A book that brings to the Christian's consciousness the need for preserving God's Word, and the historical account points to the King James translation as being the one that has done this best, whereas the New International Version (NIV) and other modern translations have taken away from God's Word through either omissions or even slight distortions that could lead the believer to question the authority of Scripture. A passage that I found striking is the following:
" In summing up, let it be impressed upon our conscience that the success of any Christian movement will always be directly dependent upon its attitude toward Scripture. When the discipled are weak, it is because their ministers are weak, it is because their denomination, theological schools, and resources are weak. When the denomination, theological schools, and resources are weak, it is because there is longer any faith in the "inerrancy" of Scripture."
