This is an affordable paperback and a great herbal remedies resource for families. It starts with how to get healthy prior to conception (both parents) and then goes through pregnancy and nursing. It covers most any illness a typical family might be confronted with over the course of raising children. It briefly teaches you how to make decoctions, extracts/tinctures, fomentations, herbal infusions, poultices, herbal oils and ointments in a non-overwhelming way. This book takes a holistic approach to healing and assumes that most health problems originate because of chronic constipation. It provides a mucusless diet with herbal support to correct that. Excellent book.

This is an amazing book to teach about how to use herbs and nutrition to help us live healthy lives and to heal many different kinds of ailments. I loved the section about digestion. It opened my eyes about the importance of having a clean colon. I noticed many of the formulas used Cayenne and I am amazed at how beneficial it is. One day I woke up with an awful sinus headache behind my eye. I popped a Cayenne pill and within minutes my sinuses were clear. Although it caused a stomach ache. But ginger took that away and I was good to go! I'm looking forward to implementing many of the herbal uses mentioned in the book and I hope it will help me live a healthier life. I've also implemented the 6 days on 1 day off with my vitamins (the book only mentions to do that with herbs) and it feels great to give my body a day of rest every week.

All I can say is great information, but poorly written. 5 stars on info 3 stars on how it is presented in the book. Sometimes it just says to administer an herb to a patient but doesn’t tell you if it was a tincture, root, capsule, tea etc. some of the measurements are not precise and he could have written recipes in bulleted fashion. However, his insight, reasoning, and stories are top quality and I’m so glad I’ve read this book.

Very good herbal information, and I'm definitely going to use this as a reference. Not so much on the nutritional theory. For example, it says that humans are basically built like gorillas, and therefore we should eat like them. Gorillas are able to digest all that raw vegetation because their gut is way way longer than ours. They are not the same inside, and we shouldn't base our diets off of them.

This is my go-to when we are having any sort of health issue. It is helping me heal from something right now so I am constantly referring back to it. I took the course from the School of Natural Healing and was introduced to the mucusless diet about 11 years ago. I've read many a nutrition book and health philosophy. I always come back to this as truth. It is awesome.

This is an awesome book on Herbal Health Care. It's mainly written for childhood diseases, however you don't have to be a child to benefit from any of the Formulas. Every household should have a copy.

Chapter 1 is for the health of prospective parents. It goes into detail of what you should do (both mother and father) before, during and after pregnancy to ensure good health of yourselves and the baby. It contains several different formulas including one to rebuild the reproductive organs for those that have not been able to have a child.

Chapter 2 is a very short chapter on treating childhood illnesses and how to use the book.

Chapter 3 is an alphabetical list of all the childhood diseases (many of which are also applicable to adults), causes, symptoms and treatments.

The appendix's in the book go through his programs for cleansing and healing the body. They include his incurables program. They list the foods that should and should not be eaten and the reasons why. They also list his herbal formulas and how to make herbal preparations.

Dr. Christopher always said "There are no incurable diseases, but at times there are incurable patients"

great book for all to read! Definitely sets up a great perspective through which to understand nutrition is the key to a healthy lifestyle. Our body needs vitamins and minerals in their natural form to keep our body doing what it is meant to do. Takes a vitalist /holistic approach of Hippocrates that food should be our medicine and that our body will take care of itself if we take care of our body. Don't put foreign things in it or on it and mess up the body's natural rhythm of things. This perspective is empowering and easy to retain.

You can look up all sorts of ailment and it goes in depth about what that ailment is, it's causes and symptoms and what herbs can do for it. I'm learning a ton, though this section won't be easy to retain because there is so much.
