Raine’s a Fae with no magic. Banished to live among “Mundanes” in the human world she works as an Inquisitor for Otherworlders. And she is having a very bad start to her New Year!
Her dragon Sam wants a girlfriend. Her weretiger boyfriend Jordan is being strangely hormonal. And old enemies are emerging from the woodwork, forbidding Slade, her only friend, from giving her any magical assistance.
Things start to look up when Cupid offers Raine a job with a fat paycheck- if, before Valentine's Day, she finds the person screwing with his dating service and getting his clients killed.
But Raine isn’t the only one trying to figure out what's going on. The Guardians have their eyes trained on Raine. And as the Otherworlder version of the Secret Police, she can't afford to get on their bad side.
Raine must discover who wants Cupid to close his doors for good, and deal with Jordan's sudden need to take a Valentine's Day trip to Vegas, all while trying to keep herself out off everyone's hit list.

Somebody is trying to sabotage Cupid by matching Otherworlders with incompatibles, often with deadly consequences.
This quick read is very enjoyable, with just enough magic, conflict & some steamy sex to keep you entertained. I hope that Ms. Ganiere continues to write Raine's adventures for every holiday!
Rebekah Ganiere has continued her Otherworlder Series with another incredibly cute romance! Poor Raine is in it again, between her ex-fiancé, her young Dragon and her incredibly sexy Were-Boyfriend life is never dull. Throw in a pesky Sprite, rude unbelievable Parents, unchecked Gods and Goddesess, as well as a slew of Otherworlers and you have a life made in . . . Well certainly not Hades! Raine has to deal with the very same parents that abandoned and rejected her, they send a message telling her of their requirement of her helping another Fae. Regardless of their demands she refuses, and who could blame her. She then runs into another old "friend" from the past, who reveals a bit of history Raine had no knowledge of, therefore hurting her again. But Raine gets her revenge on this old "friend" even though she has it fixed almost as soon as it is done. Life is never easy for this wonderful character, her love life is as odds as ever, her past seems determined to kick her when she feels she is down and it seems as if the Cosmos is so not aligned in her favor. Jordan is distant but loving, though you never know how he truly feels. Slade still loves her even though he knows it is over between them, and he is always willing to help until he gets notice from "above" that he can no longer help her. Will peace ever come to Raine and Jordan's life, or will they be constantly fighting their families beliefs? Grab your copy and join Rain and her crazy clan along for the journey. Fantastic reading, a great page turner!! Recommend to all fantasy and paranormal romance lovers. Well Done🌺
***I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my unbiased review of it. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s.***
Cupid’s Curse is book 2 of Rebekah R. Ganiere’s Otherworlder series where we were first introduced to Raine, a Fae, who lives like a Mundane with humans because she has no magic. She’s visited by a brownie with a letter from her parents demanding that she help the fairy out but she refuses. But that doesn’t mean that that’s her only visitor asking her for help. She receives a couple of calls from Cupid’s Dating Service, thinking that it’s an attempt to get her involved with the services on a dating level but the truth is something different all together. Cupid is wanting her help with a problem that seems to be plaguing him concerning his matches. For some reason the matches aren’t working. The couples aren’t compatible and the consequences are quickly escalating to deadly. There are rumors of injuries, maulings and now…a girl is dead. Cupid wants Raine to figure out who is creating the problems and BEFORE Valentine’s Day. But Raine is having her own problems too. Her boyfriend of one year, Jordan, is keeping secrets from her…because of the pressure being put on him by his pack…and the timing of everything in connection to his beast. As Raine takes on the case for Cupid she’s also contacted by the Guardians…Otherworlder Secret Service. They want in on who is behind the chaos first and they are willing to threaten who they can in Raine’s life to try and get what they want. This book is as much fun as the first in this series. But things are starting to get serious for sure in Raine’s life as she struggles to voice her feelings for Jordan and deal with the lingering ones she has for Slade, who has now been ordered not to help her by…who else…her parents. As in the first book there is a surprise inside that you just don’t see coming until it pops which is awesome. The story keeps you engaged and is sweet, funny and just the right amount of romance. It keeps you on your toes in it’s own way. I adore this book and will be buying a copy as soon as I can. I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Raine Tianna Alva' has no magic, but she's smart, strong and resilient. Her parents banished her from the Etherverse five years ago and have ignored her ever since. She's put her talents to use helping Otherworlders in need on Earth's plane of existence. She's been betrayed or abandoned one too many times and is wary of saying 'I love you' again.
Jordan Dronningens Garde is a weretiger, who works for his dad's construction company. He's expected to find a were to mate but he's already given his heart to a Fae.
Samael aka Sam is a baby dragon given to Raine by her ex. He's cute, funny, hungry all the time and inappropriate most of the time.
Jordan is Raine's best friend, and lover but if she tells him she loves him she's afraid she'll lose him. But both are too into each other to let others separate them, even if he's been acting squirrelly lately.
This installment confused me a little. It started off with Raine's parents sending her an impersonal missive asking her to help 'the folks of the mound.' Then moves on to Otherworlders getting mismatched by Cupid's Dating Service, leading to lethal outcomes. She can't ignore Cupid's request for assistance when people are dying and getting hurt. The author never goes back to the Pixie's request for help. I enjoyed following her as she finds the culprits responsible and all the day to day struggles with an enforcer with a grudge and friends and enemies making appearances but I'm still wondering about the first request, while enjoying the small twisty teaser at the end.
This is a quick read that gives tidbits for the future, and hints from the past, while focusing on this case. Bonus humorous and sometimes serious vignettes between core characters of the series, leaving one feeling entertained but still wondering about the parts started but unfinished.
Nigglies: Wondering why is Sam looking for a girlfriend when he's supposed to be a baby dragon
I had an older copy that had several editing issues but I expect those have been addressed by now.
Vigilante at Valentine was a fun, quick read that I enjoyed tremendously. My favorite character is Sam, Raine’s baby dragon pet. Oh, I don’t think he would like me calling him a baby dragon but he is so sweet. I loved his sense of humor and some of the things he said made me laugh.
Raine starts getting these calls from a dating service she keeps trying to ignore them but they just keep on popping up. Raine is not looking for anyone at the moment as she has a weretiger boyfriend who is giving her a lot of hassle at the moment about going to Vegas for Valentine’s Day. Jordan is hiding something that he doesn’t want Raine to know and he is not talking.
Raine is getting very agitated at Jordan but she has more things on her mind. That dating service that keeps calling is not trying to find her a date. No, they want to hire her. Someone is messing around with Cupid’s dating service. Customers are being miss-matched.
People are getting hurt and things are starting to turn deadly for his customers. Cupid wants Raine to find out who is screwing with his dating service and trying to shut him down. Can Raine find the culprit before Valentine’s Day?
I sorely loved reading this little gem. Vigilante at Valentine was full of magic and love but it has so much more to offer. The suspense and mystery alone are enough to keep you hanging on from one page to the next not wanting to lay it down for one moment. What an adventure!
When I opened Vigilante at Valentine a spell was placed upon me as I was drawn into its world holding on until that last page came insight and I was given no choice then but to lay it down wishing and wanting more. I am ready to dive into the next book Massacre at Mardi Gras now to see where Raine’s story goes next.
I would recommend Vigilante at Valentine to all paranormal and mystery fans! Grab your copy of Vigilante at Valentine a wonderfully magical story today!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and so glad that I did, I fell in love with the first book so was excited to start this book and it most certainly did not disappoint, if anything it made me love this authors work even more!!!!
What an exciting, action filled story that I loved and I honestly cannot get enough of, I can't wait for the next book!!! You really get an insight into the face world in this book and you begin to see what kind of place Raine comes from and what the people are like. You also get an insight into the shifter world and the politics that run it. I really love you way this author writes and I have done for a long time, she is able to create and evoke so much emotion in her readers and I think that's one reason she is one of my favourite authors!!! This is a storyline that will hook you left, right and centre! I guarantee you will not be able to put this book down!!!!
The more I read about Raine the more I love her. Her strength, her passion and most of all her determination to live a happy life even though the pain of being shunned hurts her so deeply, she won't let that ruin her life and I applaud this. I love how her relationship with Jordan has developed since the ending of the first book and the trials that they go through in this book, I love how fierce, loyal, passionate and protective he is. The other character I really took to in this book which took me by surprise was Slade, I really want to know more about him, the real Slade, not the one he shows the world.
If you are reading this review then you can probably tell how much I completely and utterly adored this book and I cannot recommend this book highly enough!!!!!!!
Raine is a magicless Fae, banished from her home realm because of her lack of magical abilities. D+She earns her living in the Mundane world by helping Otherworlders with their problems.
It's almost Valentine's Day and Cupid's Dating Service seems to be the target of someone vindictive enough to try to ruin the business. Otherworlders are being matched in a horrific way that is leading to catastrophic and even deadly results. Cupid hires Raine to get to the bottom of the problem before Valentine's Day is ruined.
At the same time, Raine is trying to figure out what is going on with her weretiger boyfriend, Jordan. After declaring his love for her, now he seems to have something else on his mind.
"What you seek most has always been inside you. Only by allowing true love in will you unlock it." Raine isn't sure what this cryptic message from the Fates means, but she knows that she needs to solve Cupid's problem along with her own.
This is an enjoyable book, full of magical creatures and Greek gods along with an adorable pet dragon named Sam. There is romance and suggestions of sexy fun, but I appreciate that the author has allowed the reader to supply their own bedroom scenes. If you enjoy a bit of mystery, a bit of romance and lots of magic, you will enjoy this book. I look forward to following Raine and crew on more adventures in the future.
This second book in the Otherworlder Paranormal Mystery Series by Rebekah R Ganiere was a quick fun and entertaining read about a mismatch of characters: Raine the Fae with no magic banished to live among the human populace, her dragon Sam who is a small in size but not in attitude, her ex-boyfriend Slade who is also Fae and often works to help or protect her, and then there is Jordan her current love who is a weretiger and is also totally in love with Raine even though it goes against the laws of the tiger pack. In this short little adventure, Raine is hired by the God, Eros who is otherwise known to us as Cupid, to find out who is sabotaging his love matches that had been working so well for centuries, and now some are actually causing deaths among the humans which are drawing unwanted attention from The BOE (Bureau of Otherworlder Enforcement) who would like to shut all Otherworlder activities down and who of course demands Raine to stop taking cases involving Otherworlders as that is their job. One of the most enjoyable features of the book for me is the language Raine uses in situations when we humans would just swear or use cuss words. The trip from start to finish is never a smooth one and this is no different as it heads towards a surprising conclusion. This is a voluntary review of this book from StoryOrigin.
This second book in the Otherworld Paranormal Mystery Series by Rebekah R. Ganiere was a quick, fun, and entertaining read about a mismatch of characters: Raine, the Fae with no magic, banished to live among the human populace, her dragon Sam, who is small in size but not in attitude, her ex-boyfriend Slade who is also Fae and often works to help or protect her, and then there is Jordan her current love who is a weretiger and is also totally in love with Raine even though it goes against the laws of the tiger pack. I have not read any books by this author, but I picked this one up on a whim when I saw it. I figured I read it when I wanted a quick, quirky read. I'm not sure what to expect. I approach almost all my readings nowadays without reading too much about them beforehand. I skimmed this blurb, so I knew it would be a bit on the quirky side. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a pet dragon in it, making anything worth reading. Pick this one up if you want a quick read that is a bit different but will surprise you.
I read the novella that came before this one and then immediately read this one right after. This one takes up a few months after the first one. Raine is settling into her life with her new boyfriend, but things are starting to go wrong. First, he is acting strange, she hears from her parents who had banished her demanding her help, and Otherworlders are being hurt and killed. She gets involved in the investigation to everything to find out just what is going on with everyone and hopes that she won’t be next. I can’t believe I am saying this, but this book was even better than the first. This was such a fun book, and Raine’s dragon is just icing on the cake. I loved the chemistry between her and her boyfriend, and I loved how well-written this was. If you like fun, fast, paranormal romance/mystery, give this a try; it was wonderful! I am off to find out more about Raine’s past and to find out about her “glow.” Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.
Cupid's Curse was a whimsical tale of love matches gone wrong for the Otherworlders. It has Raine following up on a lot of botched up matches. Gnomes and Vampires – as if! There is a lot more to Raine and we get to see more of her and her background. She also gets hope for the future – that is if she survives Jasper of the Guardians. She might have a happily ever after with Jordan. And of course Sam – you have to love Sam. He's a not so tiny baby dragon that knows just how to push Raine's buttons. You'll definitely fall into the rhythmic story. This book follows Saving Christmas. You will get more out of Cupid's Curse if you first read Saving Christmas. However, it can be read as a stand alone.
Once again we get to visit with Raine (the no-magic Fae Inquisitor), Jordan (were tiger), and Sam (Raine’s tiny dragon/child). We also get the Greek gods and goddesses involved in this story. To that end, we have Raine doing an investigation for Cupid, AKA Eros, the Greek god of Love. Someone is trying to destroy Eros’ business, Cupid’s Dating Service, and he wants Raine for the job. But, while Raine is trying to investigate she also has Jasper from the BOE – Bureau of Otherworlder Enforcement breathing down her neck. Reading about Raine trying to get through all of these fiascoes is such fun! Psst...Raine and Jordan’s relationship gets both intense and, at some points, frustrating throughout the story, but the ending is...well, you’ll just have to read the book to find out.
The intrepid fey is at it again! This time Raine has a real who-done-it on her hands. Hired by Cupid she is supposed to find out why his matches all of a sudden do not match at all. Enter gods and demi gods, nasty members of the magical secret police, current and ex lovers, Sam the dragon, smallish in stature, large in impact, an overbearing sprite, oh and family trouble on top of it all. And Raine is up the river without her magic stilettos. This second book in the series is again crammed full with characters and quirks and turns. And again I could not help myself but giggle along. I volontarily reviewed a free copy of this book.
Raine and Sam are back in the second installment of the series. Otherworlders and humans are being killed~ People are being paired up with those who are totally wrong for them by Cupid. Cupid hires Raine to discover who is behind all these pairings. Slade makes an appearance in this book, and he has orders to no longer help Raine. Jordan and Raine continue what they started in book one…but at what cost? Who is behind the wronged pairings? What will happen with Jasper and his hatred toward Raine? Rebekah Ganiere writes another thrilling and funny story in her Paranormal Mystery series! I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
This is a fun, quick Paranormal Mystery that I absolutely loved! The first was our introduction into Raine’s world and it was fantastic and this second book is a fantastic continuation. Someone is trying to put Cupid out of business so it’s down to our fae with no magic to solve the problem and save the day. Sam the little dragon is such a great character, sassy, snarky and so so funny and is very protective of Raine who despite being put upon and looked down, does an amazing job at solving issues though not so good at staying out of trouble!! Exciting, fun and a great crossover with mythologies, this had me hooked from start to finish!

Acquire " Vigilante at Valentine " today for hours of intriguing and enjoyable entertainment. Kat
Raine keeps getting phone calls from a Dating agency, only to find out they want to hire her, not get her a date. Someone is setting people up so that things go wrong and it could put Cupid out of business. Raine has to do things alone after one of her friends is ordered to stop helping her. Jordan is also acting weird and doesn't want to talk about it. Maybe they will have a good Valentine's day, but only if she can solve her case.
Vigilante at Valentine, book 2 of Rebekah Ganiere's Otherworlder Paranormal Mystery series is a wonderfully written mystery. The characters are truly amazing. Sam, the little dragon is LOL funny. I'd love to have a pet like him. The crossover between the different mythologies is balanced perfectly. Raine is a spitfire and Jordan is a wonderful match for her. I can't wait to see what happened next for them.
Wow, this is the second book I have read from this author and there definitely will be more. Book 2, gives us more detail about everyone’s past and the storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat. Book 1 & 2 were so good I read them both one after the other in one night.
Raine, Jordan, and Sam are on another adventure. There are problems with Cupid's Dating Service and Raine is the only one who can solve them. In the meantime she has to figure out how to avoid trouble with the B.O.E. and figure out what Jordan is keeping from her.
Raine has her hands full in this one. From beginning to end otherworlders won't give her a break but she doesn't give up. Sam definitely loves his mom and tries to protect her even if he's only two feet tall. Glad to see Jordan doesn't give up on Raine. Can't wait for book 3.
This was a fun quick read! I feel in love with the characters and then became invested in them. The romance was a bit heavier than in the first book. It was a fun rollercoaster of a mystery. I laughed and cried. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun mystery with a sweet heartwarming romance.
This second story in the Otherworld series is just perfect. It's got great characters and an adorable story. It is a joy to read and some times laugh out loud funny. I really enjoyed it and this this series a nice little escape from the usual PNR fair.
This is the second book in the Otherworlder Series, following the Saving Christmas book. I really enjoyed this story, which is not as slushy as it sounds! I definitely recommend it if you like supernatural/paranormal stories, and I'm looking forward to reading more like it.
Raine has her hands full & not just with Sam. Raine is unsure of herself still but determined to work through it. This time she's dealing with Old God's and they can be cagey, fortunately Raine is thorough and leaves no stone unturned.
A very well written book. Loved Jordan the shifter and Slade the Fae. The romance, comedy and mystery all go together in this series of books !! A must read !!
This book is a great follow-up to Saving Christmas. I would love to see more books from these characters. This brings you in and won't let you go until the very end. This is a wonderful mix of mythology and paranormal.
"Cupids Curse" is amazing. I loved it and related with the inner base of what Raine was feeling.. Rebekah always amazes me with her ability to work any genre, add humor and some of the most exotic, unique, snarky, and colorful characters. The story-line is awe-inspiring. The plot is so perfect. Rain is a magic less Fae, kicked out of her home realm by her Royal parent for being a disappointment. Sam is Raine's baby dragon. He is one snarky talking dragon and my favorite character. Raine came home to find Sam trapping a Fairy within his claws getting ready to eat her. When Rain told him no, Sam let her know that Brownies are food and he eats Brownies! Raine told this brownie was not food so let her go. The Fairy was sent with a note from The King himself telling Raine to help them with whatever their problem was. Rain to the Arielle, the fairy, that she didn't help Fae or Fairies so get out. Once she was engaged to Slade, who cheated on her just before the wedding so she broke it off. Then came Gabriel another man she told she loved and it wasn't long before he broke up with her and crushed her heart into thousands of pieces. Jordan is her current boyfriend with whom she has loved for about 2 years only won't tell him. Because every time she told someone she loved them they broke her heart even her own parents. Cupid is so cute and sweet and needs Raine's help to find out who is miss-matching his love matches. Several have been mulled and one is dead. When Raine and Jordan entered Cupids business The receptionist gave her a chocolate. All very sweet. Upon arriving home Raine went to bed. The next morning when Sam came in for breakfast he wanted to know what that delicious smell was. Sam finally found it in Raine's pocket. Raine to Sam it's only chocolate and you don't like chocolate. Sam said nooo, what's inside the chocolate so Raine took a bite. Soon she was giggly and began floating in the air. Slade came in and couldn't believe his eye's he thought Raine had gotten her powers. Sadly Sam told him that it happened when she took a bit of the candy. Slade took a smell of it and then tried to pull Raine out of the air. While he was holding her down Jordan came in and began to chase Slade around the living room and the furniture. Finally Slade had to use magic to keep Jordan in one spot to get his attention up on Raine. Jordan didn't know what was going on. Raine was giggling and rolling over and over until she felt sick and asked Jordan to bring her down. Jordan had to go to work. Slade said he could figure out what the candy was. So slade put Rain in bed and had to wrap her up tight and tuck the bedding in between the mattresses to keep her in place. When Raine woke Sam was asleep in front of her door and Slade on her couch. Jordan came in and they took off for Cupids and collard the receptionist as Aphrodite. Unable to handle the Goddess they kept talking to her. Suddenly the Goddess Hera showed up and sent her home where she would remain and be punished as Hera and Zeus had tried to find her for about a decade. Hera looked at Jordan and told him , you know what you have to do don't you. He replied with a yes. Then she lifted Raine's chin and looked in her eyes and said, only true love can help unlock it. Then she disappeared. Jasper was so angry as he was always trying to harass Raine and catch her at anything so he could take her in. When Raine finally arrived home she saw the black Guardians' SUV at her apartment. Raine ran up stairs and in through the door. There she screamed at Jasper to let Sam go. Jasper had him in a cage. She grabbed a bunch of roses and pointed them at Jasper. He didn't know that Slade had magicked them for her protection. AS Raine pointed the roses towards Jasper's heart she yelled GO to him and he flew right through her 2nd story window. Just before he hit the ground another guard caught him. Rain let Sam out and he said, you really do love me mommy. Raine was terrified about what would happen. She knew Jasper would haul her off and lock her up. Pick up a copy of this wonderful, colorful and fantastic book. I was given a copy for an honest review.
