‘Relentless’ is the perfect name for this novel. It starts with a bang – a punch to the gut – and doesn’t let up. Think of it as a mystery with deadly consequences for the murderer if he can be found. I could also describe it as an intense action/adventure with more than one twist, military men as its heroes, and a hunt for a killer that results in a breathtaking plot. I was sucked into the action from the very beginning and the fact that the main characters are two cat shifters - a jaguar and an ocelot who work for a private-sector Special Forces unit made up of former military shifter specialists contracted by the military when needed – made everything even more intriguing.

Jag, a jaguar shifter and growly loner who lost his spotter/husband to an enemy called Sandman three years ago in Afghanistan, is more than shocked when it turns out Sandman is still around despite the fact that Jag shot him. He wants immediate action, and he wants to go it alone since he can’t protect anyone who goes with him – just like he was unable to protect his husband three years ago. Letting anyone close again, even just to share a mission, is a nightmare for Jag, but his boss, a burly bear shifter, leaves him no choice. Jag has to take on a new spotter or be replaced on this mission.

Sonar is an ocelot shifter, and has been assigned to Jag as a spotter for the mission of finding and killing Sandman – again. He is not impressed by Jag’s scowls, and he does not back down when Jag tries to intimidate him. Sonar is a professional confronted with the riddle of why Jag is so driven. Between his curiosity for details and an immediate attraction to Jag, a sizzling tension develops between them that is bound to explode at some point. And when it does? Whoa, hold on to your hats!

If you like intense action/adventures with a touch of the paranormal for increased abilities, if you want to find out more about two cat shifters hunting down a seemingly superior serial killer with a cruel bent, and if you’re looking for a read that is suspenseful, intense, and very hot, then you will probably like this novel.

This book was so sweet and I really loved it!

Jag a Jaguar shifter lost his husband in the most horrible way. He is grief stricken and out for revenge against the man responsible. Jag thought he had killed him but finds out the evil man behind his husbands death never died. He is then assigned a spotter Sonar who is does not want or that is what he thinks until he meets the man. There is a attraction between these two men, but is Jag ready to move on pass his loss and can these two shifters find love together.

I want to start of this review by saying I loved the way this author Cheyenne Meadows wrote these characters. You could feel everything Jag and Sonar went through and how much they really cared about each other. I really just loved how sweet they were together and then there was the steam which was so damn hot between these two men!

You get your action with this book along with angst too! There was also some painful moments when Jag is remembering his husband and everything he went through after losing him.
You will also meet a lot of different characters which I loved! The banter between everyone was hilarious and had me laughing so much.

I would recommend this book to those who love a good shifter paranormal M/M romance book like I do!

I received a ARC of this book from the publisher for a honest review!

A very big plus for me was that at the point in the story where most books end, this one went on. We get to see the aftermath in several more chapters instead of in a few lines in an epilogue. That was surprising and very much appreciated.
If only they hadn't become so cheesy.

Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Jag thought he had his revenge for the death of his husband. Til he who Jag thought dead resurfaces. Now he has to take a new spotter, after three years working alone and Sonar is not welcome. But the jaguar in Jag and the ocelot in Sonar work well together, and once this mission is over, they will see just how well.

Is this part of a series?? I can't find it saying so, but I'm left missing...something. Not really sure what it is I am missing, but I am left with that feeling.

Oh, don't get me wrong, this is a really good book, and I really enjoyed it, I just needed something to make it a five star read and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what!

Jag's heart was broken when his husband died at his side. And since then he has been alone in his misery. Sonar brings him out of that, and Jag can't work out why HE would be the one to do it. Feelings his heart thought it would never feel again, feeling his HEAD thought long dead, rise to the fore with Sonar at his side and the little cat weighing in at 60lbs against his 300lb plus really pushes his luck!

I loved the interaction between, not only the two men, but the two cats too. Very different in size and temperament, they feed off each other, and Sonar's cheeky side comes out best as his cat. As his human half, Sonar pushes Jag far beyond that which anyone else did, not even his husband, and Jag, while surprised at first, really likes that. I did too. I loved the marked differences that Jag made between Sonar and his dead husband.

OH! And I loved the twist that took. Did not work that one out fast enough, but I loved that.

This is, as far as I can see, the first I've read by this author. I'd like to read more, something with the other men in their unit. Maybe thats what I'm missing, more about the others. I dunno, my brain is not firing on all cylinders today and maybe in a day or two I can word it better.

So, because of the missing...whatever it is...

4 solid stars.

2.5 stars

Jag didn’t want to work with another spotter, but he doesn’t have a choice. Thankfully, the new guy, an ocelot shifter named Sonar, will be more able to keep himself alive than a human would be. Jag doesn’t want to think about how his all too human husband was more fragile than he was. Jag wasn’t able to save his husband. Jag doesn’t want to give Sonar any personal information. Unfortunately, this case is highly personal, and Jag has to tell Sonar everything. Jag is somewhat taken aback by how personal this case ended up being. Jag is also somewhat taken aback by how much he’s liking working with Sonar. During the final stages of the manhunt, Jag decides he knows best how to end it. It doesn’t quite go like he planned it. Thankfully, Sonar disagreed with Jag’s plans. But the book doesn’t end there!

The thrilling climax of this story happened before the halfway point. Needless to say, I was confused. Over half of this book was Jag and Sonar wondering if they should become boyfriends and wondering who was going to ask first. It felt like two different books smashed together. I liked the first half of the story well enough. It was an entertaining, action based tale of a serial killer who got disturbingly close while no one was looking. The second half just had me wondering when the book was going to end. I kept thinking to myself the denouement should not be half of the book. It didn’t work for me. At all.

Jag has lost his spotter. That is bad enough but his spotter was also his husband. How is he supposed to move forward? Vengeance is his and he is Relentless as he hunts down the man responsible for his pain. Cheyenne Meadows does a wonderful job articulating Jag’s pain and determination. But what happens when you succeed. Where does all that focus go? I loved that Ms. Meadows attempted to answer those and other questions as Jag tried to move past his grief.
Sonar may be small but he was mighty. He refused to allow Jag to wallow. Even as he had few facts he fought for the man he was beginning to like and growing to love. He knows his presence was forced on Jag but he would not allow that to stop him from doing what is right. Jag was such a loner and his refusal to deal with his pain was out there for all to see. Ms. Meadows did not sugarcoat his pain and in fact exacerbated it as Jag’s past reared up in a gut wrenching way. I loved Sonar’s steady hand as he and Jag found their way. The journey these men took toward intimacy was unflinchingly brutal but realistic. Liking took time and loving took even longer but Ms. Meadows made the journey fit these men. Neither was gushy so the path to their happily ever after couldn’t be either.
While I enjoyed this story I will admit that at times it dragged. That being said Ms. Meadows was true to the character of these men and I enjoyed seeing them find a way to be what the other wasn’t even aware they were looking for.

Jag loses his husband and spotter to the evil “Sandman” and goes on a revenge hunting spree until he kills him. Now, three years later, the mysterious “Sandman” seems to have risen from the dead. His boss assigns Jag a new spotter, an Ocelot shifter named Sonar.

Though Jag fights tooth and nail that he doesn’t need anybody’s help, he realizes that if he’s dead, he’s no use to his mission. So, reluctantly, he takes on the new guy.

Sonar is tough as nails and not intimidated at all by his new partner, in fact, the opposite.

As the mission progresses they grow closer until – after a close call- they finally act on the smoldering sexual tension between them.

The question remains – is this a one off, or can something real and long term result from their attraction – that is if they even survive.

**
I loved this book! Loved it! Cheyenne Meadows used the shifter part of their natures and involved it in the story line. She not only drew out the sexual tension, but then let us have time with the guys as a couple.

I loved the secondary characters, the basic plot and the very sweet and sexy way the two MCs interacted. There was plenty of sex but not so much that it overwhelmed the story.

My only complaint was Mark- I didn’t understand why he wouldn’t divulge what he knew to his husband, especially while they were hunting someone who so fit the bill.

But – that’s a minor complaint.

Highly Recommened – 4.75 of 5 stars

For me, this is really two books or stories. First we have the revenge.

This is Jag and Mark’s story even though Mark, Jag’s husband, is killed in the beginning.

Jag makes it his mission for revenge to kill the man that killed Mark. And when that mission is complete, then we jump three years. We find that Jag for the last three years has been still working, but never really healed over the death. So when he finds out that the man responsible is still alive, he once again has a single focus. This time he picks up another spotter, Sonar. He’s not happy about this, because he doesn’t want to be responsible for the death of another innocent soul.

As Jag and Sonar travel around the world on a case to re-intact revenge against the man that killed Jag’s husband, they start developing a friendship/bond. One that Jag is not happy about but Sonar is thrilled about. In the end Jag gets his nemesis. And story number two starts

As Jag and Sonar make it back to the base and start the healing process, they also start the living process. In which they both find the happier side to each other. With silly antics from Sonar and protectiveness coming from Jag. Also we see Jag, thawing and healing.

We meet the other team members and see how well they all work together. The sass, and ribbing and yet the fight to the death to protect one another no matter what. All great for such a close team.

Contemporary Paranormal Romance m/m

Jag is a sniper extraordinaire besides being a jaguar shifter. He is also tasked with his most dangerous and difficult mission to date. He needs to take out the man that is responsible for the death of his husband’s, who was also his spotter, violent death. Again.

Sonar is assigned as the new spotter to the scowling, surly feline alpha. Sonar is also an ocelot shifter. He sees more beneath the surface even as he is impressed with Jag’s skills. He sees a man that is furious and grief-stricken and that is on a trail of vengeance.

Jag and Sonar together face both challenges and perils that test their resolve, skills and the budding feelings they have for each other. The heat between them rises at the same time as the death tolls. The longings they have for each other might give them the strength they need to persevere but it could also force them to succumb and sacrifice everything. The only thing that is certain is that someone won’t be making it back alive.

This is a fast paced book that starts out with a lot of action and doesn’t stop until the very end. It reads more like a short story than a full sized book and proves to be hard to put down. It will also take readers on an emotional roller coaster that keeps going until the end. It would be interesting to see this made into a series as there are so many different characters that make for a very interesting world. This is also one for the keeper shelves.

Revenge is the motivation behind this story or at least for Jag. Sonar is along for the ride.

Jag is hell bent on getting revenge for his husbands murder and thinks that it has been done or at least until it isn't. When Jag finds out that the person he believes was dead and is not Jag is determined to finish the job and Sonar is the spotter to help him complete this mission.

Jag never expected to fall in love again and definitely never in the midst of finding the revenge for his husbands death but that is what has happened. Sonar is the opposite of Jag. Jag is serious all the time and Sonar brings a light to his life that he has been missing.

The situation is a dangerous one and it may take a turn that neither man expected. One or both may not make it out alive.

I enjoyed reading this book and it has amazing potential. I really wish it had been a series because I think the story would have been best told in a least two separate books but nonetheless it was a good read.

I read the blurb so I knew. I knew it was going to likely hurt my heart a bit. Well, with the prologue I knew I was right.
This is a suspenseful story. So many close calls and some too late ones. It was deeply emotional and (it’s not a secret because it’s in the blurb) it’s shrouded with the loss of Mark, Jag’s husband. Sonar is fabulous he’s everything Jag needs and the second we meet him you know. He’s what Jag needs to keep his sanity while hunting Sandman!
These two were hot and heavy and the chemistry was perfect. I like the plot and the suspense a lot. There was mystery and intrigue and in the end, relief! Was it all worth it? I don’t know about that. The forever scars left behind for poor Jag hopefully won’t haunt him but even with the ending it felt haunted. It could just be me and it’s not a bad thing, it’s just how I felt.
This will keep you on the edge of your seat no doubt about it. But there’s love, lust, insane madmen, and snarly shifters.
Exciting read.

A bit unsure how to make of this book. On the one side the shinanigans were rather entertaining. On the other hand it didn't mesh well with that soldiery special squad type the story brought up.

The start was promising with the tragedy and then the hunting of a killer. Alas, after being "forced" to follow the clues Amazing Race style, the pursuit came to a close in a not so impressive way. The rest literary plunged the story for me (there were unresolved "mystery" surrounding the villain that was left hanging; how it turned the MCs sappy; and steamy marathon that had me basically skimming the page).

I'm not sure if this book's supposed to be a start of a series or whatever. There's certainly room to play, shall there be a sequel - like tackling the unresolved issue I mentioned earlier.

This title was originally reviewed for Prism Book Alliance®

I will admit I wasn't expecting a whole lot going into my reading of Relentless by Cheyenne Meadows. My experience with the author's work has been a mixed bag. I will say, however, that I was pleasantly surprised by Relentless. It had it's scenes that could use improvement, but for the most part is kept me engrossed.

It was ok. Could've just been my mood. Seemed repetative and sappy so I really do think it was more me than the book :)
