A standalone full length romance novel of sexy, shifter werewolves!
Luke Tully has a dark side. He’s spent a decade under the control of a powerful, ruthless Alpha who made him do things that would have broken lesser men. Though he found the strength to break free, he knows he can never live under pack rule again. He comes to a far off outpost on Wild Lake lands to see if there’s anything left of the good man he knows he once was. But, when he meets Tamryn Kane, she stirs his wolf and long buried passions within him that just might bring out the darkness inside him he’s tried so desperately to contain.
Like Luke, Tamryn knows all about life as an outcast. With her Irish roots and flaming red hair, she never quite fits in with her mother’s people, the proud Odawa of Oodena, Michigan. What’s worse, she’s been warned about men like Luke. Her grandfather calls him Wendigo. A demon. But, when Luke’s lips brush hers, when his tortured soul calls out to her, she can’t turn away. Though their love may be cursed, the pull between them feels like fate.
Can this beauty finally help quell the beast inside of Luke? And when Tamryn learns the truth about Luke’s past, can she love him anyway?
Reader’s Note: Each book in the Wild Lake Wolves series is a full length, standalone, cliffhanger free, super sexy, werewolf shifter romance. You can read them in any order but the smoking hot events within each happen chronologically. These wolves like it rough! If you’re not into that, you might want to sit this one out. However if you like hot, dominant, alpha male werewolf shifters and the kickass heroines who will do anything to please them, then one-click away and enjoy the ride!
As a civil lawyer, I spent many, many years writing complex legal briefs for unappreciative bosses. To keep from stabbing myself (or them) in the eye with a fork during all of that, I also started writing down the stories in my head. All on my own time, of course ;) Turns out, I'm a sucker for hot, alpha male shifters and kickass heroines.
Now, I've thrown away my shingle (er - more like burned it in a fire pit) so I can devote my time to bringing you sizzling, erotic, paranormal romance stories. If you like hunky, bad boy shifters, women who know what they want in and out of the bedroom, panty-melting sex scenes, and edge of your seat suspense, I've got you covered! We'll put the rahr in erotic romance (okay, okay, that sounded better in my head).

Kindle Unlimited This was an enjoyable read with a good background story and a fine end that didn't hit you in the face a third of the way through the book. I liked the heroine and her hero was pretty damn dark, brooding and sexy.
I'm enjoying Kimber White's Wild Lake Wolves series as sexy read with plenty of supporting story well written with a good vocabulary.
TITLE: Dark Wolf: Book: 2 SERIES: (Wild Lake Wolves ) AUTHOR: Kimber White GENRE: Romance- shapeshifters PUBLICATION: January 27th 2016 MY RATING 5 Stars
This is the 2nd book in the Wild Lake Wolves Series, but it couldn't be read as a standalone. I know what the blur says... but for you to fully enjoy this book Plz read Rogue Alpha Book 1... You'll love it... But if not, your lost...
After reading Rogue Alpha I knew Luke had to have his own book. I knew it would be special ,Cuz Luke is so special. There are some turn of events that are in Rogue Alpha Book 1, which made me happy I read it
Tamryn Kane: lost her parents when she was eight years of age and had to go live with her grandfather. He was one of the Original Nine to settle Oodena. For some reason unknown to Tamryn why her grandfather had sent her away to live with strangers. There were secrets that Tamryn was not told about her family or the town. Now 10 years later she back to look after her grandfather who is suffering from dementia.
"What happens to the women of your family when they don’t do what they’re told?"
Luke Tully: has a dark side & after having lived under his ruthless half-brothers reign for years, his defeated and Luke is set free. He finds a place, away from everyone and everything he knows, to see if there's anything left of the good man he once was. When he meets Tamryn Kane, she stirs his wolf like no other but he still struggles to contain the darkness within him.
This book is filled with suspense, Lies, Twist & turns- Most all loyalty and a Lil romance. I found this story fast paced and an exciting read. The Wild Lake Wolves Series has been one continuous great read after another looking forwards to more books about these wolves. Keep up the good work Ms. White
I got this book for an honest review. And I am so happy I got it. I also read the other books in this series, but this is kind of different. The difference is that Luke is a lone wolf and not a member of a pack anymore. He has a terrible past and struggles to keep into his human form.
Tamryn has her own problems, living alone with her grandfather. Being back after so many years. Not fitting in really well. Luke helps her with her grandfather one time and from that time she keeps on getting pulled to him. Logically, because she is his mate. But Luke is afraid of his own demons and to turn into one he keeps her at a distance. Tamryn is a strong woman and doesn't let Luke get away with that. She fights for him and herself. Against the town and against her grandfather.
Things turn for the worst when Luke runs and her grandfather is in the hospital and the bad police guy is still after Tamryn for his own reasons.
Lots of emotion, adventure and erotic moments in this story. Loved it. The moment when her grandfather leaves the hospital and something bad is happening (not want to spoil by saying what did happen) and the moment her grandfather thanks Luke for his help was so touching.
Wow, sexy shifter romance! Tamryn Redbird has returned to Oodena after many years. She is determined to care for her elderly grandfather even though he is the one that sent her to live with her father's family. She meets Luke Tully in the woods, in a snowstorm, when she needs help with her unconscience grandfarher. Tamryn and Luke belong together, but Luke in particular will fight his attraction to Tamryn because of past events. Tamryn knows that Luke is the man she wants, but her grandfather and the townspeople will try to keep them apart. Fantastic book, I love these characters, this story is sexy and exciting.
I received this ARC free from the suthor in exchange for an honest review.
Wow This book is as good as the first. It has more twist and turn. With a big mystery, lots of drama and suspance. I laugh and wanted to cry.i felt like I was in the story, I wanted to slap a few people. I am glad it ended the way it did. I will leave the spoilers for other people. I would recommend this book. So grab your copy, and your favorite drink and turn the world off so you don't miss anything.
I throughly enjoyed this werewolf paranormal action packed suspense romance novel. The characters were well developed and the setting was beautifully described. I am looking forward to the rest of this series.
I can't say enough great things about this book! Luke's kind heart has grown on me since his introduction in Claimed By The Pack. A tortured, lost wolf held captive by his family who kept him away from the rest of his family that he needed. On the verge of permanently losing the man to the beast, The was able to see enough good within himself to stay for Tamryn.
Tamryn may not be a full blooded Native American, but she still embodies their cultures loyalty to their families. Sent away by the only family she had left, she too knew what it was like to feel adrift. She already had strength but she needed love, security, and welcoming understanding. Everything she needed she could find in Luke and his Pack family. She just had to help Luke learn to live in harmony with the beast that lived inside of him so in return, he could give her the family she lost.
A definite 5 star for the emotional carnage this book tore through my heart!
I'm a major fan of this series so far... I think I just got started with the first book as a great read just to find out that the second book, this book, was better than the first! A great blend of action and romance that draws you to read each page faster than the previous page.
This was the best one of Kimber’s I’ve read so far. I completely devoured Luke and Tamryn’s story. It was suspenseful, powerful, sexy and dangerous. Both of our main characters are outsiders and don’t feel like they fit in with anybody until they meet one another. Tamryn & Luke’s connection is strong from the beginning, but their journey to make their relationship work is difficult. It has been a while since I read the first book of this series and I’d forgotten how good it is. This is only book 2... there are 5 others to go and I’m sure things are just going to get better as I read along. This is a great way to send off 2017, with my final 5 star read of the year.
Sigh. After reading Mel's story one just can not help but fall in love with Luke. A lot has happened to Asher's pack since we met them back in the Claimed by the pack series. As Luke struggles with himself and his wolf the last thing he needs is to find his mate. How can he claim her when his wolf is taking over? Would she still accept him when she finds out his darkest moment? Loved this story.
I love a well-written story, and this one was full of my necessary components. Love and romance, action, and this story additionally threw in mystery and suspense, much to my delight! I had to be patient, at times, wondering when the puzzle keeping the two main protagonists apart was going to finally be solved. Recommended!
I absolutely love this book as I have all the other books kimber has written it truly is a great book packed with everything hot strong alphas its one of the best shifter books I have read I really would recommend this to anyone well maybe not the younger adult can defo get steamy lol
While this book,so far was my least favorite, it was still good. This book had the same fight for whats right save the damsel in distress feel as the last, but the fight was more if an inner fight and a lot of inner dialogue. Still good and i am still a fan!
I enjoyed this story by Kimber White. It is the first I read, and I liked that even though I haven’t read any of the other “Wild Lake Wolves” Series, I didn’t feel lost. I would recommend this book, and plan on reading more of the series.
Luke is an interesting character and I thought Tamryn was an amazing, strong heroine. The way she took care of her Grandpa reminded me of my last trip with my Grandpa. It was bittersweet.
It is an amazing book I am loving the series. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. It read well that the storyline was good. Loved the characters and got really invested in it.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. This story is a little bit different from the other wolf tales from Kimber White. There is less action and more romance. It's a very beautiful, well written romance. As we start the story, Luke is a broken man/wolf. He is living alone in a small cottage. A lone wolf without a pack. While this story could very easily be read as a stand-alone, as a reader of the past books by this author, I couldn't help but wonder what put him in this state. That question does get answered, eventually, but meanwhile, we find him living his own unique personal agony. There is a girl. (Of course there's a girl! This is a romance – remember?) Her name is Tamryn. She lives with her grandfather, taking care of him, somewhere far up north in Michigan, near where Luke is living. Her grandfather is a Native American, an Odawa, and the head of one of the nine families that originally founded their town. This book has a number of references to the Native American culture and pride the people have in their area. It is interwoven in the story and something I enjoyed very much about this book. Tamryn has seen Luke's wolf form in the woods. He is a beautiful gray color with shining green eyes. Later, she's returning home from shopping and sees that her grandfather has wandered off. She tracks him in the snow and he's not in good shape. He runs through the woods looking for someone, anyone, to help, and finds an old cabin at the far side of the hill. She runs to it and meets this gorgeous, shirtless man with bright green eyes. It will take her a while before she realizes that he and the wolf are one and the same, but they each find themselves drawn to the other, in a way that cannot be denied. Of course, things are never that simple. When grandfather sees Luke, he calls him “wendigo”, meaning “demon”. Then there's the local sheriff, Beau, who's got it in his head that Tamryn is his. And there's the personal crisis Luke is going thru. It's not just all romance and lovey-dovey. Plus, another Alpha wolf is introduced, Bas, who will be the subject of the next book. This is an interesting, potent story with plenty of meat on the bone. I loved this book! The more I think about it, I believe it is my favorite one by Kimber White so far. It was different, with a deep probing into the minds and hearts of Luke and Tamryn, and the back-story of the events and culture of the area. It's so much more than just another shifter story. I don't think you should pass on this one. Well done!
Tamryn returned home to care for her elderly grandfather, suffering from dementia. Ten years living with different friends of her deceased parents she has not had family. Now her beloved grandfather thinks she is her mother or grandmother most of the time. Life is not easy in this winter world. The townspeople are nice enough but still not family. After finding her grandfather unconscious in the snow, she gets help from a stranger.
Luke, the hot stranger is sullen, barely speaks to her, but does help her with her grandfather. First he takes them to his small cabin to warm them up. What she hears from her grandfather is a Native America term Wendigo—she doesn't know what it is but has to remove him as the old man is so worked up.
This is the beginning of the questions. Who is Luke? What is he? Why is she drawn to him? Why do all the neighbors seem to know more about her and her past/future? There are so many questions and so few answers. The mystery of her life, her mother, father, grandmother's deaths seem so much more. Maybe coming “home” was a mistake.
Part of the mystery of Luke is answered and that he is a wolf doesn't frighten her, at least not enough to counter the hot steamy draw of the man. But can he risk being near her with his questionable control? This is the first of a series and although some questions are answered I can't wait for more answers. Luke's family is filled with interesting characters, their interaction is often fierce and yet the love and loyalty clear. Bas, is the wolf featured in book 2. If you are like me you will be anxious to read about this strong alpha who we have only seen in one part of his life, but know he has an entirely different side as well.
You will see action, love, loyalty and so much mystery in the past liaisons. Is history and tradition important. At what cost? Enjoy this story of love and mystery. It does end in a HEA but introduces those I want to read about as well. My White is a new author for me. I am anxious to read more of her work.
At the end of Mal's story in Rogue Alpha, we see that Luke finally gets to come home. He's home with his mom and back on the lands of Wild Lake that he never wanted to leave. In Dark Wolf, the reader gets to understand more of the toll being in Asher's pack has taken on Luke. And then Luke meets Tamryn.
Tamryn knows what it feels like to be an outcast. She is a fiery redhead in a town full of decendants of the Odawa tribe--and of course, none of them look like her. Tamryn, along with her mother and grandmother, were viewed as a curse on the town in which she grew up. When she loses both of her parents at the age of 10, her grandfather sends her away from Michigan, believing he is protecting her from whatever curse the whole town sees, but she refuses to believe. After she graduates high school however, she feels she has no choice but to return to Michigan to take care of her ailing grandfather. He may have sent her away, but he is the only family she has left.
After he grandfather gets caught out in the snow, she turns up at Luke's cabin begging for help. The attraction between the two is undeniable and after he helps rescue her grandpa, neither of them can seem to stay away from each other. The draw they have towards each other seems to be something out of their control, and both are afraid of what could happen if they act on their impulses. But Fate seems to have other plans.
This was another great read from Kimber White. I still think everyone should read the books in order, starting with the Claimed by the Pack series and then Rogue Alpha. We are first introduced to Luke in the first series and it helps you get a better understanding of his backstory. No matter what, you'll love this book!
**I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
Kimber has done a wonderful job with Luke's story. After reading Rogue Alpha I knew Luke had to have his own book. I knew it would be special because Luke is so special. Dark Wolf is a stand alone book but it will help if you have read all her past books that involve the Wild Lake Wolves. The characters in this book are so real. As the reader, you will feel like you know them personally. Having been raised in a small town similar to Oodena I can relate to how everyone seems to know everyone and their business. It's hard to keep a secret in a close knit community. Luke spent ten long horrible years with his half brother Archer. To make things worse Archer was also his alpha. The wounds and heartache that Luke carry from the abuse his pack suffered because of Asher runs deep. Tamryn has lived the last ten years of her life being passed around between friends for her dead father. Now she had returned to Oodena to care for her aged and sick grandfather. She doesn't know what happened to her family just that they died when she was 8 years old. She was told it was a car accident. Luke and Tamryn find each other and their story is unfolded in Dark Wolf. It is simply one of Kimber's best stories yet. It's full of heartache, anger, passion, lust, betrayals, fighting, loss, hurt and love. You won't want to put it down... I received an ARC for my honest review. I can't wait to read Bas' story next. I love the Wild Lake Wolves.

I loved this book. The storyline was captivating and exciting. The characters, were warm and sweet and amazing. It was a nice, lighthearted read with a touch of spice. However I did feel at times parts were rushed but otherwise overall it was a very enjoyable read!
This is Luke story after the defeat of his half-brother Asher. He has separated himself from his original pack because he believes his is not in control of his wolf due to the abuse suffered under Asher's rule.
Tamryn lost her parents when she was eight years of age and had to go live with her grandfather one of the Original Nine to settle Oodena. It was soon thereafter that her life would be changed for the next ten years as she was sent away to live with strangers. The one thing that stayed true during her time away was that she felt she never belonged anywhere until she came back to Oodena to care for her grandfather.
Two people drawn together but could be torn apart do to the lies and secrets being kept in this town. Will she be able to forgive those that withheld her history? Will the town's secrets cause her to lose her life or the love destined for her?
Luke will need to make some hard choices if he is to ever be whole again? Will his mate accept him once she finds out what he has been hiding from her? The Wild Lake Wolves Series has been one continuous great read after another looking forwards to more books about these wolves.
