It took me a few chapters to really get into the book. But once it hooked me I was in for the long haul. I really liked that this wasn't an insta-love story. There was a good amount of relationship building between Wesley and Noah. It was fun to see them flounder around a bit while trying to navigate work and starting a fling (which was what they thought they wanted anyway). I liked that Wesley not being in contact with others of his species was cautious about his secret. That Noah was so accommodating for the situation he was kind of thrust into.
I liked the take the author took with the mpreg and the differentiation dragons and dragon shifters. The discrimination some shifters had against humans was interesting to see.
I think the only issue I had was with the first time Wesley and Noah got intimate. There wasn't much prep on Wesley's part and the thought of saliva to help guide the way made me squirm a little.
This one has it all: dragons, mpreg, and a wedding. This is the best book for Larkin so far. The way the pregnancy was detailed was really great--although I rolled my eyes at the ER doctor giving a man a pregnancy test just for nausea. The dragon wedding and funeral traditions were unique and cool. I also liked that the narrative voices were more distinctive than in other Larkin books; each of the MC's seemed to have their own speech and personality. I don't particularly care for his convention of the child's rapid growth and development; there's no way that humans wouldn't notice that. I also thought it was weird that his mother never met Wesley (and presumably the baby) until the wedding. I can't believe that they would go that long without a visit. These were just small picky things in a book that was highly enjoyable overall. Great job Kellan!
Details... this story was sadly lacking in research and the basic details...
Unprotected sex... can mean pregnancy for women why did Noah think that things should be different for him? He was lucky that it wasn't the loss of his life that he was dealing with... unprotected sex... and the issue wasn't ever addressed... grrrr! :(
Noah goes home immediately following a C-section... no signing of papers... no birth certificate info... Feedings? How to feed the baby wasn't even discussed (I am assuming that Noah wasn't planning on breast feeding! hehehe) and where is the car seat for the baby? Details... ugh!!!
Tamara from Settle? Abigail is the one from the group of dragon shifters that Westley met in Settle who was judgmental about human's having dragon shifter babies, not Tamara.
In one instance, Noah's name was used instead of Westley's...
This wasn't a good first impression for me, but I am sure that I will move on with this series at some point... just to see if things actually improve on the writing front! ;p
Normally, I don't leave reviews or these generic shifter romances. They usually follow the same premise and there isn't much difference from one to another. This one is the like all the others, generic, read before. So why am I writing this review? Because after reading I was dissatisfied and actually a bit annoyed.
When I first starting reading, Noah's first chapter irritated me. It was his narration. The way he reacted like an airheaded teenager in his very first lines. Then when he became pregnant, it was his attitude that annoyed me. He fears Wesley because he's a dragon, he wants to go back to his parent's house so they can help him instead of letting the completely willing and eager Wesley help him. He wants to be independent and still have a job but he resents Wesley and the baby. This is the main conflict in the story. Noah only thinks about himself.
It isn't even properly shown, but there were so many things I was concerned about that only Noah's problems ever mattered in the story. I was worried about the Dragon community and how they would react to Noah being a human. I worried that Noah would keep Wesley out of the baby's life when Wesley has been aching for a mate and family. I worried that other humans might find out what was happening to Noah and then the shifters would be in danger.
Nope. Instead, Noah just changes his mind whenever it is Wesley's chapters and he has progressed as a character for some reason. He suddenly loves Wesley and is willing to live with him. He decides to leave his job and become an activist (so he will be relying on Wesley for financial support, the thing he didn't want to do). The other dragon shifters just accept Noah, there are no problems on that front. None of the humans notice anything because they just never notice things like that. All those tiny little problems wrapped up as if they were never problems to begin with.
And the most annoying thing to me was Noah and his job. I kept comparing Noah's pregnancy to a woman's pregnancy on the job. All the fear's Noah has about job are the same one's that working women face. They fear that their budding careers won't be there for them when they come back, or they fear that people will look down on them for getting pregnant, or not putting their jobs first. Noah is actually maybe threatened that he won't work when he comes back. But then he just leaves his job and all those problems go away. This is a real issue that women face, but it is used as a small drama to add to the flavor of the story and throw away.
I read a lot of shifter/Mpreg books. Usually none of them bother me because they always use a fantasy solution. Many of them leave their jobs and join shifter society/are already part of shifter society, or they have magically short pregnancies and can work again quickly, or some other solution. This book instead stays rather human, though the pregnancy is very short relative to a normal human one. The solution to something many working women face? Just marry a rich guy and let him support you while you look for another (and probably non-paying) job. I sort of can't believe there was actually a moment that Noah considered remaining independent (while simultaneously remembering his mother relying on his father and considering to live with her after the child was born).
This book is probably fine to read for anyone who doesn't care about all that I've mentioned. It bothered me, so I wrote the review.
This is my first book by this author and I found i really enjoyed this story, The story moves a long nicely and doesn't go over board with details, I loved it. I will be reading more from this author.
Mpreg! Dragon shifters! Office Romance! These are things drew me in to read this story.
Wesley is a wealthy dragon shifter. He has worked long and hard building his empire(his hoard). No longer is is a cave filled with jewels and valuables. It's all about money and that is what Wesley has. What he longs for(his dragon side longs for) is a mate. His parents died young and he doesn't know any other dragon shifters. So he is winging it.
Then he meets Noah. Noah works for another company that Wesley is working with on a project. Instantly attracted to him he isn't sure what to do. Since this is a work setting and he doesn't want to overstep the line. At least he got some morals.
Noah walks in with his boss to work on a project with another company and sees the CEO of it. And hot damn, he's a hottie.
They both try to figure out how to approach one another (but it's hard because of professional relationships). Finally, there is a moment and it cracks. The sparks fly, they have sex!
Then Wesley kind of have to leaves for a little bit, unbeknownst to him, his human is pregnant. But he is finally thrown into a different world .
But he has to tell Noah that he's pregnant and he's a dragon shifter. Surprise! There are some prejudices about their relationship but they are both happy.
This was such a fun read! Well, it's no secret that I really love dragon shifters and who knows, maybe that made me a little bias, but omg, I loved every second of this book.
Just a few little things made me a little angry with Noah, but it's mostly stupid little things that's more ME than the book, I think.
But in the end, I really liked how the characters were with each other. It felt ...well.. as real as it could be. lol
If you're a fan of mpreg & dragon shifters you should definitely check it out~

I really enjoyed this book. I have to admit it was a little difficult to get over the fact of a man being pregnant...but hey, I could work with that! Lol
Wesley is a very wealthy dragon shifter who is basically alone. He meets Noah, a human, through some business his company is doing with the place Noah works. Wesley is immediately drawn to Noah. This is the first time in his life that he has had these feelings. He welcomes them and wants to see where things can go between them. One night of sex between the two leaves Noah pregnant. He is struggling to come to terms with this new revelation that men can be pregnant. Wesley is contacted by a lawyer in regards to his uncle passing away and the will. He agrees to go to the funeral where he meets other dragon shifters and realizes he isn't really as alone as he thought. Can Wesley handle a new relationship with his dragon family and make things work with Noah and their soon to be child? Or is this to much for him?
review coming soon for the moment some thoughts: the book was good there was little/no angst but it didnt feel like a shifter story, i Knew they were shifter just bcs the author said so and wrote some scenes, but the focus wasnt on this was on the love story and I like them together also if the fact that he goes back home a few hours after he gave birth with a C-section was absurd... anyway not bad, and Wesley was really sweet/romantic and a really good person that respected Noah and asked before taking.

Wesley is a dragon shifter and has been alone for a long time and doesn't think that he's going to find his mate. Wesley is also very wealthy. Noah meets Wesley CEO of the firm his company is working with. When these to see each other sparks fly and man does it get hot. I loved the story line and plot to this book and couldn't put it down. I wasn't disappointed and I hope that there will be a second dragon book in he works. I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
WOW what can I say. Loved the connection that Wesley and Noah had from day one and how they tried to fight their feelings. It was really Crappy how Wesley treated Noah when they were trying to deny their feelings. Liked that Wesley eventually met more dragons. Especially since they were related. But he treated Noah like crap while trying to figure things out, instead of talking to Noah.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Was kind of a let down. Over half way through the book I just got bored. There was a brief moment when I thought that the plot might go somewhere more exciting when one of the characters was confronted with a bias in the dragon shifter species against having a relationship with humans that might have been successfully into but sadly it was not. By the end of this novel I was mainly just happy that it was over.
I was excited to read this book. I don't see much romance with dragon shifters. The premise was a good idea. The author did a good job on the inner monologues.
Pros good premise decent inner monologue/angst
Cons extremely slow pace no action or excitement no chemistry; between any of the characters no passion/chemistry between the two lead characters significant moments were glossed over in one sentence
This story is great. The characters, Noah and Wesley are very endearing.. What starts out as a one night stand turns into more when Noah ends up pregnant. When truth are revealed will Noah be able to accept that Wesley is a dragon shifter... This is my first book from Kellan Larkin and I can say this author is now on my to be read list.,, i was given an arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute, quick read. Wesley and Noah were really adorable together, and made a great couple. I enjoyed seeing them grow closer, and how their relationship developed. And Baby Drew was sooo cute!! I loved seeing them get their HEA, was which perfect for them.
I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
I enjoy this book and the character development. I also like how there was a twist in the relationship, nothing to bad, but enough for them to really get to understand each other and knowing that they are meant for each other. Overall, it was a nice story to read and also give me a chance to see the other shifter in another light instead of the typically shifter that we read a lot about.
Wesley and Noah are alike more than either knows it. Wesley is alone and has been for centuries. He feels like that he will never find love.
Noah is all about work and really doesn't want to find love that is until he meets Wesley. But with the walls around Wesley's heart will Noah break thru. Will Noah know what to do when he gets a surprise.
I liked the story in this book, and liked that Noah reacted realistically to both his pregnancy and to Wesley's shifter nature. Some of the things that Wesley had from his childhood didn't make a whole lot of sense considering that he lost everything, including knowledge of other dragon shifters, as a child, but...
I wanted to like this book but I wasn't feeling any emotion with the characters....things were not explained or explained in one sentence...I felt nothing between the MC'S at all...the pregnancy was a couple of pages...nothing was explained...the concept was good but the story had no kind of action or excitement...I might continue the series but not rt now..
I loved the story of this book I couldn't believe a guy was having a baby it was really interesting and I really Loved Wesley and Noah I honestly really loved it a lot 5 stars all the way around thanks for a awesome dragon book
I liked the story but there seems as if somethings missing. I mean there was no trouble, or mischief. I would have liked just a little of that. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
I like the idea of the book in general but I didn't feel any real connection between the couple in the book it feel more like an obligation up until the very end I wanted more romance .
I have quickly fallen in love with these dragon shifter stories by this amazing author. They are fun and incredible in a realistic setting that makes them almost believable....
I liked this book. This is the second M/M mpreg shifter romance I've read and it is so much better! There are no confusing biological problems and makes perfect sense. Add a steamy romance between human and dragon shifter. It's a great story.
