Ben wants a baby, and for five hundred years, he’s been searching for the one man who can give him that: his fated mate.

Dragon shifters have split souls, and when they find their other half, they bond for life. They also have the ability to impregnate the human men they mate with, and even though Ben knows that fate can’t be rushed, watching his two best friends, Maks and Dane, settle down with their own mates has him feeling restless… and impatient to finally find the man he’s waited a lifetime for.

When dragon shifters from Europe attack his friends, Ben jumps at the opportunity to move overseas to help contain the threat. And he can’t help wondering if he’ll finally find what he’s been looking for while he’s there. He does… but it turns out that his mate isn't at all what he expected.

Zander is a loong, a wingless Chinese dragon and the child of fated mates himself. He’s young for a dragon, and idealistically determined to change the legacy of dragonkind. He’s convinced that it’s his duty to use his dragon's power to right the wrongs against humanity that his kind have been responsible for.

Zander is passionate about bringing social change to the people he calls his own, and regardless of fate’s intentions, he’s not at all sure he’s ready to be tied down to a mate and child. When his territory and everything he’s worked for is threatened, Zander will be faced with losing everything… and finally deciding what matters most.

Ignite is the the third book in the Dragon’s Destiny: Fated Mates series. It is a standalone novel with a HEA ending, a satisfying epilogue, and NO CLIFFHANGERS!

Series Spoilers: Although it’s not necessary to read this series in order, Ignite contains “spoilers” for the first two books in the series.

Content Alert: This book is a steamy gay romance of approximately 60,000 words that contains male pregnancy, or Mpreg.

OMG this one gutted me! There should definitely be a trigger warning of Do Not Read In Public because at one point I was sobbing.

I was really looking forward to Ben's book. He has been watching his friends with their mates and babies and he wants a family of his own. Imagine his surprise when he goes overseas to help Maks by keeping an eye on his brother and wakes up to delicious sex with his mate! But said mate has things to do and accomplish and he's not ready to be tied down to someone who will become the center of his world.

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a certain standard for true mate stories. I absolutely HATE when they deny each other or push away. Well, color me surprised when this one actually worked for me. Who would have thunk. Now, I'm not saying I didn't want to bitch slap Zander because I most certainly did. He hurt my sweet Ben on a couple of different occasions by running way. But I kept reminding myself he was young by dragon standards, and he certainly makes up for it. He becomes the possessive and protective mate that Ben deserves.
My Ben was the destiny I hadn’t been ready for, hadn’t been worthy of, but by some miracle had been blessed with anyway.

Now about the gut-wrenching part. I think this deserves a TRIGGER WARNING because this will be a hard thing to read for some. I know it was for me, having experienced it. But, and it hurts. It was hard to read. But this one was so much better than the last. There's angst and conflict but there's also those swoon-worthy moments that make you sigh. Now, on to the next one because IVAN...who doesn't love a good anti-hero who redeems himself?

The thing about this series is a HEA is guaranteed, and not just any HEA but a blinding, forever, dragon kind of HEA.

Unlike the first two books in the series, which couple a dragon with a human, this one features two dragons: sweet Ben, son of two fated mates, and Zander, a loong (wingless) dragon.

Ben had waited for his mate for five centuries, but Zander is only 73 (a baby in dragon years) and not ready to settle down.

The evil-but-not-really Russian dragon from book 2 is back and sniffing around an American military base in Germany, Zander's territory. Ben volunteers to stay in Europe to keep an eye on Ivan, said Russian dragon and Maksim's brother.

I don't think this book would work well if you haven't read book 2. There's a bit more angst in this one but still plenty of steam and MINE MINE MINE.

The reason I keep giving these books 3 stars is because they happen in a vacuum. Some of the relationship stuff starts to feel recycled; there's no sense of place, and the secondary characters fade into the background.

Forget history or society at large. These are DRAGONS. They have stories to tell, but they may as well have been born yesterday.

4 stars for the sweetness & steam; 2 stars for world building & character development.

This book has a better storyline than the first two books and also compared to the last one. The only thing that I unlike with this one is the fight scene with Nicolai - too little action. (Or maybe I'm just expecting too much bursting of fire with that fight, sadly there's only quite.)

Still, its a nice read. 4stars for sometimes stories are not perfect but love will always find a way.

Have a nice flight 😊

To help with the review:

Zander's 73, Bendt's 500. Quite the gap here!

Omg, this book was so unexpectedly emotional 😭. Damn, sometime I wanted to slap Z, but gosh he become what our dear Ben deserves, so I'm happy. Also the was disheartening. But it lead to great character development.

My Ben was the destiny I hadn’t been ready for, hadn’t been worthy of, but by some miracle had been blessed with anyway.

And in Ben's words, Ivan is an asshole but a redeemable one. I was happy with his scenes here. I'm sure looking forward to him meeting Ty 👀. Uncle Ty is awesome!

Book 3 in the Fated Mates series. Although it’s not necessary to read this series in order, Ignite contains “spoilers” for the first two books in the series and I would highly recommend reading Heat and Scorch first.

Ben has been hoping to find his fated mate for over five hundred years.

Due directly to events that happened in Scorch Ben decides to go to Europe to keep a closer eye on his friend Maksim's brother and sire because of their attempts to take Maks and Devin's offspring. He's offered a place to stay with an old friend of his father's, Marquis, a fire dragon and his fated mate, Lin, a wingless Chinese loong dragon.

My Danish father had been visiting Marquis’s territory when Anik, my ata, had gone there five hundred years ago, and even though there was no reason to think that history would repeat itself, I couldn’t fully silence the hopeful voice inside me that wondered if following in his footsteps would hurry fate along for me, too. I knew that it was so unlikely as to be laughable, and holding onto that hope ran the risk of turning me bitter.
My otherself didn’t share my reservations, though.

Shortly after he arrives he finds his fated mate, Zander, the son of Marquis and Lin, and a dragon himself. Zander is over half a century old, but that's quite young by dragon standards, and though he wants a fated mate, he doesn't really want one right now. He's only had his territory in Germany for about thirty years and he's still trying to right the wrongs the dragon who held the territory before him made. He doesn't feel like he's ready for a mate, but his dragon gives him no choice but to claim Ben.

I thought Ignite was far more angsty than either Heat or Scorch. It also has a lot more loss and pain involved in it. I'll admit I got a little teary-eyed at one point. Look no further if what you want is a shifter story that packs a punch to the gut with some nice sexy times and some sweet emotions to make it all good.

I liked this one more than the first and second books. This one was two DRAGONS, not a dragon with a human. I liked the fact that the larger, more powerful dragon was the one to get pregnant.

Recommended if you like the dragons and mpreg thing.

This is the third book in the Fated Mates series and I really think it should be read in order to fully appreciate it.
We met Ben earlier, his two fathers helped our previous MCs through their pregnancies and matings and Ben is their only child. Ben is a super sweet dragon, with no territorial aspirations of his own, only a fierce desire to find his mate.
While waiting for his mate, he helps his friends by “spying” on the evil Nikolai in Europe. There – low and behold! – he finds his mate, Zander!
Zander is the son of two dragons hosting Ben while he monitors Nikolai and he’s very young in dragon terms. He’s got a lot of political and territorial aspirations and has no desire to find his mate and settle down…. Yet.
**
Zander is kind of a jerk for the first half of the book. He mates Ben then LEAVES – Ugh! Poor Ben is devastated. But the two eventually get back together in the interest of fighting Nikolai and are forced to work on their mating.
I won’t lie – there is some serious sadness in this book and it can be hard to read… BUT in the end there is SO much happiness and joy that it’s worth it.
I just know that Ty and Ivan’s story has to be coming soon – next?!- because the set up here is plain as day.
If you’re a fan of MPREG and Dragon shifters you MUST read this series. It’s so well written and most of the time it’s FREE on Kindle Unlimited! This writing pair is PHENOMENAL and I hope they write many, many books together!
Highly Recommended 5 of 5 stars

Best one yet in this Dragon shifter series

The world building has settled by the time of this third book that the authors have been able to expand on the plot and narrative for Ben and Zander's storyline.

Here there is all the usual insta love attraction of the fated mates but unlike the other pairs, it takes a bit longer for Zander to accept that his met his other soul.

This is because, unlike Wes or Davin, Zander is also a dragon, this time a serpentine loong, sinuous and wingless. He's also younger and smaller than Ben but I loved how he was the dominant one and how he expressed his desire sexually and physically.

There's also more Dragon business in this one, with Maxim and Ivan's father Nicolai trying to take Zander's territory through tricks and threats.

This one was different from the first two in that this was two dragons together instead of a dragon and a human. But the premise was still the same. There was a little different drama from the first two which was nice.

I really like Ben. There was some baby drama that was sad. It's part of why I love Ben. I had to warm up to Zander. But I'm guessing maybe this is normal since it was the same in the prior two books.

Ignite was just okay for me. I thought the series started out pretty strongly, but somewhere along the way for me it has sizzled out a bit. (Dragon pun intended). I reallllly wanted to like Ignite - but honestly Zander turned me off a bit.

So this is book three and by now we know the drill for the dragons:

1. Meet fated mate

2. Go into Heat and fuck like crazy

3. M-Preg

4. One of the fated mates leaves the other for some selfish/contrived reason

5. Said mate comes back

6. Mild drama ensues

7. Baby is born and all is right in the world

Other than that not much of anything really happens. I find myself skimming through the drama scenes and then at the end of the book I end up with more questions than not.

The world building could use some work because apparently the dragons can have control of some elements? There are Loong dragons too and we have no clue as the reader if there are other types of dragons! Also - there are female fated mates? How have we not heard about this until book 3?

I have questions. Lots of them and they are never really addressed. Other than the endless questions and the same overarching plot lines I actually enjoy these books. The sex is hot and plentiful and I like reading about dragons. Also - Ivan and Ty would be the perfect couple! Hoping they get their HEA - which lets be honest...this is Wolf Specter - of course they will! :)

On to the next!

Overall book rating: 4 stars
Audio book: n/a
Book Cover 4 stars
MC1: Ben
MC2: Zander

Ben being born form a fated mate with a Dragon father and a human dad he wanted to find his fated date all his life. He's tired of waiting and just want to find that one person and be happy.

Zander is way to young to settle down so when he discover Ben is his true mate things get interesting.

Wow! 4.5 stars but rounded up because this was SUCH a great read - best in the series so far, for sure!

I just loved Ben and Zander, and I loved the emotion and their connection. I love that this book got pretty serious, especially what happens in the middle (no spoilers here, but yeah it's sad) and how they coped and lived past that. I also loved Zander's bickering with Ty! Great story, great romance, I totally recommend this if you like dragon mpreg paranormal stories, but I also suggest you start with book 1...each book has been better than the last, so I look forward to more.

I also enjoyed getting to see previous characters, and I hope Ty's story is next - his mate has to be Ivan, right?! Why else would he be hanging around the military base?

International Dragon Issues

Initially I did not really care for this book. I was glad Ben had gotten his own story, but I wasn't interested in all the political influence that his mate Zander had been engaged in for years. Though when you get past what I felt was the slow startup, the book's pace really begins to pick up. And it turns out that the political machinations had a very important impact on the lives of Ben, his mate, and his in laws.

Since I was more concerned about the social aspects of the Dragons lives this is when the story began to really grab my attention. It was interesting learning about some of the different types of Dragons such as the Loong more serpentine Chinese Dragons. Needless to say Zander did not appreciate Ty's humor about his heritage though it surprised him that Ty seemed to know so much about Dragons.

But what upset him was how "familiar" Ty was acting with Zander's mate, Ben. This was a really amusing part of the book with Ty relentlessly teasing Zander. And it set the stage for other funny encounters between the two of them. Zander insisted he wasn't jealous - but his face practically turned red when Ty started to berate Zander for not being a good Fated mate.

This story had several poignant moments. The vicious territory grabbing Russian Dragon Nikoli, Mak's and Ivan's father once again displayed how terrible a Beast he was toward Humans & other Dragons (which did not exclude his sons). The reason Ivan turned out the way he did was made apparent by Nikoli really showing who he was and just how far he was willing to go to get what he felt was his.

It was nice when Ben communicated with the North American Dragons and the reader gets updates of what's been happening to Ben's ever expanding circle of family & friends. Personally my favorite moments were those involving Ty. He was stationed in Germany at the army base, awaiting deployment to the Middle East. He always seems so funny & upbeat, but underneath Ty is saddened as the Dragons he has come to know all find passionately loving, hopelessly devoted, fiercely loyal, and proud papas. His brother is the mate to one of these Dragons. Since seeing these types of relationships, others pale in comparison. He is convinced he won't find what the Fated Mated have together.

This ended up being as enjoyable a book as the other two in the series. Sent to Europe to keep an eye on Mak's violent brother and danger to his "nephews" (Ivan) Ben does get a chance to observe & repeat info to Maks, ended up meeting his Fated mate Zander, and to actually meet the condescending Dragon up close & personal on more than one occasion. These episodes bump up the entertainment value of this book. Next is the final book of the series BLAZE.

Ok, your fated mate is another dragon. A very young , forceful, scared dragon. What do you do?

Welcome back to the world of dragons and fated mates. My old friends were there with open arms. I went willingly into them. The story continues, completing one arc, but setting up another. You are gonna love this book.
Ben longs for a family of his own. When he goes to Europe to keep an eye on Maks's brother Ivan, he never expects to find his fated mate his first night there. He especially doesn't expect to end up pregnant! Zander can't believe his fated mate is in his bed. But the young dragon isn't ready for all that comes with a mate. So he flees.
Join Ben and Zander on their journey. There is a kidnapping, redemption, loyal friends, protective family, and babies. What's not to love!
Though this can be read alone, I recommend reading the first two books in this series in order. You will be glad you did. I cannot wait to read the next book.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

To be honest, Zander's bratty behavior almost made me dnf this books many times but I made myself skim it instead. I lost all interest in the relationship between the MCs around the 30% mark and looked for scenes with support characters instead. I actually liked Ty and even Ivan more, especially what he did during the climax (which was kinda anticlimactic). These two were enough to save the book for me.

Also I don't understand why there isn't a warning tag for *pregnancy loss*?!?! I wouldn't mind it that much if I had advance notice before I started reading. I was expecting to read a fluffy story and I totally got blindsided when it took a nosedive.

Fate does not ask what we want but gives us what we need.
None of them expected a meeting between them.
Their encounter is surprising and special but despite this Zander leaves.
They face problems and difficulties.
And in front of a stronger and more dangerous Job who is willing to do anything to destroy their house.
And Zander has to decide what's important to him

This story is the most complex and intriguing.
Because of their uncomplicated relationship.
Fun to read this book.
It is surprising, frightening, intriguing and hopeful.

Ben finally finds is fated mate! Buts it's an immature little twink and I feel like Ben deserves better. Especially after he had to watch all his other dragon friends find their mates first. The story was compelling, the smut we all love so much was there, and we even got some darker tones with the concept of loss and mourning. However I was not impressed with Zander at all. My least favorite pair so far.

Mak's Brother!

This story after reading the first two is just so beautiful. Ben, a Dragon with two Dragon Fathers, is friends with several other Dragons who have Human partners. Finding his own Fated Mate was going to be difficult as there were not that many Dragons on the Planet. Flying to the Netherlands where he has permission to go, is one step closer to finding answers. Can't wait to read book 4.

Sweet story, but might bring bad memories for some.

This is the next installment in the Dragon's Destiny series, and I did enjoy it. However, I was not expecting the heartbreaking storyline that happens halfway through the book. If I missed it, I'm sorry, but I think this story needs a trigger warning.
The author did end with a HEA, but the storyline will hit way too close to home for some.

The best one yet

I've been bing reading this series and while the previous two were quite good, this book was exceptional. The depth that it brought was outstanding, while still being wonderfully steamy and heartwarming. An excellent read. I will be sad to conclude this excellent series, but i am very much looking forward to how it finishes.

Nice

I seriously liked the story. But, I dislike how rigid the characters sex positions are. It is always 100% top, 100% bottom. Really? Bring in some versatility. Life and sex are never that rigid. I know a big bad dragon could be topped by his lover.

Great book

This book was a good addition to the story. Ben has the patience and love of a saint, and Sander was young and immature; and it definitely showed. But he grew and it showed mentally and emotionally. Definitely a good read.
