A careless driver sweeps newcomer Topher Brookman off the road and into the ditch, six miles from home. Ill-equipped to walk home, Topher staggers into the yard of a stranger. Life in a rural, conservative town has taught Topher to keep his mouth shut, but his host is just gorgeous, and Topher's brain is more than half-frozen, anyway.
Chase Miller loves winter and the snow, but finds life hard in his hometown. He’s been looking for a way to get out, or maybe, just maybe, a reason to stay. When a snow-covered, handsome guy ends up seeking refuge in Chase’s home during the storm, Chase can’t help but flirt. Because country boys know, where there’s a spark, there’s usually flame.
Lynn Townsend is a displaced Yankee, a mother, a writer, a dreamer, and the proud owner of a small black hole residing under her desk that tends to eat kittens, odd socks, staplers, and her car keys.
This was delightfully sexy and steamy. Both Chase and Topher are likable, and they have terrific chemistry. The story is exactly what it should be when it comes to a snowstorm hookup: A good time had by all but with the dangling possibility for more. Not an instant-love-connection tale, just two men warming up by the fire.
