That Man Trilogy by Nelle L'Amour
Adult Contemporary full series
That Man series by Nelle L'Amour was a sexy and fun read, and my favorite part about it is some of it took place in our book world, often mentioning my favorite books or authors.

Jennifer McCoy is out with friends to celebrate (or mourn) her engagement to Mr. Excitement, the dentist she has been with since college. He's boring, he's anal, he doesn't give her an orgasm and he never puts her first.
"The waiting area of his office was for sure a reflection of his penis— I mean, Prius. Small, compact, and energy efficient since it seemed to have the barest amount of air conditioning allowed by human labor laws. An oppressive cheapskate."

At her engagement celebration (without Mr. Excitement) she plays a little Truth or Dare with her friends, and ends up having to kiss a stranger blindfolded. Holy smokes, what a kiss it was! Jennifer was never kissed like that and she couldn't stop thinking about it and wondering about the guy she never fully saw.

Blake Burns can't stop thinking about the beautiful girl who was blindfolded and kissed him at the bar. It is borderline obsession, and he could kick himself for not getting her number, or even her name.  Blake was a total player, and as head of SIN TV, the adult portion of his father's media conglomerate, he could pretty much get any girl he wanted, yet this one was stuck in his head.

But when the star of his fantasies walks into his office as a new hire, Blake is determined to make Jennifer his. Fiance or not. Commence "Operation Dickwick", which is Blake's way of eliminating the competition.

Blake's Jewish grandmother was my favorite character. She reminded me so much of my own.
“Dentist shmentis. Bubala, with your looks, you could do a lot better. Get yourself a nice rich man with a big shmekel like that Christian Grey— or my grandson.”

Jennifer has a great idea to raise SIN TV's horrible daytime ratings. Take today's popular erotic romances and make them into daytime mini series! This brought them to do market research at a Vegas signing where they met with a bunch of readers and authors. The author described a signing so accurately it was loads of fun to read, especially when many of my favorite books were mentioned.
"Of course, Fifty Shades of Grey was mentioned, but so were so many others— Arianne Richmonde’s The Pearl Trilogy, CD Reiss’s Songs of Submission, and R.K. Lilley’s Up in the Air series to name a few. There seemed to be no end to the list of books and authors these voracious readers devoured."

And in a focus group the readers loved their book boyfriends!
“Drew Evans. Sexy arrogant man whore!”
“Remington Tate. One sweet, confusing, fucking hot beast of a man!”
“Ethan Blackstone. Oh my God! Sex in a suit! So smoking hot!”
“James Cavendish. Whew! I need me some Mr. Beautiful now!”

The first two books in the series were tons of fun, sexy and fast moving. But then book three almost seemed to be written by a different person. It was much longer than the first two and lost most of the lighthearted, fun feel. It felt like it dragged on forever, like it was fluffed up to make it full length.

That Man Quote
Likes:

•All of the mentions of a book signing and books we all love.
•The Jewish grandma.
•Had all of the things I love in a book: Humor, Heart, Heat and HEA.
•Some very exciting moments.
•A rarely seen sexy alpha Jewish guy.

Dislikes:

•The third book seemed to drag and lost a lot of the light humor.
•Without spoiling, Jennifer had something really scary happen, and seemed to completely blow it off and forget it so easily in the next scene.

The Down and Dirty:
The That Man Series by Nelle L'Amour started out really great to me. Fast moving, sexy and funny, I couldn't get enough. Bringing in our world of book signings and erotic romances made it so much more fun because it's like recognizing your friends in books. But the third book in the series really dragged for me and lost a lot of humor of the first 2. The first two would be 4.25 stars. The last would be 3.25 stars. As a series, I will stick with 3.75. I did buy Gloria's Secret which is about another couple in the book, so I look forward to reading more by Miss L'Amour.

Rating: 3.75 stars, 4.25 Heat

4 Tiger Stars

Young sheltered Jennifer McCoy (aka Calamity Jen - because she can't seem to stay on her own two feet), is not only recently engaged to her college sweetheart, Bradley Wick, DDS, but she has recently gotten a job working at SIN-TV for well known playboy and son of of the owner, Blake Burns.

Little does she know that she's encountered Blake before. He recognizes her right away and is willing do anything it takes to make her his. He's changing his ways and learning to be a better man. But there are some stumbling blocks along the way. How can he convince Jen that her fiancé is the wrong man for her and he's the right one?

Jen can't stop thinking about Blake, and can't understand why things with Bradley don't seem to feel the way they should. Will she realized that "Dickwick the Dentist" isn't the man for her? And if he's not, then is "That Man" ?

description

This was really cute. I read Unforgettable first, so Blake and Jen were in it, but I hadn't realized they had their own story. I have to say that it read really easy and quick. The sex scenes were really good and well described.

I did take issue with Jen always jumping to conclusions. I got that she had a really sheltered upbringing, but sometimes you have to go on faith. I'm not saying be a doormat and not see what's right in front of you, but her go-to was not letting the other person explain the situation.

I will definitely read more from Nelle. It's usually funny and sweet.

Blake Burns and Jennifer McCoy have history .... HA!, not the kind you're thinking of. Jennifer was out one night with her friends celebrating her engagement. They played a little game of truth or dare and Jennifer had to kiss THAT MAN, which she did, enthusiastically. Unbeknownst to her, that little kiss was about to turn her world upside down, sideways and maybe a little twirly :) And let's not forget about THAT MAN, aka Blake Burns. He too will have his life changed. You see, not only did the kiss rock their worlds, but they didn't stay strangers for long because Blake just so happened to be .... her new boss! Let the games begin! And begin they did!

The story of Blake and Jennifer is surrounded by an incredible cast of deliciously humorous people. Their journey was one big smiley face after another. It was a super easy story to read and get caught up in. It had just the right amount of humor and comedy to balance out the small angst and suspense in the story-line. The chemistry between our leads was palpable and very well presented in the story. Nelle L'Amour can write some serious sexy~sexy time :)

If you're looking for a fun, lighthearted romance story, you've come to the right place. I'd highly recommended it to anyone who needs a good laugh in their lives!

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS TRILOGY... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! I was blown away by this sometimes funny, emotional, passionate, and so absolutely HOT book!

What begins as a game of Truth or Dare and a blindfolded earthshaking kiss evolves into a story that will tug your hearts and put an extra bounce in your step. Our author takes a rake/womanizer/player, Blake, and throws him for a loop by pairing him with a drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, professional woman- Jennifer. She will steal his heart and soul. How these two endearing characters bridge the gap from their opposite sides of the spectrum of love, makes for an enjoyable and delightful read.

By the way, I loved Grandma and her Yiddish sayings. In addition, I will never look at a breakfast of pancakes and sausages, with plenty of maple syrup, the same way again. They used an ENTIRE bottle of maple syrup and none of it on the pancakes! To me, that will remain the most memorable scene in a book!

Lucky for us all three parts of this trilogy are available in this box set so you can read the entire story all together. I can proudly say I read all three parts in one day and loved it. I could not put it down!

Nelle L'Amour, I have read a few of your books but I have seldom relished a book the way I did this trilogy. Thank you for your sense of humor, your humanity, your sensibility, and most of all for your storytelling gift.

Book 1
I really enjoyed this book. I wanted to tell Jennifer to dump her fiancée and get with a real man. Blake is sex on s stick and exactly what Jennifer needs but Blake is her boss. The chemistry they have is off the charts and I can't wait to read what happens next

Book 2
With the connection between Blake and Jennifer undeniable, Blake will do anything to get Jennifer to see she is with the wrong man. Will Blake succeed and finally get Jennifer? I couldn't wait to read what happens next. I can't get enough of Blake & Jennifer

Book 3
What an amazing story. I was so rooting for Blake & Jennifer. With Blake never had felt this way before for a woman, he knew Jennifer was it. They fell for each other and want happens when a secret exposed could ruin everything. The love they share is amazing and them apart is horrific. This series ended perfectly and I can't wait to read more of Nelle books

This is a trilogy of quick and easy reads.

The main characters are Jennifer and Blake. Jennifer is newly engaged and on a night out with friends when they dare her to kiss a stranger. That is when she first meets Blake and he can't forget it, until she walks into his office for a job and he makes it his mission to have her. But with multiple factors getting in the way it is unsure what will happen to Blake and Jennifer.

There are only a few secondary characters and none I found particularly noteworthy.

The storyline isn't the most original but it is a quick and easy read. The pacing was good for such a short series of books and the cliffhanger ending after each book in the series made me desperate to read more.

3 stars, a good read

Holy bee-jeezus Ms. L'Amour is killing me with her excellence in writing and amazing stories she brings us. I could not get enough of Jennifer and Blake.

Jennifer McCoy is the complete opposite of what Blake Burns is used to having. She is a petite brunette and Blake likes the blonde bombshell type. But when Jennifer kisses Blake on a truth or dare, he can't stop thinking about her. Jennifer has no idea that Blake is the guy she kisses since she is blindfolded and to make matters worse, she ends up working for Blake at her new job.

When Blake sees Jennifer again he instantly knows who she is and as they start working together he starts realizing that he really likes this girl. If only he could get her to like him back. Except there is only one little problem.....Jennifer is engaged! Jennifer thinks she loves her fiance but deep down inside she's having doubts about her engagement with him. It would have to take a lot for her to leave him and boy does Blake do the impossible to get Jennifer to realize that her fiance is all wrong for her.

Can Blake and Jennifer make it work even though he has a reputation of being a player? Can he change his ways and finally realize that there is such a thing as having only ONE woman?

What will it take for Blake to realize that Jennifer is the ONE? And what will it take for Jennifer to get Blake to be her one and only?

There is so much happening in this series that it will leave you in awe of how great this series is. I gasped, I moaned, I screamed and then I laughed my butt off with this series.

Ms. L'Amour couldn't have done a better job with this series and I'm absolutely in love with Jennifer and Blake. They are one amazing couple and boy, oh boy the sex between them is just freaking hot off the charts!! I mean, my cheeks were even turning pink from time to time but I absolutely loved it! The banter between them was just hilarious at times that I couldn't stop laughing. Can't forget the little suspense going on in the book too. I just can't stop thinking about how great this series was!

Total worth the read and one you will not regret!!

5 amazing stars for this trilogy <3

Welcome to the world of SIN-TV ‘Television so hot, your screen will sizzle’ or in the case of this trilogy ‘A story so hot, your kindle will sizzle’!

I am kicking myself that I’ve never read this series before. It was truly amazing and had the perfect blend of romance, comedy and even suspense with a dash of angst. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the smexy scenes. That Man could blow your tonsils out ;)

During a night out to celebrate her engagement (minus one fiancé), Jennifer McCoy, plays a game of Truth or Dare which will irrevocably change her life forever. Blindfolded on a dare, Jennifer is kissed to within an inch of her life by That Man! He awakens feelings in her she never knew existed. There is only one teeny tiny problem, well apart from her boring fiancé. Unbeknownst to her, That Man is in fact her new boss, the head of SIN-TV himself, Mr Blake Burns.

Blake freely admits he’s a bit *coughs* of a player, but that kiss really knocked him on his ass and he can’t stop thinking about Jennifer. He’s determined to make her his; no matter what it takes!!

I don’t know how many times I snorted and laughed out loud to the point I had tears streaming down my face. There is a whole host of colourful characters including Blake’s octogenarian naughty Grandma, Muriel, and her obsession with Blake’s shmekel to Jennifer’s gay best friend, Chaz.

Yet the romance between Blake and Jennifer is still at the heart of the story. Don’t you just love a reformed bad boy. When they fall; they fall hard:

“You’re my air, baby. I need you to breathe.”

All together now “1, 2, 3! Le sigh….”

I’ve just added another author to my auto buy list. Now, what can I download next…..

I wavered between giving this book a 3 star and a 4 star. The first two books in this trilogy I really liked and I would average as a 4 star read, however the last book wasn't what I expected at all and read more like it was a different author altogether. This caused me to skim read more than half the book.

It all starts with a kiss, a blindfolded dare with a mystery man. When Blake opens his office door at SIN-TV the next day, his new assistant and development executive is the woman he kissed the night before and she doesn't know. So begins the dance of attraction between the two and Blake's plan to get her free from her fiancee. Jennifer is attracted to Blake, but is limited by the ring on her finger and the promises she's made.

A great cast of secondary characters, especially Blake's outspoken grandmother, with her outrageous behaviour and sayings, and Jennifer's girlfriend Libby who's there to take it all in stride and offer good advice.

Overall the books together were fun, sometimes a bit cheesy and maybe a few issues that could have been handled better. Seeing the hard player turn to downright mush was fun in the first two books but really overdone in the last, therein being my problem on a whole.

I didn't love the books, but i did like them. Interesting to have little view inside the porn industry on the outside and what actually goes into finding ideas and create new shows. Forgiveness and love in the end comes out, but with another series involving these two to come out it seems there is more to this story that's to be exposed.

I have fallen in love with Nelle L'Amour's writing. I loved Unforgettable and after reading it I really wanted to know Blake and Jen's story. That Man Trilogy is the start of Blake and Jen's story.

I loved Blake! He is exactly what you would expect a handsome porn channel exec to be. He is cocky, arrogant, devastatingly handsome, a man-whore and has a large shmekel. I enjoyed his character's growth and how he learned from his mistakes. Blake knew who he was and accepted his faults.

Jen is sweet, clumsy, strong, quirky and confident. She doesn't back down from something she believes in. Jen is a little naive at times, but I enjoyed her character's growth as well. She has faults and embraces them.

The trilogy ends in a HEA but to get all the juicy details about crazy Kat you need to also pick up That Man 4 & 5. I highly recommend this series. There is funny banter and a crazy grandma. Grandma was my favorite character :)

Another excellent trilogy.
Loved all the main characters in the book. The book read fast and never dragged.
I read this after reading the Unforgettable series- I'm reading them back to front which is usually a pet hate for me but it doesn't seem to matter with these books I'm enjoying them so much.
Going to read Jamie and Gloria's series now.

If you only read 1 book by Nelle L'Amour make sure it's this one, because you won't be able to stop afterwards.
That Man: the Trilogy was my first introduction to all that is Nelle L'Amour's writing.
I devoured this book a few years ago, then again when The Wedding duet came out, and again this week, when That Man 6 was released into the wild, and let me tell you, Blake Burns may have been older in that one, but he was still just a scrumptiously delicious, sexy and downright seductively devil-may-care as he is in this three book series.
Meet the man who swept Jen away with just one blind-folded kiss. He made me swoon with simply that.
The story is filled with a lot of shenanigans, hot sex and a nasty bad guy, but nothing phased my man.
Love Blake and this series so, so hard.

The series was entertaining enough to read through to the end, but honestly I wasn't thrilled with anything about it. In particular, the character development felt flat and many of the secondary characters felt like bad stereotypes. There was some decent chemistry between the H/h, but that just made the melodramatic over-reaction that much more annoying and unbelievable in my opinion. I think the box set would have been 3 stars (not 2) if not for the second half of the last book, where the reactions of characters seemed largely unrealistic and not relatable. Not the worse use of my time, but I won't be seeking out other books by this author.

Jennifer is celebrating her engagement and at the club she chooses to take a dare and kiss a stranger, blindfolded. That kiss is like nothing she has ever experienced. When she removes her blindfold he is gone. Her new boss is surprised to find the blindfolded woman who kissed him is his new employee. He is drawn to her but she has to decide she doesn't want her fiance first.

This had some fun moments that made me laugh, lots of sparks flying between Blake and Jennifer and some sweet happily ever after. I am looking forward to jumping into the next book to learn more about Blake and Jennifer.

I throughly enjoyed these books. Blake was straight out funny. When he decided he wanted Jennifer for himself, at the time he saw no issue in what he did in trying to get Jennifer to give him a chance. He always put his foot in his mouth because sex has taken over brain. Jennifer knew Blakely never put first. He found fault in everyything she wanted or wanted to do. He even would not allow her to choose a restaurant for dinner. He would said they had nothing for vegens to eat. Being around Blake she realized how selfish her fiancee was and was willing to do what made happy.

Great story with real characters

This was written in alternating first person. I liked getting into Blake's head as well as Jennifer's. Blake was just a normal dude with normal sexy thoughts; I loved his internal monologue! He's not an intimidating guy like many alpha men and I really liked that.
I really loved the writing style of this author- lots of sexy scenes, but still lots of story to keep you interested.
I'm definitely going to read more from this author!

This trilogy set had parts I loved and parts I didn't like. The editing errors interfere with the flow of writing or I would have rated it 4 stars. All three books have so many typos that parts of the story were difficult to follow.

Also, the heroine seems flaky when it comes to her commitment to the hero. I love you, I'm not speaking to you, I love you, you're a deceitful #**, oh and now I'm back to I can't live without you.

TRUTH OR DARE!!! This is the crux of the story. Jennifer and Blake. A blind folded Jennifer at her engagement party and a stranger who she kissed for the game of truth or dare. Jennifer’s new job. Her boss is Blake who is a player. But when he meets Jennifer he remembers who she is. The blindfolded woman who kissed him and she does not know. Oh boy, this should be fun. Just love these stories!

That Man hits all the right places!

What a way to be introduce to Nelle L'Amour's story-telling! The trilogy is mixed-bag of romance, comedy and suspense but at the heart of it all is a story that will tell you that the heart gets what the heart wants. You don't have to see things to believe that when you are meant for each other, fate will find a way for you to be together. Love it!

Falling Deep

Blake Burns is the typical Hollywood player. Only seen with girls that their names start with K and end in long legs and blond hair. Having sex pads in all areas in the city nothing will be able to prepare him for her. Jennifer is a small petite thing with brown hair and big green eyes. A recent college graduate. She is starting as at his father's company as his right hand. This book had some real funny parts. Wasn't at all what I expected. I enjoyed it.

A Surprising Twist That Made For A Really Good Read!

This trilogy was very well written. I liked the plot, which was different than a lot of books I read. I loved the characters, especially the leading male, who, while a man whore and Alfa, can't seems to get anything right. This book was a refreshing change of pace. I highly recommend it!

That Man Trilogy by Nelle L'Amour is a fun filled, emotional sexy romp. A classic opposites attract romance, the That Man Trilogy gives us the first three books in the five book series. I loved Blake and Jennifer's story. It is steamy, sexy, hot and fun but also very emotionally engaging. A very good read.
