Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.

All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.

And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.

The last issue by Cullen Bunn. His run was short, and it had ups and downs. The next writer had a shorter run, but hopefully it’s a strong finish for this series.

Not my fav version of Arthur Curry in terms of Aquaman runs but it's a decent story.

The final battle for the existence of Atlantis! Arthur must free Mera and take Poseidon's blessings to Thule to end the invasion. But what sacrifice must be made to stop it?

It all seems to end rather abruptly and without a lot of struggle and really didn't live up to the hype. I'm going to assume there's a lot of fighting with the Justice League and the Drift off-panel, but Arthur and Mera don't have to go through a lot of fuss to get to the Wellspring to end it all. In the same vein, I'll also assume that Mera had to do some fighting to escape Siren as well. But it all just wraps up so quickly that the long, drawn-out lead up hardly seemed worth it. I'm glad to see there were consequences to everything and that not everyone could be saved. That would have made it simply TOO convenient.

On the upside, I really enjoyed Vicente Cifuente's artwork! Really great renderings of the characters and the worlds. His mashups of the worlds were really fun to look at and pick out the odd pieces in. Very nice.

Happy that this storyline is over and looking forward to something better in the future.

Aquaman's monthly title continues to excel in storytelling and depth: providing us readers with more background to Arthur's past, along with the mythology behind the undersea realms.
He has been a strong character, and the chemistry between Mera and Arthur is more powerful than that of Clark and Diana..in such a way, that their relationship and love makes far more sense then Superman and Wonder Woman's.
I'll be sad to see Cullen Bunn leave this book, and I hope the new writer provides as much love for Aquaman as we readers continue to show to his character.

Top notch book.
