Flower's Bed- Black Roses Antoine Thomas In Black Roses, Rose is a tortured youngster and victim of a molester and psychotic foster parent. Flower, the career veteran and mentor of abuse makes contact with Black Rose and attempts to save the kid's premature life. When things seem like the are headed in the right direction, disaster strikes in the form of curiosity and a bad choice. Suddenly Black Rose is forced to deal with past Demons with the hope of overcoming an internal struggle of mental and emotional control. Black Roses is more graphic, more profound and more sexually charged than the original. Clearly, Black Rose is unlike anything put together since Flower's Bed part I.
I first came across this author (Antoine Thomas) by a friend. I read Flower's Bed in a few hours, then I looked for other books by the author and came across Black Roses. I appreciated the author providing a recap of Flower's Bed in the beginning of Black Roses. It provides a good idea of the characters if you didn't read Flower's Bed. However, it is best to read Flower's Bed first and then read the sequel. :) Black Roses has a few twists that I did not expect. I was in awe. Definitely a Page Turner! Sometimes life give you lemons and you have to decide if you are going to add the sugar to make lemonade. I say add a few cubes of ice too and make it a thirst quencher for life! Although this is fiction the issues in this book has truth to it. Happy Reading! :)
