Where to start with this...

I loved the premise, but it’s been a long time since I’ve come across an execution as bad as in this one.

The dialogue was so unrealistic I kept rolling my eyes.

----Spoilers ahead----

Patrick and Logan meet each other in the gym. Logan starts flirting with Patrick and Patrick is not immune to it. But after this first meeting there is already talk of a relationship. It was way too fast for me to believe in any of it.

This is what Patrick says after the first meeting:

”I’ve never looked at a guy, seriously I mean, but I do feel this connection with you. It is a very comfortable feeling.”

Wow, that’s fast.

And video phone sex after two meetings?? Initiated by the straight Patrick?

description

Third meeting, in public, goes like this.

I fell into his hug, and relished the feeling, letting him squeeze me tightly. I pulled my head back and stared at his face, and instinctively, we fell into a kiss.

Where is the doubt? The ‘OMG, I am attracted to a man!?!’ kind of internal conflict? Well, not here.

And then we get the most terrible kind of angst there is. Artificial angst!

“I want to come over, Pat. I am so damn horny. Been thinking of you all day. We need to consummate this relationship.”
“I am so out of it. My back and shoulders ache from sitting all day.”
“Well then, I am coming over right now to take care of you.”
“Logan, no. But thanks. In the morning I have to go back in to the office. I wish you could, but not tonight.”

He comes over anyway. And Logan gets mad when Patrick doesn’t want to call in sick the next day.

This GFY was so unrealistic, I have no idea why that angle was even used. It could have been a better story if the GFY aspect was totally taken out of it.

I do not recommend this one.

Patrick is a lawyer who has recently broken up with his long time girlfriend. He thinks that he should be more upset over this, but he really isn't. He comes to the understanding that they were just comfortable in their relationship...too comfortable. They were only still together because it was nice to have someone there for you at the end of the work day. The spark was long gone out of their relationship. Due to his busy and hectic work schedule Patrick isn't really thinking about a social life, he doesn't have the time to worry about that.

He uses his time at the gym to both relieve the stress of the work day, and to keep his body in shape. While he is there he gets better acquainted with Logan, who is a fellow lawyer. They know of each other, but are not exactly friends...yet?. Logan has admired Patrick from a far, and they start to have this flirty little banter between them that quickly turns to friendship, and Patrick starts to wonder if he wants it to progress into something more. Could he really have a relationship with another man?

He has never been attracted to another man before, so these feelings are all new to him. He doesn't deny them, hide it, or try to run away from it though, and I like that about him. The happiness that he has with Logan is more important to him than what other people may think. He decides that he is happiest when he is with Logan, and he has an unexplainable connection with him. He feels like they have known each other for far longer, and this connection feels too right to not embrace it and pursue it to see if it will work out.

As always life and work get in the way which only brings doubts into Logan's mind. Is Patrick having second thoughts? Does he really want to pursue this relationship, or is he just trying to let him down easy by using the too busy with work excuse? Will they ever get to take their relationship to the next level, or will aggravation and hurt feelings over too little time together ruin everything? Will things work out between Patrick and Logan or is this relationship doomed to be over before it even truly began?

As other reviewers have said before me the phone call scene is definitely a favorite moment in the book, so for hot moments like this, and to see if Patrick and Logan get their happily ever after, I recommend this book.

Thank you P.J. Nevada, again it was a pleasure to read and review your book. I received a complementary copy in exchange for my honest review, opinions expressed are all my own. 3.5 Stars

Fantastic I was eager to read this one as it has a gym storyline. I definitely wasn't disappointed at this one. The funny banter between them as they met, the eyes connecting to feel something. The old man (sorry an inside book joke lol) is straight which does stop Logan making a play for him but it's not smooth sailing. The characters have a connection which i felt reading with Patrick and Logan as work interferes. The ending was perfect having 2 cupids working together..you'll have read the story to see who's playing cupid.
Patrick 36 yrs was checking out a guy at the gym reconizing he was another attorney. Patrick was straight and thought it seemed werried for himself to do this.
Logan was younger at 28 and has a huge crush on him.  The story is mostly from Patrick's point of view, I would have like more of Logan but I enjoyed it away. I think I'd definitely re-read this when the mood strikes for a hot gym book (definitely need more of these, hint).

A Joyfully Jay review.

I was a bit leery that a gay for you/out for you romance would seem unrealistic given the time constraints of a novella, but I have to say that this one was done so well that even I believed that a straight-identified man could easily fall under Logan’s spell. I could feel the instant chemistry between these two just with their banter!

Despite this being a novella, the author didn’t skimp on the sexy scenes. I am surprised my kindle didn’t overheat as nearly every time these two are together the sparks were flying! Not to mention that there is probably the hottest phone/video sex scene I’ve ever read!

My only complaint about this story is that I didn’t want to see it end. I wanted more!
Overall, I really liked this story. If you want a quick out for you, erotic novella to read, you’ve got to check this one out.

Of all books by P.J. Nevada I've read so far, I think I like this the most! So you can call it one of my favorites now, for sure. I love both, Logan and Patrick, they're just adorable and gorgeous....and hot. When they meet and the flirty teasing starts you can almost see the sparks fly and how they're drawn to each other. It's just awesome, reading it, I couldn't stop grinning myself. Logan is such a flirt, no surprise that Patrick falls so fast and intensely head over heels, he just knows what he wants and thats definitely sweet Logan. And just thinking of the "phone call" on sunday morning *fanning myself* holy hell, that was hot. But when reality and their work-life hits them, well, it got me slightly teary and sad as well as Logan and Patrick. But if they'll find a way or not, see yourself, it's so dang worth it!! I love it! Highly recommended!!
