Five years have passed since Cora Daniels left home. She’s back and supposed to be starting over.
She left seeking freedom, the chance to find herself. It turned out she wasn’t who she thought she’d become.
One poisonous relationship, two tragic events, and what seems like a lifetime of guilt leave her jaded and unsure of how to start a new life.
She’s alone. Left behind to deal with the consequences of her actions.
Until she meets Brady Maxwell.
He’s warm, caring, and incredibly attractive. When a friendship blooms, Cora fears what will happen when the spark between them undoubtedly catches fire.
Britni Hill is an author with books ranging from new adult to contemporary romance. She spends her days as a hair stylist, and her nights with the characters in her head striving to write real, page turning romance.
Britni lives in Indiana where she was born and raised. She has a rescue pup she adores and an unhealthy love of binge-watching cheesy, teenage dramas. If she isn’t writing, she’s reading or watching horror flicks.
A refreshing read with twists and turns along the way that will keep you on your toes! I loved Cora and Brady's story. Cora had a lot of heart attack and Brady was right there to help her along the way, never over bearing and exactly what she needed. It was unique and gripping and one of Britni's best yet!
Great rollercoaster ride. It was full of emotions, a second chance and healing. The storyline and the characters were fantastic! I recommend this to all. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.

The feels of this book……Cora is a mess of emotion and we love her but kinda wonder what the heck is Brady thinking!! LOL I mean he is perfect. He is kind. He is gentle. He is honest and knows when to push and back off of Cora.
Cora had a rough marriage. She was married too young to the wrong guy and made alot of bad decisions that cause her to run home after his death. She is essentially punishing herself FOREVER…that is her plan. Never be happy because she doesn’t deserve to be happy anymore after the awful marriage that her and Mason had. Brady sees her and is interested. He is drawn to her quiet side and soon is pushing her to let him in. The more he pushes the more her walls crumble and the more she spills about her past. She tells him everything EXCEPT the one secret she can’t even breathe out loud. She feels that is her biggest in of all the terrible things in her past. That one is the biggie that no one will forgive or understand why she feels the way she does.
Brady is bit older and also had his wild time. He left home but returned and is part owner of the local coffee shop across from where Cora works. He is just PERFECT. He is falling very quickly for Cora and making her see that life is worth living for. …..ANNND THEN the bomb drops. I think I had it figured out but to actually see what his secret does to Cora was heartbreaking. To see this couple torn apart by life choices they BOTH made hurt my heart. Cora and Brady both have to make major decisions if they are to be together……
The ending chapter made my heart happy. I loved seeing Cora taking chances and opening her heart to the possibility of…….well sorry I can’t tell ya…..but just know that it made my eyes a bit misty.

I absolutely fell in love with Brady Maxwell. Britni did a great job telling the story of Cora and Brady.
Cora just moved back home after losing her husband. Although she is trying to put her life back together and start over she still holds dark secrets to herself not willing to share them with anyone not even her family. She is afraid of what they will think of her. She meets Brady at the coffee shop across from the dance studio she teaches at and he is changing the way she looks at life.
Brady Maxwell is loving, kind, knew exactly what Cora needed and when. He knew when he could push her and when he needed to give her space. However, Brandy has a secret too that when Cora finds out sends her running for the hills.
I enjoyed seeing Brady help bring Cora out of her darkness. Cora friend Mel was cracking me up and I loved their scenes together. I cannot believe this was my first Britni Hill book I was captivated by Brady and Cora. It was full of emotions for me.
My favorite line
Since I met him, he’s known when to push and when to back off, when to let me think and when to think for me. He’s known what to say and how to make me feel better. Even without knowing me, he has inherently known what I needed and when. And he’s gone out of his way to give it to me.
This book is heartbreaking and sweet both at the same time! I loved it! Guilt and depression are ugly monsters that take hold of a person's life and control it. The person who suffers is just sad and and doesn't feel worthy of happiness. That is life Cora was living and she broke my heart! Enter Brady he is a beautiful ray of sunshine in her dark lonely world. With patience and kindness he slowly brought her out of her darkness and into light. He was so sweet letting her slowly move from strangers, to friends, to lovers. Cora told him her story but held back the worst of it. Brady also had a secret, a secret that could be more than Cora could take. That secret could send her running, right back into her comfortable darkness. I so enjoyed Britni's West Palm series but this is probably my favorite book of hers by far. I love a book that makes you feel every word.
This is an amazing heartfelt book. Cora was broken, weighed down by guilt, regret, and disparity but Brady saved her. Not in the physical sense, he knew what she needed without her opening her mouth. He was her rock, her salvation, her growth. His omission and presences helped mend a strained relationship with her father. I allowed her to accept the past and get help.
This book was so many things but most of all it was a healing mechanism. You "Almost Never" get a second change or get over depression that is bedded in you but know there is always hope. Brady was Cora's hope, her light, her balm. This was my first Britni Hill book and it was amazing.
Oh my goodness! What an emotional rollercoaster! I was invested in Cora right from the start. And Brady was so amazing and patient. I haven't read a book that took me so high and then so low, that dealt with real life issues but was still very entertaining. I don't want to give anything away, but I even loved that that it touches on the relationship with her family. Thoroughly enjoyed this book beginning to end!
I really enjoyed this story. Although I've never been through Cora's situation, the author writes so that you can feel her pain. Brady is perfect. He is understanding and strong, but he puts others before himself. I'd definitely recommend this one for anyone who likes some steamy scenes, a little heartache, and a love that's true!
She left Home to find herself but life did not end that way and after a poisonous relationship she is now back home. She feels lost and unsure. How will she live to now? Then she meets him but can he help her through her pain and loss. See if he can

Almost Never is a fantastic story about a woman who almost doesn't take a chance on love. great pacing after the hero's reveal. I liked how their roles switched after. Hot sex scenes and a perfect HEA.
