Damian has money, fame, and friends. A professional football player, his life is easier now than it was during his poverty-stricken youth, but it can't give him the one thing he craves: the love of a good man.
Tommy isn't going to settle down...
Tommy has been hurt, and he isn't going to let it happen again, especially not now that he has a child to raise. He'll fool around with some hunky football player for a one night stand, but that's all it's going to be.
Sometimes life can be perfect... Damian and Tommy find themselves with a chance at a perfect life, if Tommy can overcome his fear of commitment. Can Damian help his damaged lover overcome his past, or will it sabotage any future happiness they might find?
Tommy sister died shortly after Nathan was born so he adopted him, now Tommy must make sure that whomever he is in a relationship with is a safe environment for Nathan and he is extremely cautious because of a abusive previous relationship. But when Tommy and Damien meet sparks fly! They each go into this relationship thinking it would be while Damien was on vacation so why not throw caution to the wind and have a little fun. What I really enjoyed about this story is the fact that Tommy is submissive and he guides his new lover (Damien) into his world of BDSM while it only touched on D/s and some light bondage it showed the beginning of someone finally finding what they needed.
Honestly, after reading about 2 chapters, I just couldn't go any further, this was really bad. There were editing lapses, disparagement of bdsm practitioners and a host of little things that annoyed me. I was really looking forward to this and that just makes it suck even more. Would I recommend this? In it's current state, nope, just pass right over it, you'd be missing out on nada.
DNF @ 46%. I can't handle the corniness. How old are these guys seriously? They're like a bunch of teenage girls. All in their feelings. Thinking about a relationship 5mins after meeting each other, but then saying yeah it's only one night, but maybe.... Ugh. This is a male author? Really?? The D/s angle is just not the business. Why do authors insist on writing about things without doing proper research? I just had to bail at the whole dramatics in the limo. Life is too short.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
In this book we get Damian's story (who we met in the book Chance for the Win) and we are introduced to Tommy. Since coming out Damian has only found men who want to use him for his fame as a Superbowl winning wide receiver. Damian wants a man that wants him for him not what he can buy him or if he can set him up as a new reality star. When Damian and all of the previous couples go away for a fun weekend. Damian is just looking for a one night stand not a possible relationship. Damian wonders though is it possible to fall in love after just one night?
Tommy knows nothing about football and nothing about Damian himself but finds himself very attracted to him when he sees him on the beach. Tommy has things in his life that would turn many men off. He has been burned in the past and isn't looking to go through that again so part of him always keeps Damian at arms length. However the more time they spend together the harder it is to separate the man from his own fears. Tommy wonders can he really have found someone with all that is going on in his life?
This book has a story-line that draws you in just like the others in this authors books. These are men you can relate to that are fighting against things that many couples are fighting as well. This book isn't about gender it is about love and relationship. Can it work? What from my past will stand in the way? Will I be good enough? Can I get what I need with this person? These are all questions we ask and this author puts out and amazing book that again shows you a love story that transcends race, gender, and to a small degree age. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Damien is with his friends in San Diego for a quick weekend getaway.. mainly to get laid. He has come out previous year but never has gone all the way with a guy. So he is anxious to meet someone for a one night stand. Damien meets Tommy while playing Volleyball and I liked the connection they had even though they only talked about it being a hook up for one night. After returning to Chicago Damien can't get Tommy out of his mind and invites him to Chicago for a weekend. Damien then gets transferred to San Diego and with many turns and tangles they end up together and married...
I was offered to get a free copy of this book as a bonus read from an author whose ARC's I normally review. I checked few reviews and decided to give this book a try. The beginning was pretty good but then it was turned bit too much angsty and full of drama for my taste. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I guess I prefer reading about the good times between a couple than all the drama that keeps them apart. But if you don't mind those things you definitely could like the book like many other readers have so far.
I liked the story. Felt like there were areas that I would have liked to see expanded on, but over all it was enjoyable. Two hot men with an explosive attraction for one another. Damien is a football player who has finally come out that he is gay. He is on a short weekend vacation with two other gay couples and he is looking for a one night hook up. When he meets Tommy on the beach the sparks fly instantly and the two end up spending the rest of the night together. But will the two be able to stay away from each other? Or will the one night keep drawing them together? But are they good for each other? Or will the past and tempers ruin any chance of a happily ever after? Arc provided for review
Like the two previous books in this series, this one would have benefited from a good editor giving it another once over. All three in the series have had germs of exceptional romances but have suffered from being a but sloppy in execution. However, one thing they've all had as a winner have been superb covers. Damien and Tommy needed a bit of work to give some depth to their building relationship and some explanation of what Tommy was so scared of. The sub story with Sammy was a total waste of time and served no purpose in its existing form, it would have have been better to leave it out if it wasn't going to be developed as a proper hurdle to them getting together.
I love how each book is separated, but follows right in to the nects, you never lose contact of the first couple. This is about Damien finding his other and Half and Tommy being able to let go of his past hurt. To let Damien to true love him and live happy after. I have enjoyed reading this series so far. Hope for more. I was given The Perfect catch for a honest review..
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute story that pulled me in from the beginning. Damian and Tommy made a good couple, and I really enjoyed seeing them become closer, and dealing with their issues so that they could have a future together.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was a really good read with an HEA ending. The books in this series can all be read as standalones but bring in characters from the other books. Hot guys, hot sex and romance too. Who'd a thunk it?! LOL!
One night stand turned into can't stop thinking or wanting each other. All these stories are well written keep you entertained and not overly in your face with lots of sex, just a chemistry that builds and builds for each other.
