Mostly great for all but especially for beginners

Great overall storage recommendations. I thought I had a recent edition, but maybe this IS the most up to date. I Will be checking on their website for up to date pricing for various food storage items. Unfortunately, I loved Zycon but they folded.

My one real disappointment was the recipe section. I was really hoping for recipes using more basic storage items rather than canned soups, jarred sauces etc. I understand a Lot of folks Do use convenience foods but it is so much cheaper and healthier to make your own.

Nice section on make your own mixes but not nearly as complete as it could have been.

A reference section for other's books for mixes or storage items used for diy jarred dehydrated meals etc) which were briefly touched on for camping) would be very useful, if authors didn't want to go into those subjects on depth, or at all.

Overall a great reference.

The design of the book was heavy on images, most of which could not expand to make them larger, as well as colors that did not translate well to an e-ink Kindle, making it hard to read. Read well on my Kindle app, though. Useful information, but it will be prone to becoming outdated (products no longer available or link rot).

Other than the design, it was useful to see the sizes of cans and how to make three different food stashes based on how long you need them: the 72 hour kit, the 90 day kit, and a year's worth. They also had tips on managing pet food storage, which I haven't seen in similar books.

It was a Kindle Unlimited book which I got via my subscription.

If you only buy one book about planning ahead for safe food storage this is the book you need. The authors have actually done the testing, preparing and storage of the different varieties of food . Their expertise and mastery of the subject shines through in every page.

A straight forward guide to food prepping.

This is A straight forward guide to food prepping and storing that provided useful information. I liked that the authors avoided too much detail.
The information provided regarding preserving food was just enough to help one decide which options to further investigate. Enjoyable read.

My problem with the book is that it relies heavily on highly processed foods. It’s true that your bugout bag should have some protein bars and bottled water. But a long-term prepper would have enough high-quality, whole foods and water to last a year. Your family can’t live in junk.
