Drama, drama, drama...so much for such young adults. This book had you glued to each page with all the drama. It was an interesting read and would love to know what happened to everyone in the end. Looking for closure.
Don't pick up a book by one of your favourite authors just because it is free. If it is part of a series, make sure you read the series in order.
I was confused by the characters. Too many names and I couldn't follow who was who. What I did follow was Blaydon having a sexual relationship with twins. Yep lots of men fantasise about it, only these twins are boy and girl.
Angst - Sophia, broken girl.
I need to apologise to Ker for not reading in order. I will re-read, and edit my review when I do.
Unexpected Relationships, Pregnancies, and Tragedy
The story continues for the kids of River, Sammy, & Kyra, Jasper and Derek.
This book focuses on Blaydon, Sophie and Quinn (the twins).
Blaydon has been dipping his P into both with tragic consequences.
Sophie has a case of serious depression due to a three way at a party she can’t remember. This leaves her wallowing in self hate and shame, where she becomes withdrawn. She spends her days having suicidal thought, while writing agonisingly morose poems.
Blaydon try’s desperately to help her, which leads him to the realisation that he loves her stronger than he loves Quinn. So he breaks things off with him.
However, Quinn wasn’t aware that Blaydon was also sleeping with his sister. This leads to a night where all suffer a major tragedy that effects all the families.
Meanwhile, DJ is still dealing with the Terrie’s unexpected pregnancy. She is the GF of his older brother Mikey’s best friend, Adam so the s**t is sure to hit the fan once THAT news comes to the families.
Then towards the end of the book we get a glimpse into the unrequited love Mya feels for the grieving tattooed Adam, and the early stages of a blossoming relationship between DJ and the nerdy Jillian.
I found this book more enjoyable than its predecessor. Why? This might sound a bit morbid but, finally something incredible sad happened. Up until now, yeah there had been drama but, it all got resolved and everybody was more, or less happy all the time.
So yeah, I was interested because things in life are not always all HEA’s. And unicorns. Good to see them having to deal with a tragedy that Derek, or Sammy, or Jasper, couldn’t put right for a change. **** .
So much drama and angst in this crazy family! I can’t help but love these characters. This book really makes me want more in this series, but I don’t believe there is any more to be had! Wahhh! I’ve loved The Broken series.
If you have ever read a book by the amazing and very talented Ker Dukey you know you will be on a never ending emotional roller coaster ride of your life. Know one can do a forbidden love triangle full of emotions, shocks, and so much drama like Ker. I must say this has to be one of my favorite series from Ker so many twists yet everything just comes together the way it should be, If you have not read this series yet do your self a favor and read it now. I really hope we don't have to wait to long for me and even if they were not the leads Derek and Jasper are still my favorite men from the whole series
Another twisted ride into the extremely delightful screwed up Forever family
Loved it so much. I would love to have more of Mya and Adam's story next! This family is so addicting and always leaves me hungry for more. I am in live with each of the characters, as they all have their own struggles to bear! Ker keeps the drama and suspense alive and well with yet more twisted webs of desire and sinful lust!
Love the families in this series. Love the way that Ker writes books the way she wants, if she's going to challenge social norms she does it, if she has to break your heart then break it she will, if you have to die she'll kill you. She's an all in kind of author and though this is a quick read there is no let up in the action.
The Broken Series was the first of the books I read for Ker and this Novella is just perfect.
Wow what a roller coaster of a Ride... Fast paced quick read, But How Ker manages to fit it all in a Novella I never know, but this has a bit of everything in it, I really can't wait for the next in the series.
I love love love the broken series and will hoover up anything that Ker releases from this series. I really enjoyed this novella but just wished they were full length novels that delved much deeper into these characters and story so that you could really get your teeth into it. Looking forward to the next novella and my vote goes to DJ.
Ker Dukey's books never fail me. The Broken series is one of my top 5 favourite series and this novella is the latest addition. Teen angst, complicated love affairs and then something tragic happens. I love it all! Ker, can we have DJ and Jillian's story next please?
I think I have whiplash!!!! How can so much happen in a novella!!! Ker Dukey you kept me on my toes here!! A brilliant addition to the broken series.....I can't wait for more
Well as always Ker has written an amazing novella. If you loved the broken series as much as I do this story really is amazing . If you haven't read The Broken you better get started soon...
“Trapped inside the prison of my mind even when I’m awoken, I’m wrong, ugly, damaged. Can’t you see that I’m broken ? I hated myself; I hated what I’d done. Every time I look in the mirror I hate the reflection looking back at me. It was more than just that night; deep down I know that, it was the reason that night even happened. The night I gave away my virginity and don’t even remember it happening. Ever since I can remember I’ve never felt whole, I don’t know why… there is no real reason. I have a wonderful family, parents who would do anything to ensure my happiness, yet there was something missing inside me that no one could complete, or fill.” Sophia is Quinn’s twin sister and also Arya and DJ´s sister, all children of Jasper, Derek and Kira. And she suffers from depression without her friends or her family knowing.
Sophia is in a relationship with Blaydon( best friend of DJ, son of River and Sammy, bests friends of her parents)even knowing that he also has a relationship with her brother Quinn. “And now I was caught up in a situation that could hurt people I loved. Quinn… Blaydon.” “Things had changed between Blaydon and me ever since the night I walked into the cinema room to see him and my brother Quinn making out. I almost lost my breath and dropped the glass I was holding. I had no idea Blaydon liked boys. Quinn had always been open with me about his sexual preference, but Blaydon was known for liking girls, lots and lots of girls. So a week later I made it so Blaydon and me were alone together, and I made my move. He was reluctant at first but I could be persuasive. He cracked when I took off my shirt, braless underneath. He was gentle and treated me like I would break. It was nice and I liked how I felt when he touched me, so I craved more of it, despite knowing he gave the same thing to my brother.”
Blaydon is a mess, he loves both twins, he is afraid that DJ find out and break their friendship and the only person who knows the truth,Jasper, presses him to break up with both. “DJ would fucking flip if he knew and it would ruin our friendship. I can’t bear to think about not having him as my best friend. We grew up inseparable. He will never forgive me if he finds out that I’m seeing both Quinn and Sophia, his twin siblings. DJ sees us all as related because of our parents’ closeness and the fact we were raised pretty much like family. He was so mad when Mikey and Arya’s relationship came to light. He doesn’t understand the pull though. The undeniable attraction that grows and blossoms between people who love each other. I loved them both, and that love manifested into more. I was going to have to end it with both of them or risk hurting everyone. But knowing you have to do something and actually doing it were two different things. They were brother and sister and that was a bond I should never have fucked with. I was a piece of shit.”
Blaydon finally clears his head and makes a decision. “When she pulled me into her I felt different to the other times more . I was in love with her, not Quinn. I loved Quinn, but not in the same way. I think I’d always known that but was too coward to admit it, with fear of hurting him.”
But in a fight Sophia tells Quinn that Blaydon has been fucking them both for a long time, and DJ listens to them. At the same time, a viral video about Sophia reaches them all and from there hell breaks loose.
From that moment I read the book in tears until I reached almost the end.
In the end we have a sneak peek of Mya and DJ. Mya is in love with Adam, who is having a baby with Terri, but the baby is not his, it’s DJ and DJ is in love with his tutor Jillian. And one night DJ confesses to Adam thinking that Mya had already told him. DRAMA IS EXPECTED,AND LOVE , AND PASSION... More Broken series please.....

Wow. What a book. This whole series I fell in love with. This book has all the emotions you want in a book. I can't wait for the next one in the series
This was another good read regarding another couple. It's a quick read. And while it closes for another couple, it leaves room for maybe future books about others.
OMG.. where do I begin.... The Broken series is one of my absolute favorite series and now to have the next generation of characters be as enthralling as the originals is an example of Ker Dukey's phenomenal storytelling. The Forever Broken Novella is mostly about Blaydon and the twins, Quinn and Sophia, be prepared their story is an emotional & gripping one. We also get to learn a little more of the other siblings and their friends, enough to leave us craving for the next book. This may be a Novella, but it is packed with a powerful raw story and poetry. Yes Poetry, heartbreakingly beautiful dark poetry written by Sophia, that allows us to feel the pain she is in. Just another example of Ker Dukey's many talents and exceptional writing!!! Keep this series coming I can never get enough!
God I'm so freaking grateful that Ker has continued with the broken series by telling the stories of their Children.. here we hear from almost all of the kids, wow!!! Such a great short read again!!! Love this series, I think it may very well be my #1 favorite series of hers :) can't say anything about the book that may give it away, it's not dark like her other reads but there is still love and drama, also you still see Sam and Casper and derrik ahhh what the heck you get a glimpse of all the main characters .. I have to say my most memorable part of the book's was blaydon walking into the house and seeing his dad having his mom for breakfast on their kitchen table, and how he will never eat there again.. haha haha!!!! Loved that scene :) happy reading
I could not wait to start the new one in the Broken series by Ker and she did not disappoint with this one at all.
We start off where we left in The Broken Tethers That Bind Us the story of Blaydon and his relationships with the twins, Quinn and Sophia. I was not sure where Ker could take this story and was worrying it would be the same old forbidden love triangle story line. Boom! This is Ker Dukey and the story is so much more, the emotions, shocks and drama's that unfold are outstanding. My emotions were shaken and my mind went into a tail spin.
Like always I loved reading about all the family and friends some that have been in the series from the very start. The ending left me shouting because Ker has so much more to tell in this series !
A lot of things happened in this short novella. Blaydon has been messing around with the twins, Quinn and Sofia, even though secretly he really only loves one of them. Neither of them know about the other and no else knows either. Until he gets caught leaving their rooms and then the secret is out.
The plot twist in this novella did shock me a bit, but overall I was happy with the way things turned out.
This story also sets up the next books in the series and there appears to be about 3 or 4 more stories to come.
Oh my god! Kerry Duke has blown my mind once again! This novella is a continuation to her broken series that is a must read! Kerry writes about all the stuff your parents never told you about while growing up wanting to make grandma Mary roll over in her grave... sex with step siblings..polygamous relationships, bisexuals, attempted suicide, date rape... the darker the writing the better the story!
This was another wonderful book from Ker!!! I'm a bit of a mess now after reading it.
This book was pretty packed for a novella with some things happening that I didn't expect. I can't get enough of the characters in this series! I can't wait to read more from not only this author, but what happens next with these characters!
The interactions between the children of from characters we've grown to love rival that of their parents. There will be twists and turns you don't see coming as well as the heartbreak that makes Ker Dukey's books so great. The ending will leave you gasping for more. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Die hard fans of Ker’s Broken series will love this novella. It's packed full of drama, surrounding the entwined lives of Sammy and River’s and Jasper, Kyra and Derek’s children. I love the continuation and learning new things about their lives.
Packed full with shocks and surprises a great addition to the series.
Fantastic!!!!! Jesus this was heartbreaking, sad, twisted, scarey, gut wrenching broken story. These kids need to get it together, the family need to rein everyone in, rebuild trust, start forgiving and learn to accept each other, love each other and become a family once again. Amazing story
omg can anythin else happen to this family i need to wait for all the kids novellas to came out cuz soon as ive read one i need the next and i gate waiting ker has done it again another great addition to the broken series
Another great story in The Broken series. These families have had their share is trauma and this story tops the others. If you've enjoyed The Broken series, don't miss this installment.
