But what could I do? I was just a little cat and nobody ever listened to me. I made a promise to myself that I’d do everything I possibly could to save her, whatever the danger to me, and no matter how many lives I lost in the process...

I live in Chelmsford, UK, with my husband Alan. We have three married daughters and six grandchildren. I've been writing ever since I was a little girl, and finally achieved my lifelong ambition to have a novel published, with the acceptance in 2002 of 'The Trouble With Ally'. Prior to this, I'd been having short stories published in women's magazines for about ten years.
My most recent books are stories set in the English county of Devon, and most include pets in the story! They are feel-good contemporary fiction.
I worked for most of my life as a medical secretary. I now write full-time. I like to relax by reading, walking, swimming, and seeing my family and friends.
I am passionate about my writing and love to hear from my readers. I am also happy to give talks to writers' groups and others, and book signings, in my local area.
Charlie The Kitten Who Saved A Life by Sheila Norton is positively delightful. Written in the first person from the point of view of Charlie, the reader 'sees' all the action through the eyes of a cat. Sheila Norton is a master story teller and really captured the imagination. I truly believed Charlie was narrating the story! As a crazy cat lady with five cats, I certainly recognised the traits of a cat. The whole tale was wonderful and uniquely done. There are the themes of love and loyalty, watchfulness and safety, family and friendship. I loved the bond between Charlie and his humans. I admired his bravery with the feral cats. His exchanges with them were enchanting. The whole novel was just exquisite and too delightful for words. I love Sheila Norton's books. I always languish in her words, never wanting them to end. Buy Charlie The Kitten Who Saved A Life today and fall head over heels in love with Charlie, the small kitten with the big heart.
It's a charming book by Sheila Norton. The story introduces Charlie, a small cat with a big heart.
Charlie is not your ordinary kitten. He is determined to make a difference. However, there's a catch—nobody ever listens to him. Poor Charlie, right?
The story revolves around Charlie, the cat, who is cleverly portrayed as a protector, not just a kitten. He fearlessly protects Caroline, the little girl who loves him. When she decides to run away from home, a resolute Charlie follows her, leading to an unexpected adventure.
Sheila Norton's writing is a delightful blend of innocence and charm. This heartwarming story, narrated by Charlie, the clever and protective cat, is a journey back to childhood's innocent and endearing tales. I could vividly picture the cats and kittens gathered around, listening intently to his tale. The author's ability to see the world through Charlie's eyes offers amusing insights into human behaviour.
As an ex-cat owner, I found Charlie's adorable and humorous behaviour incredibly endearing. It brought back many fond memories of my own "Charlie, the cat," who saved my life when I needed it. This heartwarming story warmed my heart and brought a lot of joy and laughter into my life. I'm sure it will do the same for you! Great story. I would highly recommend it.
Znova, milé a jednoduché čítanie s "rozprávkovým" nádychom a umelými dialógmi.
The idea was fun and the execution is ok. I was way too annoyed, though, by the sexism. The adult men in this book are manbabies: they get babies and then act as if they don't have to care for said baby. One of them plans a vacation without talking to his partner, while also planning to be absent for the majority of the vacation (neglecting previously-mentioned baby and partner again). The other man simply works and goes to the pub afterwards. Please don't have babies if you don't want to care for them, and please don't treat your partner as a maid. I'm allergic for this. Added: Do NOT feed milk to cats!!
An adorable story told from the point of view of one very brave kitten. It was a little slow going at first but not boring. When Charlie was lost and living rough my heart ached for him as I imagined my own kitties lost and in that situation. There were some funny bits with the friends he made along the way and the many adventures he had. I'd recommend for any cat lovers.
I stayed up late last night to finish this book, and it was well worth it! I'd read "Oliver" earlier, and loved it, and thought I'd enjoy this one as well. Wow - I loved it! What adventures this cat has. He's no cowardly kitten, for sure.
Bijna in één dag uitgelezen.
Instead of Oliver telling his story to young Charlie, Charlie tells his story to Oliver and the neighborhood cats. In his dangerous attempt to save bratty adolescents from their own stupidity, Charlie finds himself lost among feral cats learning to survive in the streets. It's almost as good as the first book except for the bratty adolescents.
