
1. The cover (4 stars)
Just look at it. It's got it all. The holiday feeling we have in the beginning. The easy and carefree atmosphere that leads to the crumbling of Alice's rigid self-constructed walls.
Then the play of words integrated into the title (Seasons - spring and autumn) finds its expression in the scattering of autumn leaves intermeshed with the boldly written title. Maybe it doesn't make sense on a superficial level that the body hovers above the water and even has a drop-down shadow, but I understand that the watery background was done for the purpose of creating this beautiful colour scheme.
2. The way this whole thing happened. This romance totally surprised me. Of course, I knew there would be one, but it totally crept up on me. There I was getting to know Alice, being at once exasperated with her and sort of understanding her as well. She wanted some alone-time and there comes this loud and vibrant as well as brash young woman and encroaches on that. Suddenly she finds herself enjoying her company even though she'd never have imagined doing that, plus feeling something she can't even articulate. Talk about self-denial. This woman is totally blind to herself. But haven't we all been there at least to some degree?
3. Joy is quite a telling name in this novel. She is the sunshine and the driving force of this romance. Even though she is very much younger than Alice (hugely so), she the mature one, she doesn't question their love and is far more forgiving of Alice's doubts and hang-ups than I ever would have been.
4. I like that the conflict doesn't seem contrived, but is a natural part of the plot. I'll sketch out what I mean. We have Alice and we have Joy, who is the daughter of Alice's best friend and business partner. Alice is a workaholic. She was married, but he left her for a younger woman. She hasn't had a relationship since and apparently not a significant relationship before this. Joy, on the other hand, is openly lesbian and apparently likes older women. In this get-up, we already have the whole conflict. What is there to overcome? First of all, Alice has to realise what she feels for Joy, second, we have the age-gap, third, we have the complication of Joy's mother being Alice's best friend.
The whole conflict is solved with a little bit of angst, but not too much. I like that the characters keep talking to each other or at least don't sulk for weeks on end.
One minor criticism: I would have liked more build-up to Alice's realisation. I get that it was just a short holiday and came out of the blue, but really - what do the two women see in each other? It is there, but I would have liked more of that.

I weren't able to finish the book entirely. Attempted to re-read and realized that the 22yr age-gap wasn't the problem, it's totally fine actually, I liked Alice so much more than Joy, Alice is endearing. Put simply: If you don't care for romantic attachment, and just want a raunchy erotic read with a splash of social stigma, then this is probably for you.
The problem I found was that the relationship feels forced. It rely purely on what feels like a fetish that Joy nurtures, and that is pretty much it. I wish there was a genuine buildup for the relationship, it would have eased the 22yr difference, being a few years younger than Joy I found it a little too forward. Going from meeting to sex, doesn't feel genuine, not with Alice supposedly being this uptight woman. Especially since she's never EVER been with a woman, much less had sex with one, much less one 22yrs her junior and daughter of her long-time friend AND business partner. Did I mention she hasn't dated in 15years? There is about four days from her being outrageously embarrassed about Joy not wearing a bra, until they fuck. Excuse me, but what happened here? Joy partly feels like a bully and the emotion buildup just isn't there, there is very little conversation to make up for the trust Alice gives Joy.
I loved the idea, it has SO much potential! I just wish the author wasn't so quick on the fan-service sex trigger and actually built something genuine so there was a reason to feel stronger for their relationship aside from just... Sex.

Love at any age
Based on Ms Bliss' short story The Power of Words in her mini-anthology “Opposites Attract” this is the full length drama of Joy and Alice. It is also Alice's coming of age story. Alice is a 51 yr old lawyer who has gone to spend a holiday in her law partner, Miranda's, vacation home in Portugal. While there Miranda's 29 yr old daughter arrives to spend a few days in the sun before starting a new job. Over the course of these days Joy has dragged Alice out of her ultra conservative, prim and proper life. Joy has rocked her world to the core. She not only sleeps with the nubile young creature, she has fallen in love. Can their love survive the cold reality of daily life back in the city? How will Alice face Miranda knowing she is sleeping with her daughter? Are they doomed before they even begin? Guess you will have to see for yourself.
This book is told from Alice's POV. This straight laced divorcee has little in her life but work. She limits her alcohol to 2 glasses (even while on vacation), works out 45 minutes a day on her treadmill while working, and exists but doesn't really live. Joy on the other hand is a free spirit, she lives life to the fullest and as such is considered to be immature and spoiled by Alice until she spends more time with her. Joy goes topless by the pool, swims naked in the sea, loves her phone, has friends, drinks to excess but really lives. Her character undergoes a lot of change as well. She goes from a wild, spoiled woman child to a loving, giving, ready to settle down with one person partner.
I loved how Alice spends so much time in her head. There is a lot of introspective inner talk. She starts out ultra refined reflecting ton how disrespectful today's kids are. She questions herself, her reactions to Joy and her changing feelings. She worries about everything and questions herself, her new relationship, her friends reactions and her right to stay in the closet. It is really interesting to watch her character grow and open up. Her insecurities make her so much more lovable and human. Combined with Joy's unbridled energy and passion they are quite a couple with a lot to teach each other.
The love scenes were hot as per usual Ms Bliss but different from her normal. Alice experiences them in a reflective, through her eyes style, “I feel this” or “I can't believe she is touching me there” and “Oh that is so good” sort of way. I found I really enjoyed experiencing a sex scene this way and I thought it was even hotter, making me feel more like a voyeur.
Kudos to you and thank you for another beautiful book Ms Bliss.

Her insecurities make her so much more lovable and human. Combined with Joy's unbridled energy and passion they are quite a couple with a lot to teach each other.
The love scenes were hot as per usual Ms Bliss but different from her normal. Alice experiences them in a reflective, through her eyes style, “I feel this” or “I can't believe she is touching me there” and “Oh that is so good” sort of way. I found I really enjoyed experiencing a sex scene this way and I thought it was even hotter, making me feel more like a voyeur.
Kudos to you and thank you for another beautiful book Ms Bliss.

This was my second time around for Seasons of Love and to experience this all time favorite as an audiobook was quite different but an equally good one. Added bonus was the narration done by Carmen Rose who, with her sexy posh English accent (think Downton Abbey), made this quite a fun experience.
I don't often use the word perfect when it comes to a book, but this time I do. I liked it, didn't love it but I liked it. The writing is solid, the themes predictable but necessary, this is after all an age gap romance story with everything that usually entails. Maybe a bit too much cliche but it was not what bothered me.
I'm not a huge fan of the 1st person story telling because we got only one side of the story. I'd like to read about Joy's thoughts and inner conflicts and reasons to commit to this journey. And because we don't get her point of view their relationship feels superficial, that she's only after attractive older women, doesn't have to even be Alice.
But it is what it is and feel the book deserves solid 3 stars.

Unconventional love story between 51 year-old Alice and her best friend and business partner's daughter, 29 year-old Joy. Harper Bliss once again delivers a story that combines romance and hot scenes while at the same time doesn't shy away from deeper issues such as age gap, life meaning, friendship and relationships. All of the above presented in a well written and realistic book.
Highly recommended if you are interested in romance with some substance.

An age-gap romance laced with forbidden desires, a heap of realism, and the most splendid use of tone I've seen in a romance book thus far.
Alice is a fifty-one year old lawyer who has been divorced for fifteen years and counting. Her best friend and business partner Miranda, insists Alice takes a vacation to Portugal where Miranda owns a holiday home. Reluctantly, with Alice's acceptance, things begin to change.
Upon arrival at the holiday home, Alice learns that Miranda's daughter Joy, is going to be joining her for a week before jetting off to a new job. Unable to refuse her best friend, Alice finds herself in the company of a woman twenty-two years younger, and filled with the vibrancy of life that Alice can't help but appreciate and admire.
A romance blooms, friendships tether on the edge, and a decision between happiness or complacency must be made.
The best parts
Written in first person, Harper Bliss makes exceptional use of Alice's voice and uses this insight to properly delve into the concerns and doubts of being in a relationship with a large age-gap. Seasons of Love squeezes everything Alice's voice can give and constructs a tone so poetic, that everything weaves itself into a basket so beautifully made that I was left speechless for a few days.
What didn't this book give? It gave us a late coming out, it provided a forbidden romance - age-gap, best-friend's daughter - and it delivered. The stress from dealing with everything could be felt so acutely in Alice's tone and inner most thoughts that I, as a reader, did not feel left out of anything. Every sore spot was touched, every ache and pain examined until there was nothing left but a very satisfying cure.
One thing I absolutely loved was how Bliss handled Miranda's reaction. Every bit of it was realistic and justified, and it added so much depth and flavour to this story. I cannot sing enough praises.
The other parts
The only complaint I had was that Joy's character tended to slip into the annoying category one too many times. I found her disrespectful and abrasive - and even if Alice did call Joy out on it, and it was acknowledged in the book, Joy herself didn't have much character growth.
Overall
I was pleasantly surprised at the way the plot was handled, and the tone of the book overall. This was my first Harper Bliss book, and I liked how clean and precise the language was.
4 stars for plot, execution, and the Main Character's growth. took away one star because I didn't really like Joy, and she was quite literally the other quarter of this book. Would definitely read another Harper Bliss.

This book showed up in my inbox after I was having an extremely bad day! This person knows me and knew I would love this book. Once I started it...I couldn’t stop. I have always stated age is just a number. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason as well. This book combines both of those concepts. The MC’s were amazing and the chemistry was crazy. This book shows that loves holds no boundary’s no matter how old or what type of person you are.

Ever wished a book could be your life? Yes, that is what this book did to me and it also held a few parallels that I could personally relate to that emotional swept me away and left me unable to put it down. This had everything I could want and was the perfect age gap romance. It was hot, romantic, angsty and filled with all the drama you could possibly desire. It was wildly energetic and I thoroughly found myself lost in the story.
Joy and Alice have this brilliant relationship, and its Alice’s hesitance and insecurities that really made the story as it was from her point of view. I could easily put myself in her shoes, understood the situation perfectly and could see all angles but I was rooting for her and Joy’s happiness the whole time. I love the subject of age gaps, they are so dividing of opinions and can cause complications, which Harper perfectly captures in this story, but most important message of all, really age is just a number.
This book was everything and then more! In some respects I hope there will be more from Joy and Alice in future, and in others this story alone is an epitome of perfect as it is, I am so conflicted that I don’t know what I want! I highly recommend it and it is definitely going down as one of my all time favourite age gap romances. It was such a highly emotive read and I loved every second of it.

One hell of an interesting read; age-gap, a really big gap - 22 years to be exact, romance with your best friend’s daughter! We know it’s a HEA at the end of it but the ride to get to final destination was pretty bumpy. Kudos to Alice and Joy for always communicating with each other even though the topic at hand is heavy. Enjoyable read and couldn’t put the book down until well into the wee hours! And oh....the sex scene are pretty steamy ☺️

Sweet and amusing romantic tale. Unlike most older-younger relationship stories I have read, this actually puts the driver as the younger and that on its own is so refreshing and just makes the story exciting to read on.

I enjoyed this book even though the age gap was borderline for me. But that’s just me and no reflection on the book. It’s well-written and the characters are believable. Certainly worth a read.

This book should come with a 'do not read in public' warning because I guarantee this book will give you the wonderful combo of blush/squirm/swoon.
It is really well paced . I was particularly impressed that the story keeps its momentum when the setting moves from the holiday setting to home [a number of other lesroms / les-eroticroms have faltered at this point]. It also has just the right amount of angst - enough to keep the angst lovers out there happy while not scaring away those that like their protagonists to have a stress-free path to love / hot pwoarrring etc
Our two leads have distinct personalities although we've seen similar regularly crop up in lesrom/les erotica: Uptight exec that has lived for work (Alice), and free spirit with zest for life including an appreciation for the finer things in life [including the merits of an older woman] (Joy). However I like these tropes and Bliss' skillful characterizations keeps them fresh [or maybe my penchant for uptight exec finds what she's been missing type stories is yet to be sated and Bliss played right into my hands. Either way I was happy :D ] The main supporting character - Alice's business partner, and Joy's mother - Miranda - could easily have been drawn as one-dimensional and melodramatic [what do you mean you're togetherrrrr *hand moves to forehead dramatically] but is given enough attention to play an engaging foil to the leads.
I am also coming to appreciate more and more the art that is a well-written pwoarrr scene - and, as one would expect from a Bliss book, this book has them in abundance (although not so many that it becomes yawn-making). Rarely, if ever, did I find myself having to re-read bits trying to work out 'whose hand is doing *what* now?' or 'but how is she reaching there if they're in *that* position?!' In Bliss books, character growth and/or relationship growth are reflected in the type of pwooaar they have and the character's reactions to said pwoarrr -- and Seasons of Love has a number of these powerful moments. Bliss uses some really beautiful, poetic language to convey the sensations/feelings a character is experiencing during these scenes .
So. Good plot, engaging characters, good pacing, well proofed, hot pwoar and some romance - why not 5 stars??
When it came down to it, I just couldn't quite get over the fact that premise of the novel is about a character falling for her best friend's daughter. As in someone she as an adult held in her arms when she was a baby. I don't have a problem with May/December romances [if you do, then this book is definitely not for you] -- it was the additional 'known literally all her life' factor that I just couldn't quite embrace as much as I wanted to. Maybe it was a bit too close to home for me because a few of my close friends have all given birth in recent months... but I couldn't quite get out of my head that this book is about a relationship that would be like me falling in love with one of these just-born kids. This slight, but 'there', ick factor meant that this book didn't quite have the x factor for me that I need to give a 5 star rating.
Overall, though, this is a compelling addition to the les erotic/rom genre. Highly recommended.

4 stars. This is an age gap, opposites attract, sexual awakening, mother’s best friend romance. Like, look at those tropes. I love it here. This is the full length novel of Bliss’s short story ‘The Power of Words’ from the Opposites Attract anthology and that was one of my favorites from that collection. I didn’t even realize this was the novel when I picked it up so that was a pleasant surprise to see Alice and Joy get a fully developed romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Alice is in her fifties and is such a stuffy and uptight person. She’s all about her job and has no time for love and romance. Whereas Joy is in her late twenties and is very much free spirited. She’s also a proud lesbian who is into older women so she pursues Alice and it was so much fun. I can see why others didn’t like this as their relationship does develop really fast but I bought into their chemistry so it didn’t bother me in the slightest. I really loved them together and how much Alice was able to come out of her shell and learn to relax and live a little. There’s a bit of drama and angst thrown in towards the end but the HEA was great. Overall, this was a lovely read and I had a great time with it.

Alice was struggling to come to terms with her new life. Sparks flew, the sex was hot, lust and love grew quickly. Everything was against her code of ethics. It wasn't acceptable. I could relate to a lot of Alice issues. Running a business with her best friend became a big obstacle and could be the end of a new beginning. I really liked the characters and their antics. I loved Joy's personality, she knew what she wants and would do anything to have it. I really devoured this book. You have to read it for yourself and I am convinced that you won't regret it.

I just can't get enough of a romance between two characters with a big age gap. I felt this book was well done and a very sweet romance between the two. I found their relationship very mature and liked that they communicated well. I think sometimes authors think bad communication is the only way to create angst. It was nice to read a book with a relationship who communicated well but there was still a good amount of angst in the book. Nicely done

Okay, I'm putting this one down at 39%. I don't like the narration, or either ones of the heroines. Alice is boring and a liar (or is it old age that makes her change things, like how much she drinks), and Joy is just annoying and a cardboard cut out. She's young and that's all I can say.
When I bought this, I thought "It's only 99p, so I won't be upset if it sucks, but you know what, I'm miffed at how dumb this book is.

This story is told in first person present tense, something I’m not normally a fan of as few authors pull it off well, often slipping into past tense and back again. Thankfully this story didn’t fall into that trap, and I found myself loving the narration, like I was living everything in real time right along side Alice! And boy, what a journey she took me on.
I’ve said it before; Harper is my go to author for well written, spicy, lesbian romance. That said not every book has been a winner for me… but this one blew me out of the ballpark. Which has set the bar extremely high for what she writes next. Or for any other book I pick up in the genre come to think of it.
There’s a large age gap between our two ladies, which I thought I might find a little creepy as in mother/daughter getting intimate creepy, but not once did I get that vibe.
Joy’s a feisty character, very sure in her own skin, and at times came across as the more worldly one of the two, not surprising given the sheltered life Alice had lived, burying herself in work after her marriage failed.
At times Joy pushed Alice’s buttons, and drove her to drink. Speaking of such, both ladies had a healthy appetite for the bottle. Being a connoisseur of wine myself I had no issue with their drinking, although the early morning champagne Joy partook in gave me pause. Alice did a great job not admonishing her like a naughty girl, as I felt like doing so and I’m a decade younger than Alice.
Once the holiday was over and they had to return home, life was far from easy. I found myself musing many times, how I’d break it to a friend I’d hooked up with their child, and likewise how I’d feel if my best friend slept with my child, grown or not. And that is what made this story for me. It made me think, it made me feel, it made me laugh, it almost bought me to tears. To summarize, this story sucked me in from the beginning, chewed on every emotion, and then spat me out at the other end.

Being with her brings out a different side of me. A side I like. She makes me more communicative, more in touch with my emotions, more ready to share. More alive.Well, this was much more enjoyable than I expected! It's about Alice, a 51-year-old woman who basically lives to work. She's completely devoted to it. Her only friend is Miranda, her business partner, who encourages her (that's to put it nicely, as she gives her no other option) to take a two-week vacation at her holiday house in Portugal.
The first day is fine, Alice is beginning to feel a bit relaxed, but that quickly changes when Miranda's daughter, Joy, decides to spend a week there as well, as a way to relieve stress before starting her new job. 29-year-old uninhibited and shameless (who also happens to be a lesbian, by the way) Joy... who very much like the synopsis says, turns Alice's much more mundane and quite inhibited world upside down.
A lot happens during their vacation. In a matter of days, Alice experiences a new form of love, sex and desire, and she can't help but wonder: "What is happening to me?", "Who am I?", "How can I feel this way for this young woman (who enjoys being topless without considering my feelings about it!)?", "This woman who's also my best friend's daughter!". And it was just such a fun ride, exploring with her what she's feeling and the questions, guilt and insecurities that arise in her mind. Can she indulge in this new experience Joy's offering her, or find a way to go back to being "old Alice", the Alice she thought she new for so many years, who can't possibly be having these feelings for, not only another woman, but her best friend's 29-year-old daughter?
And Joy is such a joy to be around... sorry, haha. She's a very fun and likable character. Very "wise beyond her years", who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. She's young, determined and so full of life, and sees in Alice what she doesn't show to the world and takes pleasure in exposing that version of her.
It's a story that's of course predictable, but very sweet, sexy and entertaining . It was a very enjoyable read!

I certainly have a soft spot for May-December novels, and this one was definitely one of the most fun to read. I've read lots of novels and novelettes written by Harper Bliss, but somehow Alice stays my favorite character so far. As I was saying to Harper Bliss in one of the messages, I really loved the way she wrote Alice; her inner thoughts, monologues, aspirations, sarcasm are very realistic and coming with certain age. She is in love, but without being delusional, giddy, and is very aware of the consequences that relationship brings if she acts on it.
Joy, however, was not exactly my cup of tea, but without a doubt, is perfect for Alice! Nevertheless, seemingly immature and irresponsible Joy shows great maturity in the most important moments. Because of Joy being the way she is, this book has a fantastic "opposites attract" aura around itself, and the aforementioned relationship has a very sexy, explosive dynamic, making the book "a must read" for us keen lovers of Lesbian romance fiction.

I really enjoyed Seasons of Love. I loved the conflicts that Ms Bliss brought into her main character, Alice, and watching the story unfold. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll be careful. First, we have a woman, fiftyish, who's a hard working lawyer. Her business partner suggests she take some time off in Portugal. Alice is no good at vacations, but she goes. When she gets there, Miranda the business partner calls to say her daughter Joy needs to come over to the vacation house for a little while. That's okay, isn't? And Alice assures it is. Then while Alice is relaxing on the shies lounge by the pool, the bouncy, bubbly and totally gorgeous Joy shows up with her killer body that she never tries to hide. Personally, I preferred the staid, very proper Alice, but I loved seeing Joy unnerving Alice. I won't say more. I don't want to give anything away. But it's sure worth a read. I had a great time with this one.
