When curvy Cinderella meets a charming reluctant alpha, can he save her from a step mother who means murder?

Cinder Vandeburg dreams getting away from her overbearing step mother and getting a real job—one that pays. When her stepsisters are finalists in a teen modeling competition at a chic resort in the beautiful mountains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, her stepmother offers her an opportunity: prove herself a competent personal assistant and earn not only a stellar referral, but a bona-fide introduction to the movers and shakers of the modeling world. This is Cinder’s chance at freedom but as usual, her stepmother seems to find fault in everything she does—even when she sends her to seduce suspected modeling judge, Aiden Burdock.

Aiden is no modeling judge. He’s a tour guide with a pack of bachelor wolves depending on him to rustle up quality clients and keep their business afloat. But Aiden never wanted to be an alpha. He dreams of freedom and running wild in the hills. Having six…no seven…now eight wolves depending on him for leadership and jobs is more than he counted on when he fled pack expectations in Colorado. But his alpha tendencies can’t be ignored and when he sees curvy Cinder being treated as the runt of the litter, he lies and says he’s a judge to get her away from her malicious boss.

Now Aiden is faced with how to tell Cinder he’s just a working stiff, like her, and a wolf shifter to boot. As Aiden and Cinder’s fairy godmother build up her self esteem and she starts falling in love with a man of secrets.

Lions and wolves and bears, oh my.

This book is truly garbage. It's all about a "plain" woman finding out she actually is hot enough to attract a big strong man, whoo! Seriously though the way the author finds a way to sexualize every body part of the main character is silly, and kind of sad. Skip this one.

She's never meant to be chosen. He's never meant to want her.

Cinder spends years being useful, invisible, and easy to blame, giving everything she has to a family that only keeps her close when they need her. At a resort during a modeling competition, one reckless connection cracks open the life closing around her.

Aiden isn’t the polished fantasy Cinder’s been taught to trust, and the closer he gets, the more dangerous he feels. What starts as raw attraction and escape turns intimate fast, pulling her into a connection that exposes old shame, deep hunger, and the question of whether desire can be trusted when honesty is fractured.

As pressure builds, the story turns sharper and more unstable, pushing Cinder to face how much of her life has been shaped by control and fear. What grows between them stops feeling like fantasy and becomes riskier, because being wanted means little if it still leaves you powerless.

Cinder grows from a woman trained to endure neglect and make herself smaller into someone who starts recognizing her own instincts, wants, and worth. Aiden begins as a protective man hiding behind charm and half-truths, but he has to become more honest and emotionally accountable if he wants to truly meet her. Their relationship shifts from charged fantasy into something more exposed, where sexual intensity opens the door to vulnerability and trust has to be earned under pressure.

A dark, ultra-steamy, forbidden Cinderella retelling shaped by fated pull, forced proximity, opposites-attract tension, and a fiercely protective wolf shifter hero. It’s about reclaiming self-worth after emotional damage, confronting the difference between being desired and being safe, and choosing honesty, autonomy, and real love over the role fear tries to lock you into.

The Elevator Pitch: A neglected young woman trapped in her stepfamily’s orbit gets one dangerous glimpse of being truly wanted when a rugged stranger sees past everything she’s been taught to hide. What begins as reckless attraction at a luxury resort turns into a volatile pull shaped by secrecy, class tension, and the terrifying possibility of freedom. As desire strips away shame and old roles start to crack, she has to decide whether being chosen is enough, or whether real love demands something far harder to claim.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

Jessica Aspen’s “Cinder” delivers a fresh and exciting twist on the classic Cinderella tale, blending fairy-tale magic with sizzling shifter romance. As the sixth installment in the Sexy Shifter Fairy Tale Romance series, this novel stands out for its unique combination of fantasy elements and passionate storytelling. Aspen crafts a world where not only is magic real, but romance and danger walk hand in hand, making for an irresistibly engaging read.

The story centers on a curvy, shy Cinderella, who finds herself working as her stepmother’s assistant. Unlike the traditional damsel in distress, this Cinderella faces real peril, as her stepmother’s intentions are far more sinister. This darker undertone raises the stakes and keeps readers invested in Cinderella’s fate, adding depth and urgency to a familiar narrative.

Enter Aiden, the reluctant yet charismatic alpha wolf-shifter whose path crosses with Cinderella's at just the right moment. Their chemistry is undeniable from the start—sparks truly fly between them. Aspen’s portrayal of their growing connection is both steamy and heartfelt, providing the emotional anchor that drives the story forward. The romance is well-paced, and Aiden’s protective instincts add a layer of tenderness that complements Cinderella’s journey toward self-confidence.

Overall, “Cinder” is an enjoyable and imaginative romance that will appeal to fans of fairy tale retellings, shifter stories, and strong heroines. The blend of suspense, magic, and romance ensures there’s never a dull moment. Jessica Aspen’s creative spin on a beloved classic is both entertaining and empowering, making this book a must-read addition to the series.

I guess you could say I have mixed feelings about this book. For the most part, I like Cinder, and I definitely like Aiden. I did take some issue with the fact that she was so naive that even a blind person could see that her stepmother did not have good intentions when it came to her and would never give her a good referral. But I tried to get past that, and here she is, going out on these nice dates with Aiden, and he's done nothing to prove to her that he has bad intentions toward her. Was he upfront about his income? No, he wasn't, but who cares? When they met at the ball and her stepmother once again interfered, Cinder got upset because she didn't know that he was, in her words, a "working stiff" just like her. That right there really upset me and ruined the book for me because it made her sound so shallow. And up until that point, she didn't come off as shallow like her stepsisters and her stepmother, but that comment right there was definitely shallow. And with everything that happened before she went to the dance, she had said there was no way she would go back with her stepmother, and what did she do? She turned around and went back with her stepmother.

An amazing story. Cinder is about ready to get a job and a place to stay of her own, away from her step mother, Vivianna and sisters. She only has to get through the teen beauty contest and she would get a recommendation letter from her stepmother.
Aiden, a wolf shifter is at the resort to schmooze clients for his tours company. The moment he sees Cinders he knows she could be special to him. When he hears her stepmother berating her, he stpes in and asks if he could borrow her as his assistant didnot make it to the resort. Vivianna thinks Aiden is one of the judges for the beauty contest and demands Cinder try to get him to vote for her sisters.
When Aiden finds out what Cinder thinks he does, at first he lets her think it but then confesses he was with the other conference, the business one. Cinder starts to fall for Aiden and Aidens wolf has claimed her as his mate.
But Vivianna is not ready to let Cinder go and tries to keep them apart. Will Vivianna succeed or will Cinder get her HEA? Loved reading this story. Thanx.

I was really pleasantly surprised that this was not simply an exact retelling of Cinderella in a modern setting. Even though in the bare basics the fairytale is recognizable and there are several references, for example one to slippers, it is quite an entertaining story that works perfectly on its own power to.

I loved the fact that the heroine was plussize, ( being a plussize myself) and the way certain other necessary main-characters of the fairytale were imagined in this story. Sometimes that made me smile.

The characters are realistic and more dimensional than in the original fairytale. The pace is perfect, even though quite a lot is happening you can keep up.

I really had a wonderful time losing myself in this fairytastic book and will certainly keep my eyes open for more of this!

Book 6 of the Sexy Shifter Fairy Tale Romance series. Can be read as a standalone.

'When curvy Cinderella meets a charming reluctant alpha can he save her from a step mother who means murder?'

The characters were very complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

This story has you rooting for the FMC from the first page. Cinder is cruelly treated by her stepmother, who makes her feel fortunate to have a home at all. On a trip to Jackson Hole for her stepsister's modeling competition, Cinder meets Aiden. Aiden, a wolf shifter, is there for a business meeting. Now his wolf knows Cinder is his mate. But a lot of bad things start happening to Cinder and Aiden. The attraction between them is strong, and I love how they get their happy ending. Excellent book!

Cinder and Aiden connect the moment they meet although she feels insecure. Her stepmother constantly put her down all her life so she felt that she did not deserve happiness. Aiden teaches her differently. There is a bit of danger close to Cinder and Aiden is a hero. I recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.

Enjoyable story filled with intense positive and negative emotions from a special one, family dynamics, work, and friends. It raises various feelings from empathy, disappointment, horror, to support, excitement, and happiness. Enough attention to body sizes reminds to worry more about possible health issues from what food and how little or much one consumes.

A true Cinderella story. Cinder has been "working" for her step mother and step sisters. She wants to go out on her own and do a real job with real money. But when your step mother owns you it is hard. When Cinder meets Aiden all best are off.

This is like Cinderella still with her horrible stepsisters and stepmother but with a sexy shifter. I loved the characters Cinderella and Aiden she was sent to seduce him but instead they eventually fell in love and her stepmother is truly evil. I loved this story and the characters and I highly recommend reading this book.

This is a paranormal romance with a vague retelling of the Cinderella story where you know there will be a hea, but different enough and has element of danger to be interesting. It's well written and enjoyable to read. I'm not a huge fan of so much family drama and so self-conscious female leads through so beware.

This is totally my bad. I went in expecting something else because the cover I read was different. Not good, but too short to DNF.

This is a twisted retelling of Cinderella , with a twist prince charming is a wolf alpha and Cinder is a over worked assistant to her step mother who has two daughters in the pageant world . Cinder is trying to get out from underneath all of them. She came to the pageant in hopes of finding another person to be an assistant for . Her step mom treats her like crap cause she is curvy and a little shy.

She is unsure of herself until she met Aiden , he is a hot shifter and they are drawn together. Sparks fly . Will the step mother destroy everything that Cinder is trying to do , will Aiden and Cinder get to their happily ever after.

The characters in this novella are so complex. I love that Cinder is a curvy girl that is kind of unsure of herself and her place in the world . She is such a timid little mouse at the beginning of the books . Not saying no to her step mom and step sisters . She is being used so much and she is so tolerant of these wicked people . Even doing what her mother wants , seducing a guy that they think is a judge .

But as we start to read and we see start to blossom into a sexy young confidant woman that turns more then just Aiden's head . With the help of her fairy god mother Cinder gets the power she deserves and the man of her dreams . Now Aiden is the man that any woman would fall head over heels with. He is sexy as sin but there is also the other side of him . The alpha of his pack and the head of a outfitting company , he is trying to keep his head above water . He didn't want to be the alpha but the eight other wolves need him to be in charge . You can see him fighting everything that is happening . He is falling for Cinder and wants her to be his and when push comes to shove he will protect her no matter what the cost . NOW THATS LOVE .

In this retelling of Cinderella is twisted but also such a good read . The author stays true to the story of the Cinderella but also throws in so many cool new elements. I read this book in an afternoon and loved every second of the story . The characters are crisp and new but so relatable . The story has been told and retold over and over but this story is a fresh take on the fairy tale but just a little more sexier and a little more kinkier . So if you want a great series of books to read check them all out . There are some pretty sexy shifters out in the books . But really check out Cinder you will not be disappointed.

A really fun Cinderella romance story set in America!
This is the third book that I have read in this series (the others were "Goldi" and "Red"), and I like this one much better. The other two were too serious and only had superficial details similar to the fairy tale that they are supposed to be like. "Cinder", on the other hand had a wonderful dose of humor and has nearly the entire plot of the Cinderella fairy tale. Great! It is like Cinderella set in modern day America, with a sexy wolf shifter hero as a bonus. Cool! The main character, Cinder, is totally likeable and relatable, and Aiden the hero is such a good guy with great qualities. The story keeps up a great pacing and had a nice dash of danger. I was very pleased overall.
Cinder is a young woman in her early twenties who is under the control of her tyrannical stepmother, who is avidly pursuing her two daughters' modeling careers. Cinder is working as their unpaid assistant at a modeling competition in the hopes of getting a real job with someone else at the competition. Poor Cinder is verbally and emotionally abused by her stepmother, but she hasn't lost her zest for life. Then she meets a hot blue-eyed guy who sweeps her off her feet!
I really enjoyed this fun novella. I would recommend this to any romance readers who like Cinderella or shifters. It is moderately steamy.
I received a copy from the author in return for an honest review.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Cinder is trying to do the best job she can in order to get a good reference but her step mother and step sisters aren't making it easy . Cinder's stepmother sends her to get information from a man she thinks is one of the judges of the contest her stepsisters are in. Aiden sees how Cinders family treats her and sets out to rescue her from them .The sparks are flying between Cinder and Aiden but he has secrets add in an evil stepmom who wont stop at anything to get what she wants and a fairy godmother and you have the perfect retelling of a favorite fairytale. I would definitely recommend this book to others who enjoy these types of stories it was a great read .

A violent take on a traditional fairy tale ( but since when have they ever been gentle and soft ? ) Sometimes people can be too trusting and self sacrificing for their own good and this heroine certainly slots into that category. A good read and the end of a great series.
