Nix recently transferred to Chattanooga from the Asheville RTMC chapter. The MC's new gun store needs someone to teach rifle classes, and Nix was a Special Forces sniper in the military.
Tippy came to Chattanooga to start her life anew. She's a shooter as well, and she won a silver medal at the Olympics, but she uses a different name now and tries to stay out of the limelight. Most deer can't function in human society, but she's found ways to navigate modern life without her deer freezing or running every time something startles her.
Wolves are fiercely monogamous when they fall in love, while deer have trouble understanding the concept of exclusivity. Then there’s the fact wolves eat deer in the wild.
A wolf and a deer madly in love and living happily ever after has to be impossible. Right?
Nix was previously in the Ridin' Dirty OAMC anthology.
Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.
Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.
Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.
Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.
Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

I absolutely hated this. I’d really prefer my H/h to be monogamous and unfortunately, the heroine here is promiscuous and definitely non-monogamous even if she promised to just cheat with other women only. The Hero was great and he definitely deserved more.
I am thoroughly enjoying the many Supernatural books that Candace Blevins is publishing. They are all interesting and fun, enjoyable on a level that I am always looking forward to her next release.
Nix and Tippy (aka Tiffany) was no exception.
Nix is hot and sexy. He wasn’t looking for a mate but, seeing the woman of his dreams in person, sends him into a tail spin and he knows that he will do whatever it takes to keep and protect her.
Tippy is frightened and untrusting. Rebuilding her life is her main priority. Not finding a mate. Especially not with a wolf. She doesn’t think she could ever find someone to satisfy her the way her ex-husband did but she knows that time has come for her to try. Will Nix be able to give her what she craves or will he turn on her and become the predator he was born to be?
Together, they have to find the middle ground for predator and prey, learn to love openly and completely and trust that the honesty between them will be enough to keep both of their fears at bay. Enter Pixie and an agreement that keeps them both happy.
Nix was a quick and enchanting read. Yes, it’s a novella so I knew that it wouldn’t be a full novel but, I was astonished with how much Candace was able to fit into the story. It was fun, refreshing and sexy. It got right to the point and didn’t leave you wanting for anything. She ran the gamut from fear to trust, and sex to love without missing a beat. She made sure we knew what each of them were going through in what little time she had.
When I read a novella, I can only hope that the author gets her point across without losing any of the storyline. That she can get us to know the characters and make us understand their feelings. Well, Candace Blevins did that in Nix. I knew both Nix and Tippy, I understood their emotions and was totally thrilled with the way she brought the story to a close. It was a fun and flirty ending and totally fitting for Nix and Tippy.
A doe and wolf cross paths in the woods... does the doe run for her life or does she eagerly spread her legs to be eaten by the big, bad wolf? Ms. Blevins is my drug dealer of choice. I go to her for hits of erotic rough sex perpetrated by sexy alpha males. Nix is no exception.
Nix is a wolf who is new to the Chattanooga RTMC chapter. He is former military with no criminal record. He is ideal for running the RTMC's gun shop. When an Olympic athlete he's been a fan of dashes into the store, he's mesmerized. Tippy is trying to start a new chapter in her life. Instead of shooting guns, she's customizing them. Who knew there was such a demand for after market changes?
What I liked most about this story is how Ms. Blevins takes part of the deer traits and merges them into the human-side of Tippy. I love how Tippy can freeze just like deer freeze. And it is interesting to see just how much a shifter retains of their animal self in human form. Nix is the typical wolf-shifter who is both predator and protector. Their interaction is amusing and sexy hot. Their chemistry is spot on and the way their relationship develops is fabulous. The character development is what pulls me into this story.
From an erotic perspective, it is Ms. Blevin's attempt again at going vanilla. I am filled with mirth at her constant attempt to vanilla-ize her books for mainstream erotic readers. This book isn't that kinky but it isn't exactly vanilla either. What it is, is hot primal sex with a dash of sweetness. I like it! For those who want a good erotic read, Ms. Blevin's paranormal series is a winner. For those who are used to Ms. Blevin's hardcore BDSM books, this may be a little too fluffy for you.
This tale of predator and prey carries a delicious hunt and chase undercurrent. The story, sex and characters make this a page turner. Recommended for paranormal romance readers who enjoy bad boy motorcycle guys who have hearts of gold.

You just can't get a bad book from Candace Blevins. Even a short story designed to give feel-good background into a (formerly) secondary character, has all the heft of a good novel. It also has the support of a great series behind it (RTMC), and further underpinning from its absolutely stellar sister UF/paranormal series (Only Human and Chattanooga Supernaturals), from which a reader can derive all manner of imaginative and escapist fodder.
The blurb for this seriously packed, character-driven short, gives all the relevant detail and there isn't much I can add without a hand-out. I don't do spoilers, but I can say that while this novella was written as part of an anthology, it is an entirely perfect stand-alone for the RTMC series, and as I have alluded to above, the potential tie-ins to the greater goings-on within the three combined series...well, lets just say Nix's name pretty much describes his forte.
And Tippy, despite being deer, is no-one's prey. I might not have engaged with her character as much as most other female MC's in the series, but in true, strong form, she is worthy of Nix's slow and calculated plan to win her heart and mind.
As intended, this little powerhouse hits all the right feel-good buttons with the right feel-good characters, and does it all without rocking the RTMC boat. Or bike, as the case may be...
First I have to say, Candace tosses odd shifters together that has me scratching me head in wonder. She still writes and delivers a short story that totally fits the RTMC series.
Everyone always has something in their past, some deals with it head on while others make a change. We all forget that sometimes we just have to stop running. An olympic medalist shooter and a ex sniper, what could go wrong? You’ll have to read to find out. What happens when you one breed that is all about being exclusive, while the other not so much. Read and find out.
Its just individual enough to be read as a stand alone, but make sure to go back and read the series. Nix and the rest of the RTMC series is well worth the read!
I love a heroine that is very very good at something and a hero who crushes on her for her talent as it embodies who she is.
Our heroine is an Olympic level shooter and gun smith. Our hero is a world class sniper with a big ole crush on her.
Oh, he is a biker wolf shifter and she is a deer shifter. So, yeah.
The romance is hot and touching as predator and prey work out how to be together with cultural differences around sex within the background of a motorcycle club.
I am not thrilled with some elements of how the wolf dealt with the poly piece in terms of what is being said about who and what counts as sex but within the context of this couple and this world it makes sense.
This is a really enjoyable erotic action packed paranormal romance.
Hot Quick read! The only thing I didn't like about this story was that it was to short. I loved getting to know Nix the new member of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club and the new instructor at the club owned gun shop, Nix is a werewolf like most of the RTMC but what I didn't expect was for Tippy to be a Doe...Yes a DEER and a WOLF together?!? How can this be? Well I'll tell you that Candace Blevins has a knack for making this inter-species couples work, and boy do Nix and Tippy work well!
I really hope to see more of Nix and Tippy in the upcoming Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club books, Ghost is up next, I really hope that Dawg gets his HEA soon!

“Nix” is the story of Tippy and Nix in the RTMC family of stories and it does not disappoint. I loved both the overt and covert nuances to the two characters ranging from their choice of weapons to homes to general lifestyles (homes, vehicles, jobs). Candace Blevins did a fantastic job of showing us the characteristics of their respective animals within the confines of their human bodies. And of course, their interactions with each other were worth a second read.
If you are familiar with Blevins stories in this series, she gives us another “fly on the wall” view of these Chattanooga characters and the different roles they play in their world. While this is of novella length, it doesn’t skimp on details and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. And well, who wouldn’t mind having a bit of pixie dust in the bedroom?
The story of a wolf shifter who falls for a deer shifter. Neither was looking for a relationship, but they got one anyway. Nix was an alpha just like I like them, but willing to compromise and do what’s best for his woman. Tiff was strong and brave despite being a deer and willing to do whatever it took to live life on her terms and not be ruled by her animal’s instincts. My only complaint was that I wanted it to be longer. 4.5 Stars
Received an ARC for an honest review. Nix, the ex military sniper, and Tippy an Olympic medalist shooter. A wolf and a deer shifter. Nix finds Tiff in the MC's gunshop. He had followed her Olympic aspirations and capitalizes on their kinship in guns to win her. Good story, sex, very likable couple. Quick read. Can be a standalone, but read from the start of the series.
Not at all sure why I love this author and this series so much but I every time I think I can walk away from not buying the next book....I race off to buy the next book in the series.
So... turns out I'm not all that sure of a wolf/deer connection. I enjoy how much Tippy has to overcome her fears and how much Nix has to be cognizant of her issues, but....the couple still didn't work for me that well.
I like the mix of strong women, brutal men and situations that just have to be dealt with that makes everyone stronger in different ways just makes this a great series.
Spoiler Ahead This was a short quick read book 7.5 in the"RTMC" series. I would have thought that Dawg would have got is own book before the newcomer to the club Nix. After being asked to leave his home club in North Carolina for having sex with the sheriff's daughter. Nix who is a wolf shifter has made a home for himself in Chattanooga he was a Special Forces sniper in the military so he helps run the gun show and also teaches classes. Tiffany "Tippy" Mason who is a deer shifter came to Chattanooga to start her life after her divorce she was married to an Encantado and it was the best sex of her life so Jinn was very charming and good in bed and both of them were sleeping with other people. This was a short quick book that I liked and wanted more of it moved fast. Nix knows that he has to go slow and be honest with Tippy so he does their first sex scene was hot he knows that he can't compete with her ex so he did what wolves do "he laid the wood" and broke his couch while doing it and Tippy was glad about it. Tippy is also bi and she makes a deal with Nix to only be with other women and Pixie a girl that Duke helped was the first one and it was also hot. This was a pretty good book and I really like reading this series. This book was well written like the other's in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series and hopefully Dawg will get his story told soon.
Another great installment to my favorite MC series. A were-wolf and deer-shifter? I thought the bear and the bunny from Horse were a creative paring. Only Candace Blevins could make this work. I love Nix and that like her other MC alpha-heroes his unapologetic about who is and what he offers. I also love that Tippy takes her time and is very deliberate in what she can offer - even though he's totally hot and she's really into him. It was great to have Pixie show up and get a little more of her story. I'm not a fan of f-f, so that didn't work for me, but it didn't detract either.
The Bash Trilogy is still my favorite from the RTMC books, so it was fun to see Angelica and Bash put in an appearance.
This one was another odd pairing, wolf and deer. We have heard a bit about the deer in previous books, but with this one we got more. I liked that Tippy was trying to go against her deer nature and not run when around all the other predators. Was it hard, yes, but she kept working on it.
Nix was interesting. I loved how smitten he was with Tippy, not because she was a deer, but because of her skills at shooting in the Olympics. I loved that Nix both pushed Tippy and let her get used to him and his wolf. He was great at reading her and giving her what she needed.
By the end of the book it was great that they worked out things to be a couple within what works for them.
This a quick read. Nix and Tip were an unusual pairing, predator and prey. I liked the honesty and openness of their relationship. This led to compromises that allowed their relationship to flourish. Would I make the same choices, could I make those compromises. Probably not. But, I'm open-minded, love comes in many forms and that is what makes this series, and Candace's books, interesting.
The writing was sharp, the spicy scenes tantalizing. I knew this was a novella but I still want more. Nix and Tip are just great characters, captivating.
What happens when a big bad biker wolf shifter falls for a deer shifter? Find out in this sexy fun read. Nix is a bit of an asshole until he meets former Olympian shooter Tippy. She is shy and has worked hard to function in society without her deer going crazy. It surprises her and her deer when they look at wolf shifter Nix and think protector rather than run for the hills predator. Find out how the deer tames the wolf in this sexy fun story.
What happens when two natural enemies met? When predator decides he likes his pray for different reasons than food? This is a lovely romance with sweet but persistent wolf shifter who is protective and dominant. He is new to MC and is still learning his way around but was entranced from the beginning with Tippy who is a deer shifter but also an Olympic shooter. Nix was fascinated with her achievement and his love for shooting ( he is snipper) only wants to know her more. I like the dynamics between their human and animal nature and instincts. It was shorter than other MC books but it was sweet romantically erotical book with no suspense.
This was a short quick book.
IDK I just have a hard time thinking of different species being together. A bear and a rabbit and now a deer and a wolf. I don't like the part that she can't stay monogamist either as they say the human is the main part and the deer the second. And the fact she won't stay true to she mate. This story was way too short to let us feel the connection between the couple. Should have been more the 70 pages.
What a great story! Sweet, adorable, loving, sexy & strong is how I'd say this story is. I loved this short story. Nix is sexy, honest, & loving to a fault. Tippy is graceful, sexy, strong & brave. I loved this book.
Thank you for a glimpse of Nix & his lady. I hope to see more of them.
Non monogamous books are not my thing unless all parties are part of the relationship . I am also not interested in girl on girl of multiple girls on a guy . So this book isn't my thing but I still give it 4 stars and those who are into this kind of sex would give it a 5.
I will not pay $3 for an 87 page book. WHY? The entire series has books that run 250-500 pages and the price of $5 - $7 makes sense but this one doesn't. almost seems like she got lazy and took the easy way out...such a shame cause for the most part I have enjoyed reading the books.
Gave it a 1 star due to the price - I haven't read it and won't at the $3 price
RTMC Nix was awesome looking forward to more RTMC books
This book of RTMC Nix was great. I’m looking forward to reading more about the other characters of RTMC books. I really like the realistic and detailed sex “scenes” described & the stories involving a lot of the other RTMC people as well as the couples in the story.
Nix was a short read, but it didn't lack anything in the story department! It was a feel good story in the end, about two people, two shifters, who shouldn't work, but they find a way for it to work because of the feelings they have for each other
I'm reading all of Ms. Blevins books in the reading order she suggests on her website. I'm having so much fun doing it that I'm neglecting to leave decent reviews. But I will when I'm done with everything she has so far other than the Safeword series.
Tippy and Nix are a really likeable couple. They share a passion and talent for shooting guns and their habits are really similar.
I liked how Tippy was a successful Olympian and businesswoman, gunsmith. I really appreciate how she worked really hard to control and fight her fears.
Nix surprised me with his devotion and him falling in love first and admitting it right away. I really appreciate his sense of duty.
This was a novella so not a lot of things are going on but it still felt really well written and completed. the whole story was about building their relationship without drama .It stands on its own but it is so much better to read the whole series.
I really loved this story. I was skeptical (but knew if anyone could do it, Ms Blevins could) on how she would be able to write about a wolf and deer shifter creating and maintaining a realistic relationship. This story is tamer than most of her other books, but is still very captivating
