This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions! The ending left me speechless—WHO could have seen that coming?! I just want to scream at her and tell her to get out of there!! King has been a black cloud with good D and money since they met. The way Lady P. ended this book had me hollering. I enjoyed this ride that Mz. Lady P decided to take us on this go around. While I think that King and Siyah have a genuine love for one another, their actions leave a great deal to be desired. Understanding that King has never known true love prior to stumbling across Siyah, some things I would think would be common sense for a grown man and yet King made decisions based on emotion that simply didn't track for someone of his stature. There were times that Siyah just irked my entire soul because of her naivety and unwillingness to understand that the moves that she made being the better half of a man like King had to be thought out and calculated to ensure the safety of her family. I was happy that she was able to find her way out of the horrific situation that she was in with Luca in pt. 1 but I was still a little taken aback that she didn't allow the lessons that she learned to help her be more aware and cognizant of people's motives. Her willingness to even entertain Gutta knowing that he meant her no good, caused me to view her with a side eye many times throughout the story. I was glad to see that Vita got what she so richly deserved in this book and all I can say is that Karma is a nasty lady not worthy of the space she takes up. My entire being gets so frustrated with these guys who have the world at their fingertips, women who give them their undying loyalty, and at the end of the day they still manage to make crazy decisions that ultimately result in the demise of their relationship with the one person who has their back without a shadow of a doubt. To see how well Siyah knew King and was able to see into the inner recesses of his soul solidified in my mind that they truly were meant to be together as a couple. The additional cast of characters helped to round out the story and added the color and flavor the story needed to help round out it's edges. This isn't the best that I've read from this author but it was still an enjoyable read. I am sure if you pick this book up to read you will be pleasantly surprised. Good Job Mz. Lady P.
