United by their love and events a thousand years in the making, Dearra and Darius abandon the safety of their island home and set out to rescue one little boy from an enemy whose name is synonymous with cruelty and pain.
In a world of danger, treachery, and deception, they are aided by Dearra’s magical companion, Brin, as well as new and powerful allies, straight out of legend.
Dark secrets are revealed, and there is one, last, desperate chance to heal the wounds of history, as the past collides with the present.
When chaos surrounds them, they discover that, sometimes, the loudest sound comes disguised as a whisper.

The continuing saga of Dearra, Darius and Brin. This book cleared up a few things from the first, in the fact that each book is actually a story being told by Brin the dragon, trapped in the sword Dearra possesses. Now with that clear, Whisper picks up with Maj warriors going to the land of the Breken to rescue Pip, Dearra's brother, who had been kidnapped after the Breken invaded Maj. Carly, Dearra's best friend and Maj's negotiator is along to hopefully negotiate the release of Pip. Carly has always been smaller than most of the folks on Maj, for no real understanding but her negotiating skills have placed her in a position of authority among the Maj people.
Without giving away too many spoilers, Carly discovers her heritage, Dearra and Darius discover their connection and a love tryst between Carly and Daniel the weapons Master unfolds. We also get a very clear picture painted of the brutality of the Breken people. The story is well written and keeps you turning the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed the read, now that I better understand the way in which Grey is leading the series. There are fascinating characters and Grey is very adept with her descriptions not only of the characters but of the scenery as well. I am also very appreciative of the way Grey ends each book, not leaving you hanging in the wind. The epilogue is the segue to the next book, another story told by Brin the dragon. I highly recommend this read.

I loved this book "Whisper" from The Destiny Series Book 2. This is not my usual genre type of book but it caught my attention right off. So much so that in the middle of the night I had to download this book. The Characters are well described and continue on in the adventure of danger, treachery, and deception. Chaos happens but all it takes is just a whisper to change things. This book has a steady pace and will keep you the reader engaged. Find out what happens next to Dearra and Darius in their quest. Everything about Khan, the prince horse, is my favorite part. Every character is important and valuable, it shows in how deep the relationships between the characters are. All the surprises kept me wanting more. "Face-mashing" is my new favorite word. Thank you for the laughs, the tears, and joys you've brought to me with this book.

Very good story of many stories

I have really enjoyed the first two books of this series. When I finish each volume I enjoy sitting back and thinking through each story thread to relish the richness of each one. If you like epic romance, strong families and tales of fantasy and daring deeds, you will enjoy this series.

DNF at 22%

For some reason I found I was forcing myself to read through the first several chapters. I just couldn't get into to story enough to keep me interested. I found myself annoyed with Dearra quite a bit so I gave up and stopped 22% of the way in

Excellent

Book 2 is as good as book 1. It did seem to drag on it places, but again a fantastic story!
