Here's a short, easy-to-digest introduction to watercolors. Specifically designed for beginners. And when it says "Beginners", it means BEGINNERS. Covers a bit about basic materials and techniques and a bit about color mixing.

But most of the book is laid out with step-by-step instructions on how to paint specific things -- moving from the simple to more complex. Like fruits, vegetables, skies, trees, animals, etc.

The book is under 100 pages and you can read it in about an hour (mostly pictures, light on text). Then you can begin working on the exercises. A nice introduction.

Excellent home course in learning the basics and foundations of watercolour painting. I find my confidence in the subject to be increased exponentially since reading this book and following the lessons and instructions. Highly recommend for anyone interested in watercolour painting but not certain where to begin.

I can't really comment on this, because it made painting seem like this very basic, easy thing. Just because I couldn't get past the painting-fruit level, I don't blame the book for that!
