This book contains examples of different types of hypothesis testing that can be used to show statistical significance. It is intended to be direct, and to give easy to follow example problems that you can easily duplicate. This book contains a worked example for these problems Z Test 1 Sample T Test Paired T Test ( 2 examples ) 2 Sample T Test with Equal Variance 2 Sample T Test with Unequal Variance Every example has been worked by hand showing the appropriate equations, and also done in Excel using the excel functions and the Excel interactive GUI where possible. So every example has 2 or 3 different ways to solve the problem. Additionally this book includes a Z-Table and T-Table, along with the functions that you can use to create your own Z-Table or T-Table in Excel.
This author has great talent to explain mathematical/statistical issues in a very understandable and comprehensible way. He explains every necessary step and uses easily replicable examples. Many graphics illustrate and clarify the main concepts. The small books also provide links to a cheat sheet and an Excel file with all the calculations. (It also includes a Z and T table, but these are buried in the book text. I think there are more effective ones found as PDFs on the internet.)
I have read already several statistical books, but I found this one in explaining when and how to use the different statistical tests the best one. Maybe the reason is that it focuses especially on this one problem and do not disclose it en passant as many other relevant books do.
