About the author

Ann is Queen of the Castle to her wonderful husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she's been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead(though she will deny to her children that it ever happened).

From a young age she's been fascinated by myths and fairytales, and the romance that often was the center of the story. As Ann grew older and her hormones kicked in, she discovered trashy romance novels. Great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she's never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her 'sexy space' and has learned to type one handed while soothing a cranky baby.

This story picks up after that bombshell cliffhanger ending from Alexandr's Cherished Submissive. Seems that Jessica & Taitiana are alive and well though Alex has lived through hell thinking they were dead. Now returned to him, he vows never to be separated again. He's been given a second chance and doesn't plan to waste it.

If you think their future is now all shiny, bright and filled with sunshine and rainbows though, think again. Alex is a prominent figure in the Russian Bratva so with the return of Jessica a big red target is painted on her back by those who want to bring him down for good.

Ahhhhhh, I love this author and her uncanny ability to weave a complex story line with toe curling adult content romance to create a special experience for the reader. It becomes difficult to utilize sleuth skills to solve the mystery-suspense aspects of the story when being bombarded with HAWT (and I mean five alarm volcano intensity) BDSM driven erotic scenes. They don't call her Mistress Ann for nothing.

I had purchased Alexandr's Cherished Submissive but did not read it as I'm not a fan of cliffhangers so I put it aside until both parts were released. This month I am in a reading challenge that included a tag that fit this book so I decided to jump into it still without reading the previous part. Confession time... I cheated. Got into the first chapter before realizing I was missing key info. So. Take a flogger to me. I read the last couple chapters of part 1 to get up to speed. They say confession is good for the soul so I admit my disgraceful conduct ........

This story picks up immediately after the part 1 cliffhanger bombshell. For potential readers I do suggest not going into this cold for the reason I shared in the previous paragraph. Alex and Jessica are reunited but it comes with a whole new can of worms, the obvious one being why she left and stayed away. Trust, deceit, and family loyalties come into play as the whole story comes out. Add to this the Bratva side of things where Alex has embraced his heritage since Jessica's supposed death. With a wife and child now in the picture things get a whole lot more complicated. Especially as the REASON behind Jessica's absence is still very much part of the picture. dum dum dum sound effect. Additionally, there is a doomsday prophesy subplot (vague non spoiler reference... gold or silver) that drove me bonkers ultimately almost resulting in throwing my e reader across the room. Chalk it up to devious author mindf*cking her readers syndrome. Vague cryptic prophesy of my own: RIP Jorge.

Moving on to the romance. Adult BDSM erotica content all the way. The BDSM action includes mf, mff, ff, mfm, and mffm with one really noteworthy group sex scene that I'm still in afterglow over. Regretfully, those teased at, no mm action to anticipate. :(

The cast of secondary characters support the story line and add a lot of depth and juicy adult intimacy scenes. I see follow up potential for many of the Bratva characters but do think if that were the case it will come in a spin off series sort of thing. Personally I'm crossing my fingers for Krom, Zoya, & Gwen to have their stories told. Maybe together even

I love the majority of works published by this author as she has a way of maximizing the reading experience with just the right formula of complex story line content and toe squirming BDSM play. For those familiar with her works this definitely is one to check out. For new potential fans, I'd encourage you to read the earlier installments of this series to familiarize yourself with many returning characters to be able to enjoy this one as it's meant to be enjoyed.

I loved the rest of their story!

I loved reading about the continuation of Jessica and Alexander's love story.
It was the perfect blend of romance ,drama and a whole lotta kink.
It was nice reconnecting with others in the series. I'm hoping Maks finds his HEA.

5 ***** Amazing Stars

LOVE IT!! OMG Not only is the reunion of Alexandr & Jessica amazingly beautiful, watching Alex come back to life was like a miracle. They have so much to work through, Jessica lived as a married woman & Alex lived angry, broken, & most of all a Widower. She is jealous of all the women He was with, she understands, afterall, she was dead. Right? Was He supposed to be celibate? There were many women, some who tried to become the submissive / wife for Him. He wanted only Jessica & their daughter, so they didn't last long. There was very much to work through, but because they love each other so much they are able to do the work. Of course, her Master comes out to help. :-)

i cried so much at their reconnection. They were so tortured while apart. Damn Jorg! i'd like to slice his throat! Crazy Bastard! Lesser people could not have made it. He loves them with all He is & she brings the love out of Him. Helps to balance His life.

Oh i love Tatiana. She is such a precious little schootch! my pet name for my own grandchildren when they are pushing the limits. :-) They are Master manipulators. And Alex learns how to love her & parent her. People who love each other are amazing parents. :-D

Ms. Mayburn has a way of bringing you into the back story. We learn about what the Bratva is up to, & the changes & espionage going on is exciting, intriguing & scary. Add the Kinky life that they live with their friends, & it is one sexy story also! Ooooh Baby!! As i'm coming to the end of the story i find myself needing to reread the other three books. Remember all the parts of the people & their love for each other.

The Delight

Getting to see Alexandr and Jessica back together is a dream come true, but there isn't exactly a paradise waiting for these two. Intrigue keeps the story going, but sometime there was just too much sex. Yeah, I said it. Too much sex that I was numbly scanning the scenes to move on to something more substantial.

If you haven't read at least Alexandr's Cherished Submissive from this series, then you really don't want to read my review as I have to give some spoiler from that story to introduce this one. Alexandr's Reluctant Submissive picks up right where the previous book ended.

At the end of Alexandr's Cherished Submissive, Alex and Jessica are reunited after Alex has believed she was dead for close to five years. Jessica was threatened in the last book while pregnant and forced to go into hiding by Alex's father, Jorg. Krom, one of her bodyguards was supposed to let her know when it was safe to come back, but he was shot in the head and has no memories from that night. Jorg has threatened Jessica over the years to keep quiet. Moving to Miami and changing her name, Jessica gives birth to her daughter Tatiana alone waiting for the all clear to come back to Alex. Alex who has moved on not in love, but in life as a widower with all the sexual encounters of a man using women to forget his dead wife. Man whore doesn't even begin to describe Alex's life.

So these two are reunited and it isn't all happy go lucky. Alex won't let Jessica go and sends for their daughter to join them in Moscow where there is a hit almost immediately put out on Jessica. Well, it is not unusual to have a hit out on you in Russia, but five million is a pretty big hit. Life changes overnight as Jessica must become the leader of her Bratva her husband rules along with transitioning her daughter into her new world with a father she wraps around her tiny little finger.

Immediately he sexual relationship between Alex and Jessica kicks in and they find the all the reasons why the fell in love with each other, but Jessica isn't ok with all the places Alex stuck his dick in when she was supposedly dead. People come back into Jessica's life like Catrin (Jessica's Mistress) and Rico (Catrin's husband and Master). Body guards from the past make appearances like Mak, Luka, and Krom along with some new female guards. Man of these past bodyguards have had some part in Jessica's sexual past and have to come to terms with what is now their future.

Alex turns on his darker side that he didn't have when they were together five years ago. He has some darker, sadistic urges that Jessica has never seen nor agreed too. She trusts Alex to do what is best, but at times it got darker than I wanted to see between these two. Jessica is very hedonistic, finding pleasure in almost everything Alex does to her and who he brings into help him do it. If you don't want orgies in your romance, then this might not be for you. There is a lot of F/F action and wife swapping done.

There also comes a little unbelievable part of the story with Jorg playing a big role. People die, people get hurt and things are left up in the air as to what happened and what will happen in the future. I could have done with out this whole side story that hit me upside the head.

The characters seemed very stale to me. While circumstances change in their lives, I felt like we went back to the way things were and that the characters never really grew. After five years there should have been strife and there was, but often Alex punished Jessica for her feelings and actions to those feelings. I guess I just couldn't forgive him his past indiscretions even if he did think he was a widower.

While I started this series loving Ivan, I have quickly grown not to like Dimitri or Alex after they get back to Russia. At least with Ivan he allowed his wife to find satisfaction in work outside of the home. Dimitri and Alex are Bratva leaders so the risk of their families is high meaning there is very little the women can do without having a ton of bodyguards, tanks and helicopters following them where ever they go. While it might sound nice to be a kept woman, I think I would grow bored like I did with these characters fast.

Continuing with the series? I am at a crossroads of the thought of getting more of the same or getting something where the women don't become puppets. I have always thought submissives were strong. These women are strong, but I just didn't like the way the were dedicated to a life in their husband's shadows. So I guess I will wait to see who gets the next story and see if it goes the same way of these last three books.

Love!! I have loved everything I've read from Ms. Mayburn, and I was so excited to finally get this one!

For this story to make sense, you really have to read Alexander's Cherished Submissive, because this is part 2 of the Alexander and Jessica's story. If you haven't read part one yet, then don't read part 2!!

Alex and Jessica are reunited after being separated by the harsh world of the Russian Bratvas (mafia, basically) that they live in. Even though they are ecstatic to be back together, it isn't exactly smooth sailing. Alex has thought Jessica to be dead for the last 5 or years, so he has been a sad, broken, single man. Jessica has had to raise their daughter Tatiana alone, and has not fulfilled her submissive nature, or even touched a man in the entire time they were apart.
As they learn to be a family again, Jessica has to deal with her insecurity over Alex's sexual past while he thought she was dead, and Alex has to realize that he needs to work together with Jessica in raising Tatiana rather than just spoiling her like he wants to. They have a lot to learn about each other and have to work on reconnecting- 5 years is a long time, and although the desire is there instantly, they need time to talk and get to know each other again as adults.

I loved how Jessica had matured from the naive, sweet girl from before. She has proven that she has steel in her backbone and she is worthy to be Alex's wife. And Alex has matured and realized he can't just shield his wife from everything going on around them. They have to learn to be equals, while still keeping their delicate balance of dominance and submission very much alive, in the bedroom, and the playroom, and the clubs, and wherever Alex wants...

#bookhusband: Because Alex isn't a boy, he is definitely a man, and an insanely sexy Dominant. He's so in love with Jessica and his daughter that he can hardly bear to be away from them for a full work day. That kind of devotion is mad sexy, and just so attractive in a man.

Ann has truly created a gorgeous, breathtaking story that brought her characters to life. You will finish this book satisfied, but still wanting more from Ann. And there's plenty of supporting character action, so we can rest assured we'll be getting some more.

Do heed the advice of the blurb and read the first of this two part story before you read this book - and if you read it a while ago - reread it first, because. let's face it this is convoluted stuff, and getting back into it slowly will reduce your enjoyment of the whole. Even better would be to read it from the first book in the series - but I know, who has time to do that! I can't wait to hide away in a corner and read them all through in one go.

We get thrown straight in where the last book left off and enter a roller-coaster ride of highs and lows. As things 'settle down' a little there is just about time to draw breath and enjoy their reunion, before things get tense and exciting again. There are some absolutely delightful scenes, some very, very hot ones, and some where one's mind is completely overwhelmed with trying to figure out just how that all fitted together - both jealous and extremely turned on. I care far too much for most of the cast, not just because they are all fictitious, but because lots of them are violent criminals!

Very excited to see what we are offered next ... so I do hope you are busy plotting Ms Mayburn!

If you haven't read Alexandr's Cherished Submissive, I highly recommend reading it first!!!

Once I finished the first book, I was anxiously waiting to see how things would turn out for Jessica and Alex. I was not disappointed. Ann picked up right where she left off in Part One and pulled me into their lives. One of my favorite parts was waiting and waiting for the first temper tantrum from their daughter, with Alex spoiling her so much and how Jessica and Alex handled it. There was a lot of baggage for both of them, having believed they had lost each other forever, to find out that they got this second chance. They have some issues and how Ann had them deal with them was right on. I love how the men are strong willed and used to having their way and the women are not doormats. They make things work, their way. There are a lot of sacrifices to be made and in the end, love is worth it. The end was perfect, leaving me waiting for the next book, wanting to know what is going to happen next in their world and most of all....WHOSE BOOK IS NEXT!!!!

If you haven't read this series, I HIGHLY recommend it.

OMG, I just love this whole series. This is the second part of Alex and Jessica’s story; you have to read both parts. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I love the intensity of the relationship between Alex and Jessica. All the men are so big and alpha and so loveable even though they are so rough on the outside. I can’t wait to see who is in the next book. This book had everything and if you love this series you will love this book as well. I can’t do this book justice with my review because I am not good with words but man, it was hot and was worth the wait.

After being left hanging at the end of Alexandr's Cherished Submissive, I absolutely couldn't wait to get my hands on this book.

Alex and Jessica's relationship has always been special but Jessica has done things on her own and in fear for a long time. To Alex she hasn't changed except for aging and her hair color.

Jessica has always known he was alive and her husband so she hasn't strayed from her wedding vows. On the other hand Alex thought she was dead, he was a widower, and had several affairs. None serious for him, but Jessica will have to come to terms with her jealousy over these women. She has also grown into a very strong woman, something Alex will have to deal with.

Alex is now a father to a four year old, and I truly loved the interactions between Tatiana and him. He will learn some truths about children really quick. *evil chuckle*

We meet up with all our favorites in this book, Ivan & Gia, Dimitri & Rya, Nico & Catrine, Krom, Maks and a surprise visit from Beach & Sarah!

Let me say now that this is the hottest of all the Submissive Wish books. There is a lot of kinky, smoldering hot scenes so make sure you have plenty to drink and maybe a fan and some ice to keep cool.

Lots of tears, lots of laughter, suspense and OMG scenes.

I can't wait to see what Ann has in store for us in the next book in this series. I can see some possibilities but I know she will surprise us all.

Well...First off, what a good series. It had it's ups and downs. I loved all the interaction between characters amongst the different reads. Alex and Jessica were by far the best of the storylines and this final chapter was great. Sort of. I loved following their reunion and how they were able to use their time apart to grow togther again. Tatiana cracks me up! Again, I felt that Jessica - while definitely into some wonderfully kinky stuff - became a different person when the ff stuff was happening. I just didn't completely buy it. It started to detract from her connection with Alex (again, IMO). But, as a couple, I loved watching them learn each other all over again. The emotion was amazing. Then, WTF? Silver wood? End of the world? Preppers? Things just got a little wierd for me. Again, I like the series, and hightly recommend it, but I felt like I was set up for another book (or 5) and then nothing. I also thought the whole massive FF/MFfMFfMFfMFfMFMF... thing happening at the end was so chaotic. I didn't get the purpose of it. And why end from Rya's perspective? It was just kind of confusing. I really did skim most of the last chapter or two. But hey, I got another dose os seriously hot, dirty talking Russians. What more do you need?

I loved the series as a whole while the last book dragged a bit on with no real plot and adding suspense that did not ad to the story. Sure they’re Dom’s and pure Alpha males we get it and we love it. But CB1 CB2 ?? It’s to much cramped in 1 book. It doesn’t ad but rather spoils which is a shame because up until then, the books are amazing and their lovestory is dreamy to die for.

I really would LOVE LOVE LOVE for Maks to have hos own book. And would like to see Luka fall to his knees as well. Haha. That flirt wont know what hit him when he falls in love.

A fun dirty book to read.

I am a bit uncomfortable about the "me men, you woman, me strong, you submissive" thing. Also to be honest, I found the idea of the Master punishing their submissive physically due to some overture or error in judgment is abhorring, rather than sexually stimulating.

I have had finished 4 books by this author in the past month, I am giving myself a break from all the growling, grunting, spanking, orgies, three-way and screaming orgasms.

This wasn't as fun as the first novel. I found that Alex did not gravel enough and for a person that discovered her strength while she was away, Jessica was a pushover when it mattered. Though, I loved Alex's relationship with his daughter. Also, why is the entire entourage a massive orgy? I can not imagine sleeping with all my friends, their friends and everyone in my circle.

Really enjoyed this book and Alex and Jessica's entire story. I loved that all the main characters in this series were a part of the book. I'm thinking Krom and Gwen are next. I really want Maks to find his love too. He makes me sad. Looking forward to whatever comes next.

Liberal junk!

Sad, boo boo, you had me but you lost me. I read to escape TV because it is all liberal lies. I read this series and it all fell apart in the last book when she jumped on the liberal train. Won't be reading her stuff anymore. Really a disappointment.

I started this series with Ivan's Captive Submissive and I have been in love ever since. This book as well as every other book in this series is extremely sexy and worth every penny you spend on it!

This book is part two of Alexandr's story and you get to see what happens when two people that were sooo in love finally get back together after years of lies, deception and heartbreak.

Overall this book was GREAT! It is currently selling for 3.99 on Kindle Amazon but I definitely think that she could charge more for this book. Great job Ann Mayburn!

ALEXANDR'S RELUCTANT SUBMISSIVE is the "conclusion" of Jessica and Alexandr's story and it brought back all the kink and sex that I loved in the first book while extending the mystery that is the world of the Russian Mafia that Ann Mayburn has created.

Let me say right now that if you haven't read part one of this story, ALEXANDR'S CHERISHED SUBMISSIVE, then you should stop reading this review right now. It's imperative that you read that book first before even attempt this one.

Now, when we left Jessica and Alex in the first book, Alex just found out after five terrible years that his wife and submissive, Jessica, and their daughter, Tatiana were not really dead. ALEXANDR'S RELUCTANT SUBMISSIVE takes place right after their reunion. Jessica is worried that her plans to keep her husband and her daughter safe have been derailed since she's been reunited with Alex. And as much as she wants to be with them, she's scared that they are all in danger now. Alex has to convince her that it's safe that they are together and that he can protect her now.

Alex quickly brings his family home to Russia where he is part of a Russian Mafia family. And while they are trying to learn how to be a family again, there are dangers lurking everywhere. Alex's deranged father still has plans for them that they are not aware of, so just when Alex thinks everything is one the right track, he may be facing the loss of his family once again.

After the shocking ending of book one, I knew I was going to have to read the follow up story to Alex and Jessica's story. There were so many questions left unanswered. This story picked up right where the first left off and immediately went into the juicy stuff. We had danger, intrigue and lots of sex...LOTS.

I liked that Jessica really stood her ground with Alex. She was not going to let him walk all over her. She had been on her own for many years and was a single mom and she had gained a new confidence that she wasn't going to let Alex snuff out. She demanded that Alex treat her as a partner and I think he respected her more for that.

The story of the Russian Mafia and their different factions/families was hard to keep up with sometimes but I liked the way that things turned out at the end. It should be interesting going forward.

There was a lot of BDSM in here and a lot of sex. I think that in this book, there were a few scenes that just seemed to be gratuitous, especially the epilogue. I don't know, maybe it was supposed to be important and it was just me. But, there were times I felt like it wasn't necessary to the story.

Overall though, I really felt immersed in the world that ALEXANDR'S RELUCTANT SUBMISSIVE was set in. I think the author did a wonderful job with creating it. I look forward to see how the series progresses because there were a lot of unanswered questions in this one too. There is something big coming and I'd like to know what it is.

I will also take the opportunity to go back and read the first two books in the Submissive Wishes series as ALEXANDR'S RELUCTANT SUBMISSIVE was book #4. I personally felt like books #3 and #4 could be read separately but the author and publisher don't advise that. I'll let you know if I change my mind after I read the first two.

Following where cherished submissive left off, Ann Mayburn reunites two lovers readers had mourned their separation and ups the ante - Alex's uncle Petrov must choose a new heir, Jessica finds herself with a bounty on her head for her capture and the Novikov family reunion is starting on shaky grounds as father and daughter slowly get to know each other. Emotionally charging, breathtaking, suspenseful and let's not forget incredibly sexually stimulating, more often than not I found myself having to look around me simply to make sure i made no sound from Alex and Jessica's erotic sessions; getting angry at all the obstacles the couple had to go through simply to be happy; and yet those happy moments would made all that frustration worth it. Part of the Submissive Wish Series, Part four, it is at least recommended to read Alexandr's Cherished Submissive to get a better understanding of Alex and Jessica's history together, while the entire series is an absolute thrill to read as a whole..

Ann Mayburn is one of those writers that makes you question, is she merely an author of great works or more of a mad scientist in disguise set out to torture her readers? I think all authors have a bit of that mad scientist streak in them, however Ann really hits that creative genius with Alexandr's Reluctant Submissive. And she really drives that home with this novel and tugs at readers heart strings left and right.

Alexadr's Relcutant Submissive was the conclusion to the epic story Alexandr's Cherished Submissive which left us with one hell of a bang at the end of that story. We were left with questions and trying to figure out where on earth she could possibly take it from there? Well Mrs. Mayburn did not let us readers down one single bit she not only took us to new heights, she soared above them. We learn so much about Jessica and Alexandr in this novel, and honestly the way the novel ends its really set up to where we can come back and see even more of Dimitri and Alexandr. I really do hope that she brings us back to that storyline because it was an interesting twist she tossed in. I'm not going to divulge it, you really have to read it for yourself! This book was so incredibly suspenseful that it had me on the edge of my seat so much I almost fell off and landed on my face a few times! It was action packed yet at the same time full of incredibly tender moments where Alexander was still cherishing Jessica and taking care of her needs the love shared between the two was absolutely incredible.

It was great to see the entire Bratva again I love all of my Russian men Krom, Ivan, Maks, even the ones I haven't named. The connection that was built between not just Jessica and Alex but between all of the characters was so deep and moving that it truly grabs a reader and takes them along for the journey. From the moment you pick up this amazing work of art you truly do not want to put it down. I love how they all build a connection to Tatiana even though this is the first time they are meeting her.

Honestly this is one of the best books I have ever read. And I do not say that lightly I read a lot of books and I give a lot of reviews. Ann Mayburn has earned every single star and if I could give more I would. Hands down this book was sinfully delicious and utterly fantastic! I can't wait to see what the delectable Mrs. Mayburn has up her sleeve for us readers next. Whatever it is she is bound to take us on one hell of a ride.

5 scorching, hot stars!!! Wow, just when I thought the first three books were hot, here comes book four and it’s even hotter than the others!!! I loved it!!!

Note: This is part TWO of Alex and Jessica's story. Part ONE, Alexandr's Cherished Submissive, should be read first for the most enjoyment.

Especially since Jorg isn’t done meddling with their lives��and his latest actions will have deadly consequences for generations to come.

I can’t even stress how much I loved this series and this book overall!!! The characters are so intiguing and fun to read!! The storyline is beyond hot and interesting. I won’t give too much away with the review, but just know this book and series is worth the read!!! Ann Mayburn is such a fantastic author, you really feel like you are there in the book with the characters!!! Great job!!!
