With a new baby on the way, a husband and the thought of being just a mother and wife, Moet has some things to think about. The two have their hands filled with career choices and the baby isn't even born yet. Will Zane take another offer without Moet's knowledge, or will Moet finally accept the position without Zane's knowledge?
Tammy is in a happy place raising her daughters along with the help of Big Mama. Everyone around her sees the crush that Latrell has for Tammy; the way he looks at her, treats her and always wants to be around her. Is Tammy hiding and fighting her feelings for Latrell as well? With her mother out of rehab and trying to come back into she and the girl's life, she has some tough decisions to make. Will she forgive her mother and let bygones be bygones? Or will she continue to shut her mother out of her life? To make matters worse, Rick's family isn't pleased about the settlement. Especially his cousin, Ebony, who has brought her issues to Tammy's front door...and everyone knows what happens when you bring your issues to Tammy's front door.
Essence up and left Sept and his cheating ways. Now, she's back in New York and ready to start a career for herself. She was so used to spending and depending on Sept's money. Sept is sick and tired of not having his Essie around and wants her back. He will not stop at anything to get her to grant him another chance, even ignoring his daughter. Essence's mind is made up or is it? She think she's ready for the single life until NBA star, Kamari Fisher, swoops in for the rebound. Will Essence finally get her happy ending with Kamari, or will she be too caught up trying to pick the broken pieces of she and Sept's relationship?
Monett is set to be married and couldn't be more happy. Except she and Hakeem are far from ready. When issues arise for their relationship will they see that marriage isn't in the cards for them...yet? Or against better judgement, will they rush into the marriage just for the sake of it? With her son's father in prison, Monett has to make the choice if she wants her son to have a relationship with his father behind bars. With Jonathan's family pulling her one way and her family pulling her another, she is torn in her decision.
In this FINALE, everyone is dealt a hand and only the strongest will survive. Although these women may have their BAES, sometimes they're not put before anyone else.
I loved how this series ended. Book 4 focused more on Tammy, Monett, and Essence but still gave us insight into Moet and Zane relationship. I was so glad Tammy finally gave Latrell a chance and moved on from Rick's death. She truly deserves to be happy. Monett needed her tail beat for how she handled Hakeem. He put her in her place tho and I beat she learned her lesson. Essence finally fought her backbone and I am glad she didn't give into Savion and take him back. Her and Kamari make such a great couple. I love Moet and Zane relationship they were truly committed to each other and that's true relationship goals. I definitely recommend this 5 star series, it's bittersweet tho cause I really enjoyed all of these characters.
I enjoyed this last installment to the series the most. You could see the growth in everyone. I did find it funny that most of the men seemed to have it WAY MORE together than the women, were more mature and knew what they wanted. Don't see that often in books. I mean there were a couple screw-ups but it didn't compare to the issues the women had collectively. Aside from some minor writing errors it was well written and held my attention throughout.
I was so happy with this ending and it couldn't have ended better. I thought book 3 was it but Jahquel J. had better plans. I'm happy that Essence got the love that she deserved and Tammy finally true with her feelings about Latrell. Glad Moet and Zyair are all good and Monett got her ish together... Great series
I loved how the author added more characters with each book, without overwhelming the story line. I was captivated with the way the characters had to face some hard challenges and relationships were pushed past their comfort zone.
This was a good series I enjoyed it from the beginning to end I feel as though I know each of the characters personally I give this series 5***** stars..... I look forward to reading more books by this author....
Tammy sipped her tea and looked at me before she spoke. “I fucked Latrell on Rick’s birthday,” she blurted and I lifted my head up quickly. “How the hell did that happen, Tam?” “We were drinking and talking and then it’s all a blur after that. Moet came by to check on me and said he was fucking the shit out of me. I feel like a dirty little whore,” she laughed and went to get some milk for her tea. “What’s bugging me out that he ain’t called or text me. Was my pussy that loose?” she asked without cracking a smile. I laughed at how dead serious she was. “Tammy, I know damn well it wasn’t your pussy,” I said in between laughs. This is why came over to her house because she was sure to make me forget my own issues. “Well damn, then I don’t know. I kind of want to call him and do the shit again while the girls are gone,” she pondered on her statement and grabbed the house phone. “Hell, why not? I’m grown, he’s grown,” she mumbled and punched in his number. I sat silently as I watched her talk on the phone with him. I guess he agreed to come over and she ended the call. “What did he say?” “He said he’s gonna come over and help me with this broken couch,” she replied and I squinted my eyes at her. “What? I wasn’t going to tell him to come and get some pussy. You gotta ease your way into shit. That’s why you and your sister got kids and you’re on your second.” “Tammy, you got two damn kids, what the hell you talking about?” I laughed because she was a character. “I was married to my husband, y’all hoes don’t count.” I waved her silly ass on and made my way to the living room. I laid across the couch and looked at each couch. Wasn’t nothing wrong with the couches. “What the hell is wrong with the couch?” “Not a damn thing. When he comes, I’ll be in bed and you’ll let his ass upstairs.” “You are doing entirely too much for some dick. You could tell you haven’t been in the game for a while. What happened to y’all both grown?” “You wanna place to stay while your man out there almost cheating on your ass?” Waving my hands in surrender, I turned my attention to the television. “Oh, and can you make me something to eat?” “Girl, this isn’t the Holiday Inn. This is Tammy’s Eight where we leave the light on. Ain’t no free complimentary breakfast, bih,” she laughed and walked upstairs. I laughed and looked down at my flat stomach. There was another little baby inside of me and I had to get myself together. I had to do better and stop being so dependent on a man. I went from abusive ass Johnathan and now I was dependent on Hakeem taking care of me. It was so easy to fall into the routine of shopping and not having to earn your living. I heard the doorbell ring and got up to answer it. Sure enough it was Latrell with a goofy ass grin spread across his face. I laughed because I didn’t know who they were fooling with this charade. “What’s good, Monett?” he hugged me and went toward the stairs. “Hey, umm, the couches are down here,” I laughed and leaned on the wall. He looked back at me and smirked. “Nah, I think she meant the couches in her room. Those look fine to me.” He took off upstairs before I could even get another word in. I walked upstairs to the guestroom and laid down. It only took a minute before I was snoring up a storm and listening to the headboard slam into the wall. So much for some good sleep.
The series was so good, and my favorite couple was Zane and Moët. After Moët finally grew up, she became the wife that she needed to be for Zane. She was already a great mother, but she needed to tone the bratty attitude down to a minimum. Zane loved her so much, but everything wasn't about her, and being married, you have to come to a compromise.
Tammy was my favorite character, and she loved her husband so much. I hated that Ricky left her to be a single mother, but it's not like he had a choice in the matter. She ended up finding love again, after she stop fighting it, and I was estatic for her. You could feel the love that she had for her husband, and she seen Ricky in her children daily. She also was the voice of reason for everyone, and she was the problem-solver with her no nonsense blunt personality.
Monett was all over the place, mentally, and she wasn't ready for Hakeem. Hakeem really loved Monett, but because she had so much going on, she didn't see it, until she almost lost it. I'm so happy that she finally got it together, and realized what was best for both herself and her children.
I really enjoyed this series. Through all the fighting, screaming, stubborn behavior, and misunderstanding happy ending do exist. Essence jump right on in with the ladies and became thier family. She didn't play about them just like they didn't play about her. The sisterly bond was dope and real. They had to get Monett together so many time it wasn't funny. Tammy, although she's not over her first love, she did find comfort in her new boo. She happens to be my favorite character in this series. Essence and Kamari relationship was just too cute, I was mad how she spazzed out on him. Heck even Amy did some changing. All in all I like how it turned out.
From Series 1 through 4. I could hardly put it down. So much excitement. Many powerful people to relate too. This author is going places. You truly have me as a fan and follower. I like your style of writing. A must read series you can relate to. Powerful characters
In a good way I’m sad to finish...I see there more to the series so I have something to look forward to....I tried nit to finish but the ladies make so many changes that I ended up breezing thru.. can’t wait to continue
This was a good wrap up to the series. I’m glad Tammy found someone to love. Moët and Zane were my favorites, they were adorable as parents. Monett was annoying. Hakeem was a saint to deal with entitled self.
Omg this series was excellent. The ups and downs of relationships, men holding their women accountable for their actions, mended family relationships, substance abuse, and more. This author touched on so many real life situations and the outcomes. It was great.
When I first downloaded this book I was a little apprehensive. The only thing going through my mind was that Ms. Jahquel ended on a high note with book 3 and I was hoping(and yes praying) that this wasn't going to be a Michael Jordan situation where she came back and didn't live up to my expectations. Well I am pleased to say that she lived up to my expectations and exceeded them. This book allowed us to see the growth of the characters that we fell in love with at the beginning of the series. We see Tammi still dealing with the loss of Rick but getting to a point where she allows love to begin to grow in her heart for Latrell. Our girl Essence realizes that she has to live for herself and along the way she is able to find an unexpected gift. Monett, bless little tink tink's heart lost her WHOLE mind there for a minute but eventually with a sister and friends that gave it to her straight with no chaser, she got herself together. What can I say about my girl Mo, she really grew up and continued to thrive and do well in her marriage with Zyair all while navigating the bumpy road called motherhood. It was an enjoyable ride to revisit the lives of these characters and to feel that we received a true sense of closure. It was almost like being a mother and feeling proud to let them go into the world on their own. (DRAMATIC MUCH!!! LOL) At any rate Ms. Jahquel you hit a home run out the park once again young lady. I will continuously expect great things when you sit behind that desk to create and I"m sure that you won't disappoint. Great Job!!!!!
Im so glad i got my reading mojo back and started this book. All the relationships have you on a roller coaster ride.I love all of the relationships doe they are totally different in their own way.Moet and Zane are my favorite im so glad she got her happy ever after. Omg... out if the last 10 books i have read this series had me smiling laughing, crying and just datum... I loved that realness came from the men and the women. I loved the reality in this series. Real men with legit jobs, a women who loved to work for their own although their men were athletes and business men. I am so upset the series has ended. Thank you Jahquel for your gift.
Sept needs time to himself. Him and Jenna should just co-parent cause their not a good fit. Monett finally got her sh!t together.
