My name is Faith Keystone, but my friends call me Keys. I’m the piano player for Hammered. Did I mention I'm the only female in my band? That means I technically have five older brothers.  Can't forget my manager and security team, too. Alone time is nonexistent. I escaped an overbearing family to join this happy circus, and most of the time it's awesome. Except now, because of one teensy little incident at a show. Now I have this hulking bodyguard shadowing me like a freaking puppy. Only this puppy is more like a Doberman with an attitude problem. And he only knows one word NO. I hate that word. And I hate Quinn Alexander. The one thing I do like is giving him the slip. Is it wrong that I kinda like when he growls at me after he finds me? Because he always finds me.   Worst of all? I want him so bad that I keep forgetting I hate him.

Once again these two authors delivered a highly entertaining read that will keep at the edge of your seat with its awesomeness. 'Manhandled' is the second installment in "Hammered" series and it can be read as a standalone. This second book in the series was even better than the first, at least in my opinion. It was sexy and engaging with just a little bit of angst and suspense; just exactly what I was looking for.

“She was a natural entertainer with a gift of being fun and quippy and a laughter that drew people to her like a siren song.”

Faith Keystone, known as ‘Keys’ is the piano player for Hammered. She loves her band, her music and also her fans. She loves interacting with them and she loves the attention, until a crazy fan threatens her safety. Faith’s band and also her parents will do anything to make sure Faith is safe, so they insist for her to have a personal bodyguard. The one who seems perfect for the position is Quinn Alexander.

“Why did it have to be this contrary man with all his rules that got me so wound up?”

Quinn, a former Ranger, now bodyguard loves order and to keep order. He hates to deal with celebrities, especially celebrities like Faith, sassy who seems to be nothing but trouble. Unfortunately for him he owes his best friend a favor, so for the upcoming weeks or months he has to guard the beautiful piano player. Faith is not very happy she now has “a warden”, especially since for the next two weeks she will be a prisoner in her own house.

While they piss each other off constantly neither of them can’t deny the strong attraction between them that seems to grow with each and every day.

“I couldn't deny him.
I couldn't do anything but hold on and roll my hips in time with his deep strokes.
He hollowed me out and owned every part of me.“

description

This one turned out to be more engaging than I expected. The story was well paced, the plot was pretty great and the two main characters appealing and well portrayed. I really enjoyed Faith’s character. She was very easy to like. She’s talented, feisty, loves to smile and she’s a talented musician. Quinn was Faith’s opposite in every way, but as the story unfolds, like me, you will remark how perfect he is for our heroine. Quinn took his job very seriously from the beginning, which I liked it and appreciate it. He was grumpy most of the time, well...at least at the beginning, but his grumpiness was endearing in some way. Faith and Quinn’s easy banter was delightful and I have to say I really enjoyed the slow burn romance between them. They were sexy together and overall I liked them as a couple.

I wouldn’t have minded the suspense aspect to be more developed. The story would have been for sure more interesting. I think those who are looking for a rock star romance will like this second book in the series since there are many well described music scenes which I quite enjoyed.

If you are looking for a sexy read, low in angst and drama, with great main and supporting characters look no further! Looking forward to read the next installment in the series!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to read this book so such a long time and now that I've fnally done it I can say it did not disappoint. Ever since I've read the first book, I knew Keys aka. Faith is going to be a kick-ass character and super cool and I was right. She's in love with music and also in love with her band. They are all like a big family that care for each other. As we all know fame has it's downsides and this time an obsessed fan wants to become Faith and let's just say that this obsession is way more than harmless. Thus that we met Quinn, Faith's new bodyguard and a complete control freak. While she's being a free spirit that need lots of freadom for her creativity, Quinn is...well...he's Quinn. Alpha to the max, supper serious in his job and did I mention a control freak? Yeah, he does has his cute and sexy moments but those two clash a freaking lot!!! And in a way that makes their chemistry so amazing and fresh. You just never know what's going to happen next. I loved the plot twists and the ending. I can't say I saw it coming the way it did but I'm still really happy about their HEA. They sure deserve it. I wonder what the deal with Bats is. I mean, he better have a real good reason for acting the way he is and with that person, too! If they ever end up together, that would definitely be a no-go for me. Just can't stand 'her'.
All in all, the story is fun with lots of romance and even some action and fans of the first book will absolutely love it. I know I did. :)

RATING: 4 Sexy Warden Heart!! :)

Manhandled is yet another fun and sexy addition to this series. Keys was such a funny heroine, and I loved the banter between her and Quinn. The romance was equal parts sweet and sexy; just how I like them. Definitely can't wait for Owen's story next! He's Irish...Nuff said. ;P

Fave Quotes:

"You're all of the awesome. My very own bodacious badass bodyguard."
"Appreciate the alliteration."
I crossed my arms and cocked my hip. "Makes my girl parts tingle when you throw around big words."

I was Faith. His Faith.
Faith Mine.
That's what he called me in the middle of the night with his face buried in my neck.

He was mine, and I was his.
End of story.

He snatched the sunglasses off my face, then frowned. "How high are you?"
I laughed. "Those are hearts in my eyes, buddy. You're ruining my buzz."

"I'm not your job anymore."
"No, you're my life." He pressed his forehead to mine, then his lips. "My whole life."

Fuck. My life had become the second circle of hell. Lust sitting on my shoulders with no outlet. Rule one- don't fuck the client.

I have a confession to make, the second I saw Alex was the visual inspiration on the authors' pinterest board for Quinn, I knew I had to get my pervy little hands on this book. What? Don't look at me like that! Have you seen the man? Exactly. Add into that the fact that I love everything these two brilliant authors write, and I have the recipe for a guaranteed winner. And boy was it!

For those that enjoyed Manaconda, this book is a must read! And even if you haven't read that book yet, you can easily enjoy this one as a standalone. Where Manaconda was a bit on the fluffy side with some great humor and a dose of insta, Manhandled is nothing of the sort. It's a slow burn, and I'm talking it-hurt-so-good-but-my-ovaries-may-explode-if-they-don't-do-it-soon sort of slow. I absolutely loved it! There's a healthy dose of angst and all of it wrapped around a great suspense sub plot that together adds up to one entertaining read.
Damn you, Warden."
Duty. Loyalty. None of those were synonymous with fuck the client until she was unconscious.

Faith Keystone or "Keys" is the sassy piano player for Hammered. She's fun loving, smart-mouthed, and everyone's best friend. I loved her straight off the bat because how can you not? When a crazy fan becomes a whole lot more threatening than anyone ever thought and threatens Faith's safety, her parents and the band insist that she needs additional protection and no one but the best will do. The best just happens to be in the sexy and brooding shape of Noah's best friend and former Ranger turned body guard, Quinn Alexander.

Can we just say that name out loud once more? Quinn. Alexander. *rarrrr*

What happens when you take a stringent, growly, broody and all business bodyguard and throw him in with a sassy, never take no for an answer rockstar? A whole lot of sexiness!
I couldn't deny him.
I couldn't do anything but hold on and roll my hips in time with his deep strokes.
He hollowed me out and owned every part of me.

This was a slow burn sort of romance, which I loved, and when these two finally do get together? Holy mother of fireworks!
It was so easy to fall into that blackness of pleasure and let my body just ride his storm.
I wanted to be his storm.
I wanted to watch him go blind. Because of this. Because of us.

A fun, at times suspenseful, a little angsty, and a whole lot of sexy kind of read that's sure to put a smile on any rockstar romance lovers face. If you haven't discovered these authors yet, it's about time you get acquainted. I highly recommend ;)

Keyboardist for rock band Hammered, Faith 'Keys' Keystone was in need of a bodyguard and Quinn Alexander is providing that for her. Of course things get heated between them and so on and so forth...

Wonderful story! Though I didn't read the first book I wasn't too confused reading this one. It could be read as a standalone, but after reading this story, I really wanna go back and read about Hunter and Kennedy (or Kenny) and hopefully after I read the first two book - Manaconda (book 1) and Manaconda The Second Coming (book 1.5) - by then Manipulated (book 3) will be out with Owen's story.

I love that the story took a while as the two MCs got to know each other. They are total opposites where Quinn loves order and Keys loves her fans and living life. I was worried that at first the characters weren't going to have a good HEA because they were too different, but slowly I think we see a little give in each other, or if not, then a little understanding of what the other needs. So eventually Keys gives in to all the rules that her 'warden' barks out and once in a while Quinn lets her go out and watch concerts and be with her fans.

I just realized that this is the first book I've read of either Taryn Elliott or Cari Quinn!!! Particularly Cari Quinn as I've seen her name around quite a bit. I'm going to have to remedy that and read more of their books especially the books they both collaborate on.

***4,5 “Are you craving cookies?” stars***

"Manhandled" was even better than "Manaconda"!!!
Don't get me wrong.... I liked the previous book very much, but this one captivated me...
You already know my obsession with rockstars, so i couldn't not love this book...
The only difference in here was that our rockstar was a woman and i freakin' loved her...

"Hammered"'s keyboardist was Faith "Keys" Keystone... and she was so adorable!!!
This time was her turn to find love in an unbelievable position...
And Quinn Alexander was so yummy!!! Serious, controlling, broody, masculine!!!!

Hmmm.... Can i say more??? Yes, i can!!!

Well, this time Faith was in a difficult position since she was been attacked by an obsessed fan...
Just in time, Hunter's brother, Noah, manage to save her from her kidnapper...
Keys was always sweet, adorable, accepting with the fans...
She loved to be connected with all those people that showing love to their music...

So, she can't accept that someone out there wants her bad and she also can not accept that for now on, she had to have 24/7 a bodyguard by her side and that she had to follow too many rules...
She is a free spirit that likes to react impulsive and all those restrictions are killing her!!!

"Safe. Not on display. I’d never really worried about it before. I’d spent most of my adult life in the spotlight—it had always been my normal. But it felt different now. Shadows felt darker, and the lights felt intrusive. I was able to ignore most of it on stage, but now that she might be at every show, I wasn’t sure how I was going to do this."

Quinn Alexander used to be a Ranger, but the last years, he is protecting people...
He doesn't like to be on the spotlights, so he rarely accepts to work for famous people...
But this time, he had to because of his best friend, Noah!!!
He doesn't want to do it since he is almost sure that he will regret it...

And he is so right!!! Faith Keystones is nothing like he was expecting and day by day, he is drown to her...
But she is a client and he had to keep his d**k inside his pants, for God's sake!!!

"I’d had this whole chemistry thing under control until I’d gotten her wet. Fuck. My life had become the second circle of hell. Lust sitting on my shoulders with no outlet.
Rule one—don’t fuck the client."

As you can understand, the atmosphere inside Keys's house is risind dangerously...

The air is heavy and full of sexual tension, that could not be ignored, especially from Faith's part....
Quinn is trying to resist, but it is impossible...
Her presence and her scent are distracting him beyond repair...

"Fear and rage had been too close to the surface.
I didn’t want to want her.
I didn’t want to give her any ideas about us.
There couldn’t be an us."

So, what will happen???
Will Quinn resist to Faith's temptation??? And if he is not, will that affect his skills???

Will Faith back out and stay focused to her music or will she give herself to Quinn???
And with what cost???

“This thing between us? It’s going to be here whether you try and deny it or not. I don’t want to pretend I don’t want you.” She brushed her cheek against my dark scruff. “I’ve never felt like this before.”

Well, i loved Faith and Quinn so much...
Faith as i told you above was a free spirit...
She adored her music and her mind was like a jukebox...

She was so bound with all her bandmates and that's something that i'm loving in this book...
How connected those guys are between them!!!
Faith was reckless and she wasn't good at all with following rules and that's why she was so freakin' adorable...

All the people around her couldn't not to love her... She was such a charismatic creature!!!
Quinn Alexander was a real pain in her ass, but she couldn't not lust over this guy!!!
He was so masculine, so protective and so irritated that it was impossible to not fall for him...

"When he got like this my system went haywire.
He was definitely one of the most intense and dominant men I’d ever been with.
Okay, he was the most intense.
No one was like Quinn."

Quinn was used to different kind of life...
He liked his peace of mind, his healthy meals, his practice and the quiet....

But Faith was exactly the opposite from him... and she was driving him nuts!!!
Except from that, his line of work needed to be built by rules, but Faith was making it really hard to follow them...
And that damn scent of hers was messing with his mind and a certain part of his body...
But for him to stay focused to his job, he had to keep his distance from her, but this damn stubborn woman was making it really hard to stay away...

I liked Quinn when he was serious and focused, but when he was letting himself loose and was becoming more playful, he was freakin' cute!!!!

"I was so very fucked.
I knew I was too close to her, but I couldn’t find the distance I needed.
I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to find it.
That scared me most of all."

The scenes between Faith and Quinn was so hot, even when they weren't doing anything...

There was a huge chemistry between them and the difference between them was making the things even more interesting...
I loved this couple so much and i over enjoyed their story!!!

"I wasn't ready to believe, but I was now.
He was mine, and I was his.
End of story."

And now, i can't wait for the next story which will be about Owen...

Hell, yeah, i loved this guy, but damn, from the first book, i'm dying to see what the hell is going on with Bats!!!!
And his turn is never coming....

Girls, are you trying to killing me from the agony????

2 Give Me Real Indie Rock stars

I was very eager to read this sequel. Manaconda left me all smiley, in a hearts-and-puppies kind of way, which really is not my usual state. This book being about the only female member of Hammered, I had VERY high expectations, even if I knew this serie is erotic romcom pure and simple. Well, something's seriouly amiss in this, at least for me.

Even though I had a few disbelief moments with Hunter and Kennedy in the previous book, regarding their profession, I believed in them as characters, their thoughts and emotions pulsed realistically enough. Faith and Quinn here, instead, never broke though the pages. There was just nothing real and alive. They felt stiff, trying too hard to be someone. The writing felt a bit different too, somehow less fluid, I can't pinpoint it. I've been around musicians for many many years and I'm sure a lof of other people have friends in bands, big or small. One of the reasons I mostly try to avoid books about musicians is because I can't stomach the clichés and generic BS sold in most stories, so you gotta hook me on the romantic side to convince me. Manhandled failed on both counts, badly.

Starting from the cover: the main lead is a woman, yet I got the usal bare hunk torso. WHY? Faith, Keys for the fans, came off in the previous book as a talented, quirky, fashionable, fans-oriented musicians, with some serious family problems she escaped through music. When these alleged family problems were unveiled in this book, I palmed my face...not another rich girl who feels not accepted and misunderstood by doting but conservative parents and thinks that rebelling means changing your looks and hair-colour every day! That was it, folks. Most of all, she failed me as a musician. The authors tried very hard to convey that she was all music, a jukebox always on in her head, the need to absorb new music to get inspired, the regular runs to seedy places for special gigs or just to learn...I'm sorry, none of it was believable to me. It rang flat and empty, I didn't feel her. And of course she was a people person, charming everyone at first encounter, at least a couple of guys ready to claim her as soon as she'd show any interest. The most convincing scenes with her were at the beginning of the book, during Hunter and Kenny's wedding, when her feelings of loneliness and her desire to belong come running to the surface.

Quinn, her bodyguard after an attempted kidnapping episode, has an even more limited emotional range. They are thrown together via this superthin thriller thread, which is basically the whole plot and which is also a big hole in the water. Something big only happens at the beginning and at the end of the book. Neither super security-expert Quinn nor his team manage to solve anything. Quinn is freaking out about every place and situation, all the time, barking restrictions on everything. How am I supposed to believe he's this super guard like this? He has a big guilt-chip on his shoulder and that's what makes him even more obsessed with keeping her safe. Of course, he's her opposite in character, but I couldn't tell who exactly he was as a person. I still did not really believe what pulled them together either.

Did I want them together? Of course I did. Enemy-to-lovers/opposites attract is a trope I really enjoy when done well, and I'm all for bone-jarring sex and almost forced-orgasms, but the sexual scenes were at times confusing, no matter how descriptive they were I often could not really picture their positions, and they had the weirdest dialogue during their first sexual encounter. WHAT THE HECK? Way to pull me out of a scene. Their dynamics felt stunted to me. I had an old version of the book, which ended with a damn cliffie, luckily for me I found the epilogue on line so at least I am sure there's a HEA with engagement and all.

So no, this did not work for me. The plot was weak and slow, the characters lacked authenticity and anything interesting. I am so fond of the firs book I might still check the next episode of the serie, even if I don't really care about the male lead, to see if it gives me back a sunshine feeling.

Rock on with this exciting and sultry story about a fabulous rock chick and her broodylicious bodyguard.

Faith Keystone known as Keys to most everyone, loves music, loves to interact with fans and be around people especially her happy band of rocker guys who she’s been playing the piano with for the past decade. But after a breach in security threatens her safety her overprotective family and her caring band mates insist that she have a bodyguard. She loathes all his rules, resents having to stay cooped up inside, and definitely hates his searingly watchful gaze. Or does she?
“Why did it have to be this contrary man with all his rules that got me so wound up?”

Quinn Alexander is a man of structure and order, peace and quiet. If it weren’t for the fact that he owes his best friend a favor he would never consider safeguarding an artist, much less a sassy, quirky one who distracts him with much more than sexy curves and makes his body and soul come alive. How many times will she give him the slip before he captures her heart forever?
“Her smile was huge and her laughter rang through the room… She practically shone like a beacon. It was fascinating and horrifying from a job standpoint.”
___________________________
“She was a natural entertainer with a gift of being fun and quippy and a laughter that drew people to her like a siren song. I know I was already in danger of crashing into the rocks for her.”

Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott make a wonderful rock romance writing team. Once again I’ve been captivated by incredibly vivid scenes that make feel like I’m front and center at the best rock concert ever, by amazingly charming characters and a great plot.
“Lust and the driving need to protect her coalesced into a dangerous need to possess every molecule of passion I watched unfold on that stage… I’d been able to mostly resist her. Until now.”

What’s more awesome than a rock god? A sexy rock goddess and Faith fits the bill to a tee. She’s more than talented on the keyboard, she’s energetic, down to earth, sweet and the perfect match for the surly, taciturn ex-military man who’s determined to keep her safe.

Besides all the smiles I got from Quinn and Faith’s banter which toed the frenemy line while he battled with his sense of duty and emotions, the blushes that resulted in their slow heady build up, I also very much enjoyed all the time spent with the supporting characters. I liked being able to follow the happy couple from the previous book. If you liked their story you’ll love reading about them here. I enjoyed getting to know Faith’s band mates and almost brothers a bit more and all the fun and drama they add to the mix. Whoever is next, I know I’ll enjoy it.
“I was happily surrounded by my band, with Bats and Zach in a saggy loveseat across from me and Hunter. Owen was curled over his acoustic, strumming softly. And Wyatt was in a lotus pose on his pre-concert stretch mat. All of the perfection that I could stand.”

Manhandled is book #2 in the Hammered series by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. It’s a delicious slow burn, entertaining read. It’s told from alternating points of view with a happy ending.

Man, is there anything hotter than a book about a sexy bodyguard and a badass rocker chick?? Yeah, I didn't think so. This story was scorching hot! I mean Quinn ( the big bad bodyguard ) alone nearly melted my kindle into a puddle. Faith "keys" keystone , our beautiful and fun loving rock chick is just awesome. She has everyone wrapped around her finger, and she doesn't even know it. That's how modest she is, she loves everyone with everything she has and doesn't ask for anything in return.

Quinn has his demons to battle and he hates "babysitting" famous people. The drama is simply not worth it to him. He is the quite, dark sexy, brooding type. There's something about Key's that he just can't put his finger on. He wants her, but he hates that he does. He is so use to just being alone and dealing with low key security assignment, that when he meets the fiery little keyboardist he knows he is in trouble. keys is not use to being locked up and kept indoors, and after a few days she is dealing with a bad case of cabin fever.

Watching Quinn and keys find their own rhythm and deal with their growing sexual tension was the biggest tease ever!! I was panting and begging then to just do it already!! And sweet baby Jesus, when they finally did get it on....
* fans self* HOT!! I mean 5 alarm fire!!! I was chugging ice water just to feel some sort of relief. Quinn's a man if little words but when he talks.... It's the dirtiest mouth ever!

I really love this series. I think I enjoyed Quinn and keys story just a little bit more then manaconda, and I loved book one!! There was just something so captivating about Quinn and Keys, it made it hard to put down. I recommend this book to anyone who's ever needed a little extra security in the form of a tall, dark, and drop dead sexy bodyguard.

When this couple first starts working together because of a stalker, they don't really like one another, but there is a strong attraction there that cannot be denied for long. The chemistry between these two jumps off the page and starts the pages on fire with the sex scenes. Some of the heroine's actions kind of irritated me, but she was a strong female lead. The hero was an alpha male who fought their attraction, but when he fell, he fell hard. They figure it out, making some compromises to be together, and get their HEA. This story had longing, danger, a fatal attraction, and lots of music, all in addition to the love story. This is a darker read compared to the first book in this series, but it was still a good read. This story kept me engrossed the entire time reading it. I rarely put it down.
I cannot wait to read Owen's story next in this series!

Thanks to Netgalley and Rainbow Rage Publishing for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked the premise: a female rock star and her bodyguard sounded really exciting.
I did enjoy the book a lot but unfortunately the chemistry between Faith and Quinn wasn't as overwhelming as I was hoping it to be. There were some really nice moments between them but the overall chemistry couldn't reach me, unfortunately.

I also enjoyed the suspense part but I would have liked it to play a bigger role in the story. Especially at the end it was too rushed and closed too fast.

It was great to hear back from Hunter and Kennedy too and of course the other band members. I am looking forward to Owen's story now.

Handful rockstar and her stern bodyguard?

I said it before and I'll say it again:

This series is so fucking fluffy and it's doing my brain and heart so much fucking good.

Keys and Quinn were disgustingly adorable; a little more slow burn than Hunter and Kennedy but totally worth the wait.
And it's a total The Bodyguard ripoff but uh, do I care?
The fuck I do.
Classic romance storytelling remains classic, even when it's rewritten by somebody else.

My name is Faith Keystone, but my friends call me Keys.
I’m the piano player for Hammered.
Did I mention I'm the only female in my band?
That means I technically have five older brothers.
Can't forget my manager and security team, too.
Alone time is nonexistent.
I escaped an overbearing family to join this happy circus, and most of the time it's awesome.Except now, because of one teensy little incident at a show.
Now I have this hulking bodyguard shadowing me like a freaking puppy.
Only this puppy is more like a Doberman with an attitude problem.
And he only knows one word—NO.
I hate that word.
And I hate Quinn Alexander.

The one thing I do like is giving him the slip. Is it wrong that I kinda like when he growls at me after he finds me?
Because he always finds me.

Worst of all? I want him so bad that I keep forgetting I hate him.

The Delight

Keys is an interesting part of the group, Hammered. She plays the keyboard, hence the name, but also plays the sister to the rest of her bad mates. So when Hunter and Kennedy tie the knot in the hotel where they met, of course the band is going to play a few tunes....that is until a fan makes an attempt to kidnap and drug her. Now the band is shoring up their defenses. While they a security guy, he is just one bodyguard. Time to bring in the big guns.

Quinn has just come to the end of a job protecting an ambassador and his family when a friend calls in a favor. Oh, he wants to say know. Who wants to babysit a spoiled rockstar. Boy was he wrong about that, but he isn't wrong that everything in her life has become a threat. Now Quinn must shore up the defenses of Keys life, while also keeping a locked gate on his heart.

These two butt heads from the start and I found myself trying hard to like Quinn. It was that he was doing everything to protect Keys, but that he wasn't very personable. He had some reasons, but really he should have just become a hermit. The house is unprotected in many ways, so he shores it up, taking away some of Keys freedoms that puts a damper on her spirit.

Keys also comes from a wealthy family. While she can't relate with them, they do love her and her them. She just needs the band because it is what she feels comfortable and in tune. Does she try to get away? Yep, she does it and reaps the wrath of Quinn. Keys is such a free spirit of kindness while Quinn is stodgy and unfriendly. The Yin and Yang I guess.

When they do meet in sexual ways, they give it their all and leave regrets for later. They scotch up the sheets and create another hazard for Quinn to look out for. While these two are compatible in bed, I didn't feel quite the same connection outside of it. Yes, they do fall in love, but I see so many other problems for them along the way.

While I love everything these two women write, this has to be my least favorite book. With 4 stars though, it isn't bad and I would say read it. It works as a standalone and even with some of my dismay, these two rocked the Kindle out of my hands.

I love Taryn Elliott's and Cari Quinn's writing style. It's lighthearted, sexy and entertaining. What we have here is a sexed up version of the 90s movie Bodyguard. And I mean that in the best possible way.

Quinn loves order. When his best friend Noah talks him into security detail for a member of his brother's band Quinn is close to refusing. Bands are trouble. Famous bands even more so. Too bad he can't say no as he owes Noah big time. When he finally meets Keys/Faith he KNOWS that she will upset is life.

Keys is chaos. She loves everything Quinn doesn't. At her band's front man Hunter's wedding to Kennedy she is being drugged and almost kidnapped by a stalker. Hunter's brother Noah is a badass extraordinaire and would love to take the bodyguard job for Keys - he has a soft spot for her after all. Alas, he has already committed to another position so the next best guy is his best friend Quinn.

Quinn gives Keys a set of rules and soon he learns that his charge doesn't care much for them.

There are twenty-four rules on his list. I have to schedule a shit, for God's sake.

As time passes without another incident their attraction grows and Quinn fights it with everything he has. He knows he has to keep his distance and objectivity, otherwise he won't be any good in case the stalker strikes again.

"So you can't come in here, because I need those boundaries to keep you safe"

Once he gives in though, he goes all in and hell, that's beautiful and hot. Together they burn up the sheets!

I fell in love with Keys and Quinn right from the beginning. Keys is a lighthearted, beautiful firecracker with an easy smile. Quinn a serious guy who shines once he gets his snark on and loosens up a bit. I can't blame him for being a bit reserved though, he does have a serious job and a fuck-up in his line of work usually equals dead people. Keys upsets everything he believes in.

The story itself is a slower and sweeter burn than its predecessor Manaconda. It's still a fast-paced story with great banter and lovable side characters. The words flow effortlessly. One scene that has stuck with me in particular is when we see Hunter's wedding through Keys' eyes. The description is lyrical and sweet and the way our heroine is moved by the emotions is gorgeous.

If you love low-angst yet captivating stories with snarky characters I can highly recommend these two authors. They never fail to light up my day. The next in the series will be Owen and he has made me really curious about him. I think I will love him just as much!

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Wow...quite simply I was blown away by Manhandled by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott and as much as I loved the first book in this series, Manaconda, this book was even better. There was something special about this couple's connection from the start despite it being all business and every time they were in the same room I got goose bumps on my arms, that my friends is a good indication that the writing is superb and this couple is going to blow the roof off when they finally give in to all that chemistry. Fast paced, exciting, memorable and sexy all describe this most delicious story.

Being the only woman in a bad full of a lot of men Faith "Keys" Keystone is use to a lot of teasing and a lot of crazy fans but when one of her fans steps over the line putting her in the hospital Faith ends up with her own body guard because her well off parents and the record label aren't screwing with her safety. Enter Quinn "Warden" Alexander the man who would end up changing her world in so many ways.

I loved the contrast between these two with Keys always being a free spirit and Quinn being a very by the rules, black and white type of personality. You could feel Faith's frustration with not only being unable to remember anything from the event that caused her hospitalization, but her lack of freedom of being able to roam and get out and be around music and musicians. Quinn's distress was also noticeable especially as his feelings towards Faith increased and neither he nor the team we worked with was unable to trace the whack job stalking Faith.

When these two finally collided in a sexual way, it was off the charts, show stopping hot. Seriously, pass me a cigarette and dump me in an ice bath. But, what I loved is that even though Quinn knew he shouldn't get involved with a subject he could not stay away and refused to cheapen what they had together.

The fact that the big issue in this book came from an outside source and that these two got to have fun and be happy for the most part is what made me love this book. There really wasn't any undue angst or any big, drawn out conflict it was simply two people meeting, sharing their lives and falling fast and furious for one another and I loved every damn minute of this story.

While I have loved most everything Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott have ever written, I am beyond thrilled with Manhandled and that it is a complete story with a fantastic ending. I will also say the more time I spend with the band Hammered, the more intrigued I am by the rest of the members and I can't wait to see the journey they take to find their special someone.

After reading some emotional very draining books I felt it was a perfect time to start with Manhandled (Hammered #2) by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott. It was my first book by those two authors and I was surprised how much I liked it.

So far I had only read one book by Cari Quinn and that was a 1 Star read – If you follow my reviews, you know that I do not give them that often. It is the second book in that series but works perfectly fine as a standalone. It is well written and the characters were fully developed.

In the beginning of the book I was a little confused because there is a lot of information about the band members raining down on the reader which felt a little to much for me. I felt that could have been handled a little more subtle during the storytelling. But once the story started flowing it went really well and at a good pace.

I liked the banter between the two leads Faith/Keys and Quinn/Warden… there was a quite the chemistry flowing and their witty dialogues had me laughing at times. But their developing relationship lacked on the emotional side for me. I read that they were developing feelings for each other – but I could not follow that development.

That maybe so (as I said) because I read two very emotionally draining books before this one, but I do not think so honestly. Their chemistry was there, that is for sure, it was just that for me the final spark to ignite it was not there which became obvious when I noticed how long their relationship took to develop and then how fast it went of in the end.

But that is only my very personal feeling and should not stop anyone from reading this really great story. To me it proved that even if I totally did not like one book – I can still love another by the same author and isn’t that what makes reading interesting ?

Review for MANHANDLED
Wow…just wow!! Cari and Taryn have rocked another book. This time around we have Quinn and Keys and the two of them are pure magic. Sometimes crazy magic but still pure entertainment. Keys is in real danger from a stalker that she refuses to take seriously. When she ends up in the hospital from this crazed fan trying to drug and kidnap her, she is made to think this might really be serious. With no memory of the attack, she is scared but not quite ready to take the advice of her bodyguard and friends…which is to just follow the rules and stay safe. What happens between these two is evident from the beginning. Lines are crossed, hearts become involved and secrets are revealed. Are these two ready for the next step? Has Quinn’s judgement become clouded? Will Keys EVER start following the rules or will she still stubbornly keep defying him and put herself in danger ??

The Hammered series is the hot new thing. Keys (Faith) and Quinn's story was impossibly awesome and possibly even better than Hunter and Kennedy. I love the whole Hammered crew - and every time I crack open another book in the series, I fall a little more in love.

Quinn is hotness personified. Bodyguard? Check. Totally dominant? Check. Sense of humor? Double check. Watching him and Faith fall more in love with one another was beyond great.

Pairing romance with the band life is the perfect story. Add in a crazy stalker and things get just crazy.

Yet another masterpiece from this dynamic due. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott sure can write up a romance, and I already cannot wait for the next one.

i don't remember well the first book (just that i didn't liked it). this one was much better i guess but a huge something was missing. it could've been great but i didn't felt it. the bulding was slow with some wtf moments and sometimes it was dragguing. the banter was cool but sometimes confusing. i'm not sure if i'm pursuing the next on this serie, it feels like a waste of time.

Did I miss something? Was the novel cut short, did I get a bad copy, is that how it ended? It said it was a standalone. What kind of friggin ending was that? I'm so confused!

Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott have yet to deliver a rockstar love that didn't like. I knew Keys was going to be a lively character from when I briefly met her in Hunter's story, Manaconda. Manhandled turned out to be everything I could have wanted.

Keys or Faith Keystone, is the only female in the band. She's the Hammered keyboardist and practically a little sister to each of them. Her bubbly persona and free-spirit attitude is like a ray of sunshine to the band but when Quinn Alexander comes into the picture all those things that make her so wonderful are also a nightmare and pain in the ass for a man in his line of work.

With Hammered's rise in fame their popularity grows and with a fan base that is filled with all kinds of people. So when things get a bit hairy, they call in the cavalry to keep watch on Keys and keep her safe. And you'll see that these two together is like trying to mix oil and water. At first impression, they don't go together. Music is her passion and she loves to explore for ideas and just to relish I all things melodic. Quinn is straight laced, no nonsense, "let's keep it quiet," from head to toe. But he soon learns it's not easy to cage a bird that's used to soaring. And with that grows the tension between them both. Sexual frustration as well as sexual tension are on a rise with these two and when they finally give in....it's practically explosive.

Keys and Quinn had amazing chemistry and Keys witty banter kept me nearly in stitches. I just adored her. She was total kickass rocker chic and he was a straight up, stiff suit but her personality was so strong and infectious...he was no match for her. I just loved their story.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
“I like order.” I smiled for the first time since he’d arrived. “Oh, honey…you’re going to hate me.”

“You’re gonna be okay, kiddo. I know Quinn seems a bit…intense.”
I pulled back. “Intense? There are twenty-four rules on his list. I have to schedule a shit, for God’s sake.”

Christ, she made me want.

That smile was the reason why I’d make sure nothing ever happened to her. Even if I went crazy in the process.

“Five minutes more and I’d have been kissing you somewhere else, Faith.”
She dropped back down onto her heels. “Oh.”
“Yeah. I don’t play games. I don’t have a sweet side. You’d have gotten f*cked.”

The groan wrenched out of him as I squeezed around him. As I watched him come for me.
So beautifully savage.
So much mine.

Faith "Keys" Keystone is the keyboardist in the band Hammered and the only girl in the band. They have increased their security since becoming more mainstream but when one fan is able to get too close to Faith and she winds up in the hospital they add a new security person - Quinn Alexander.

Quinn Alexander likes control but as a favor to Noah Jordan, the brother of Hunter who is the lead singer of Hammered. When Quinn discovers how lightly Faith has taken her security he knows he has his work cut out for him.

But as much as Faith and Quinn hate each other they are also extremely attracted to the other and this may put her security at risk once again as the begin to play a dangerous game.

This was such a great story and I loved learning more about both Faith and Quinn.

I liked how innocent and naive Faith was with regards to her fans. She truly didn't understand why someone would be after her or even copy her style. She has no idea about the packages she is being sent and doesn't think anything devious of them. I love when she tries to get under Quinn's skin and do what she can to get her way with him.

Quinn blames himself for the death of Lissa but it is unknown how she is related to him. He hates that the Rockstar life is so vague and that there are so many places that deranged fans could get in. He is so attracted to Faith but doesn't want his feelings for her to jeopardize keeping her safe.

The attraction between the two was awesome and I love how everything came together.

The end was definitely explosive and I loved how everything went except I totally wasn't expecting what happened to Quinn.

Can't wait for more in this series!!

4 Stars!

Do you love a good rock star romance? I do. I especially liked this one because the heroine is the rock star and the hero is her reluctant bodyguard.

I didn't really connect with the first book in this series, but the writing is good and I have enjoyed books from both authors in this writing team, so when I saw this book and read the blurb, I was intrigued. I am so glad I read it! Keys and Quinn rock (pun intended)!

Faith "Keys" Keystone is the bright, bubbly, awesome keyboardist for the rock band Hammered. When her life is threatened, good friend, Noah, hires his best friend, Quinn, to come on as Keys' bodyguard. Quinn and Keys are opposites. She is free and flighty and fun. Quinn is buttoned up, a rule follower and assesses every situation with eagle eyes. She calls him Warden. He calls her Faith. Their attraction isn't instant, but the longer they spend together, the more the sexual tension ramps up.

The writing is great. It flows easily, there is good character development and there isn't a lot of excess. The romance betwen Quinn and Faith builds and builds, the tension and tiny bit of angst perfectly adds to the intensity between them. There is a slight undercurrent of danger making this a bit of a page turner. The authors didn't solve the mystery too quickly, instead letting the relationship build solidly as both a plot driver and as the basis for the book. I really loved the end, the HEA.

I enjoyed this a lot and look forward to reading more in this series and from these authors.

Manhandled: A Rockstar Romantic Comedy – Hammered Book 2 by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott

While Manhandled is Book 2 in the Hammered Series it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. I have enjoyed everything I’ve read by these authors and one of the things I like is that I’m always introduced to new music. While they may write about fictional bands, they are always introducing me to real bands in their stories. In Manhandled I have been introduced to Frank Turner. Super cool music. Thanks ladies.

Faith “Keys” Keystone is the piano player in the rock band called Hammered. Hammered is one of those bands that are family of choice and look out for each other so fiercely that for Faith the band and their extended band family, are all like brothers to her.

Quinn “Warden” Alexander is a big, bad, buff, alpha security guard who has been hired to watch over Keys. He is a health nut, likes the quiet, and is extremely scheduled and regimented. Keys and Warden are complete opposites which makes their interactions funny and sexy all at the same time. They have an undeniable chemistry from the very beginning. Warden is serious about his job and won’t cross lines.

Intertwined with the fun times is a bit of a mystery about an overzealous fan. The suspense gives this romantic comedy a dramatic twist. My attention was held from the first page to the last.

This is a great series to read and it’s always nice to revisit the Oblivion family in these books.

This book was sent to me for an honest review. I had this book on my wishlist to read but for some reason it didn't quite appeal to me to read right away. Now, after having finally read it, I wished that I hadn't waited so long. I absolutely loved both Keys and Quinn. They are so different from each other but end up complementing each other perfectly. The book starts off where Keys and the rest of the band members are at Hunter and Kennedy's wedding. A scary situation occurs to Keys, causing Quinn to be called in to be her bodyguard. Because of the drugs that are used, Keys can't remember what happened or who it was. She is so used to being able to go out and do whatever, that she wilts when Quinn puts her on lock down. They both start feeling a physical attraction to each other but neither one wants to act on it at first. When they do give in, Keys is hoping that her confinement will end. Quinn, being the diligent bodyguard that he is, refuses to give in. When he finally does decide to do something nice for her, tragedy strikes again. What happens was something that I was not expecting. I loved the book but I was so sad when the book came to an end. I hope this series does what the Lost in Oblivion series did and that is everybody will get another book to continue their story.
