It's not a bad story, but I wanted less spy stuff and more magic/shifter/romance plot. The last half was kind of boring.

I really enjoyed this story. A mind reader needing quiet and who better than a bear shifter. But besides the peace, Derek brings protection to Sandra, who doesn't know who to trust, and is in danger. A sexy, and exciting read!

If you love quirky, independent heroins give this book a try! I enjoyed reading this story and am looking forward to more from the ladies of The Sector.

"Bear in Mind" by Kate Rudolph is utterly fantastic. There's a new twist to a Bear-Shifter Novel. I loved it. It was so enjoyable.
Kate wrote an awesome book. There were twists and turns in the plot and awesome story-line. Characters were quite unique. I was caught from the start and Kate didn't let go of me until the end. Not even then really. I sure hope there's another book following this one.
There's a Grizzly bear in the stream a few miles away. Sandra hears, "get over hear you damned fish." Fish? Sandra thought. "You're not getting away dam it." Suddenly Sandra felt a cold splash. She was sure someone fell into the stream. But when Sandra got to the stream she only saw a Grizzly Bear which continued to come towards her. Again Sandra heard someone "crap, what's she doing here, is she alright?" Then Sandra passed out and woke up with what she thought was a grizzly bear standing up straight carrying her and out she went again.
It's all too funny and enjoyable to read. When the grizzly shifts back into Derek LaCroix, Sandra wakes up on his couch. Sandra, who is psychic can't read Derek's thoughts at all. She just gets a kind of cloudy, fuzzy white-noise. But she did let him drive her home.
I also loved how Derek went through at least three scenarios and possible responses for everything. But when he was around Sandra, Derek wasn't tongue tied; he didn't have to figure out scenarios and responses. He could talk to her like a regular person and he really liked her. After a couple of days Sandra also liked and trusted Derek.
It continued back and forth like that. Sandra had to re-train herself to read and interpret what his words and actions meant since she couldn't read his thoughts. In searching for a possible reason why she couldn't hear Derek's thoughts. She went on line and came across a sight that said psychics are human and abilities manifest with age. Certain powers may be weakened when faced with paranormal such as Vampires and Shape-shifters.
Sandra blew it off, they didn't exist so Sandra called her friend Canary to see what she might know, but at the same time Canary was calling Sandra about Sector. Ruth had gone off the reservation and hadn't heard from her in over a week. Ruth put Bad Ass to shame. The lady could control lightning bolts with complete accuracy. Ruth had hacked data from base and she may be coming after Sandra.
When Sandra got back to her house, she knew someone had been there. Her door was left open when she had it closed and locked. It had also been trashed. She knew it wasn't Ruth as Ruth wouldn't have let anyone know she had been there so someone else is out to get her.
As Sandra was going through the mess someone placed the barrel of a gun to hear head. It turns out that Ruth Gave herself a bit of an electrical shock so Sandra couldn't read her thoughts and know she was coming. After Ruth had left Sandra, Sandra had been kidnapped by two unknown assailants.
One escaped one was almost beaten to death and then chained to the shower head. While they had wrestled Derek was shot and they found a knife after the chained the assailant up. As a shifter Derek managed to expel the bullet from his body and he was able to heal. Sandra still had a hard time believing it.
Sandra went to check out the hotel room where Ruth was staying. Clean as a whistle. Suddenly three things happened. First, a car crashed into Derek's car. Second, at the bottom of the stairs Sandra's vision went black and she was choking from a bag that was placed over her head and it had tightened around her neck and third, a syringe was jabbed into Sandra's arm and the last thing Sandra heard before she passed out was Derek's roar.

Talk about action, suspense, and sexy, hot, scenes. This one had me hooked from page one. I couldn't put it down. Sandra leaves her undercover job for sector behind when her gift becomes too hard to handle. She moved to a remote home hoping it will help. She senses danger one day after receiving a warning from a former co-worker and runs into the woods only to run into a bear. Derek is grizzly shifter that she met once before. She had no idea he was a shifter, only that she couldn't read his mind. The quiet life she hoped to lead its nowhere to be seen. This is a definite must read! If have already recommended this one to friends.

First off let me say I know when I see Kate Rudolph I am going to get a good book. I have yet to get one that is not entertaining at best. This one was both funny at times and definitely had lots of action of the shoot them up kind.
Sandra leaves the secret agency she works for after being injured and moves to a quite town in Montana. Sandra is so happy because see she can hear thoughts and it has driven her crazy for years being able to hear what everyone is thinking. Well ends up she is not as alone as she thought she was and her gift ends up helping others like Derek *YUMMY) and others who I really hope will get their own stories as well ,

Wow, this one will make you lose sleep!
You absolutely MUST read this book! The story will grab you right from the start and then the twists and turns will keep you stuck in the thick of it until you come to the end. Spies? Got em. Government intrigue? Check. People with secret powers ? Oh yeah. Bear shifters? Yup. The biggest draw though are the badass female operatives who could probably run the world. Throw in some unexpected sexy love and a psychotic evil doer and I am all in! I stayed up through the night to finish this book in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down!

Sandra is a psychic working for a secret agency but on a mission in Khee things went bad and her mind was attacted crumbling her. Because of a bad mission she was let go.
Derek Lacroix is a werebear who happens to be living around her new home Sandra bought in the woods after leaving the agency. When trouble comes after Sandra it may take more then Derek to save her.
Great story. Full of action, mystery, and spice. I love romance stories baced around a great story and has one! You will not be disappointed in this book. Great add to your shifter library

What to expect from this book, well settle in because this book will keep you turning the pages as Sandra looses her job as a covert operative and starts a new quiet life. She hears voices in the woods and thinks someone has fallen in only to find a bear. Derik is going to catch that stubborn fish, what he catches is a curvy woman. Who needs a fish when you can have a mate. Sandra has secrets that have people trying to take her and Derik has secrets also. can they both survive long enough to find out each others secrets. I'm pressed to say that I was very impressed with Kate Rudolph's Bear In Mind book. It's the first book I've read by her but it will not be the last. The characters are well written and easy to like. The reader will form a bond with them right away. Each of the paranormal characters each have human traits that make them seem more real and human. I sincerely hope Ms Rudolph writes more about her world of the unknown Sector and paranormals. I am looking forward to finding out more about Ruth and Canery. Morse could use a book of his own too. I received an ARC for my honest review.

Sandra has left her undercover contractor job and ready for some peace and quiet in Montana. Derek is a grizzly shifter who loves his hideaway in Montana. Things don't stay quiet for Sandra for very long. She runs into a grizzly, thinks she is hearing people in the woods behind her place and that is just the very beginning.

Sandra is a physic who just retired from a government job, She moves to the middle of Montana for some peace and quiet where she meets Derek is a bear shifter who lives close to Sandra's new home. While wandering her land they meet but he is in his bear form, Derek knows that Sandra is his mate. And will do anything to Protect her from danger. This was humorous enjoyable to read.

Derek is strong, caring, and not the usual aggressive alpha male shifter. Sandra is a psychic that is strong, skilled, and trying to make a new life for herself. I love to read about a strong heroine that isn't obsessed with proving her independence! Ms. Rudolph has infused her story with humor, action, mystery, suspense, and steamy romance. The secondary characters were interesting and I hope some day they get their own stories! This story ends with HEA and there isn't a cliff hanger.

After being fired all Sandra wanted to do was be away from people and hearing their thoughts. Derek has lived over 75 years without a mate and he wasn't looking for one until his bear gets a look and sniff of Sandra. Thiis is a great story and well written. It has some action, betrayal and a little romance and a must read.

I just could not get into this book. I like Ms. Rudolph's other books but for some reason I just could not get into this one. Derek and Sandra were well developed characters and there was pretty good suspense but I just could not get into the story. Received this ARC for free for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book. Was a different story from other shifter/human romance novels. Derek is the best thing for her as she's so overwhelmed by thoughts from everyone. She can't read his mind as his bear is a natural shield. Of course trouble just has to show up. Great read and I look forward to more.

A very well done book. Loved the idea of a mind reader meeting a shifter. Different and unique story
that was well written, with lots of adventure, mystery and romance. The characters are extremely likeable, and I enjoyed reading about them. I highly recommend this book to you, you won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing story with tons of intrigue. Derek is a bear shifter and Sandra has been released from her job at The Sector. There are mercenaries trying to kidnap Sandra for their boss who wants to control her psychic abilities.

One of the better paranormal romances I have read lately. Likeable characters, and an interesting plot that had way more going for it than sex scenes. I wish it felt finished but there were a lot of loose ends left at the end.
