UNDECLARED
For four years, Grace Sullivan wrote to a Marine she never met, and fell in love. But when his deployment ended, so did the letters…Noah has always known exactly what he wants out of life. Success. Stability. Control. That’s why he joined the Marines and that’s why he’s fighting his way — literally — through college. Now that he’s got the rest of his life on track, he has one last conquest: Grace Sullivan. But since he was the one who stopped writing, he knows that winning her back will be his biggest battle yet.
UNSPOKEN
AnnMarie Sullivan made one mistake in her freshman year and her entire college existence became tainted by it. Guys labeled her as easy and girls shied away. To cope, AnnMarie stayed away from Central social life and away from Central men until Bo Randolph storms into her life. Bo allows instinct to rule his behavior. If it feels good, do it, has been his motto. AnnMarie is everything he didn’t realize he wanted. He knows he should walk away, but he just can’t.
UNRAVELED
Twenty-five-year-old Sgt. Gray Phillips is at a crossroads in his life: stay in the Marine Corps or get out and learn to be a civilian? He’s got forty-five days of leave to make up his mind but the people in his life aren’t making the decision any easier. His dad wants him to get out; his grandfather wants him to stay in. And his growing feelings for Sam Anderson are wreaking havoc with his heart…and his mind. He believes relationships get ruined when a Marine goes on deployment. So now he’s got an even harder decision to make: take a chance on Sam or leave love behind and give his all to the Marines.
UNREQUITED
Winter Donovan loves two things: her sister and her sister's ex boyfriend. She's spent her whole life doing the right thing except that one time, that night when Finn O'Malley looked hollowed out by his father's death. Then she did something very wrong that felt terribly right. Finn can't stop thinking about Winter and the night and he'll do anything to make her a permanent part of his life, even if it means separating Winter from the only family she has. Their love was supposed to be unrequited but one grief stricken guy and one girl with too big of a heart results in disastrous consequences.
**Also includes the bonus epilogue for UNSPOKEN along with a preview of THE CHARLOTTE CHRONICLES—a spin off of the Woodlands series.
UNDECLARED: So when the male lead is a HOT marine man, who MMA fights you know you're gonna have a good time reading the book! Of course Noah does have issues (but name one man who doesn't) "was I supposed to show up at her door with my rucksack and say. 'I'm a effing mess. I can't sleep. I jump at loud noises. I'm likely to strangle your cat if you have one." If you strangled my cat Noah not matter how much I love you I'd effing kill you that cat is my damn world! He's also not a very patient person when it comes to Grace, "I've been waiting for you to call me." Impatience was etched on his face." He can be the perfect gentleman is you allow him to be, "not while I'm around." His previously non-existent southern accent showed up as he drawled the last part. "My momma would be turning over in her grave if I let a woman touch a doorknob." He's also very funny when he lets loose, "is that your kink? I haven't had a girl ever call me Daddy before, but I'm open-minded." Bo, Noah's best friend is a total goof that you can't help but love, "I think you're supposed to take your girlfriend to an erotic film, not your best male friend," Bo commented. "Unless you're trying to tell me something, in which case I have to tell you that I'm flattered, but I play for the other team." Noah can be possessive when it comes to Grace and it's kinda cute, "I wanted to mark her, but I knew I probably shouldn't do that in public." Needless to say I loved the book and I'm ready for Bo's story.
UNSPOKEN: I'm so excited it's Bo's turn!!! I loved that boy in the first bookie and I loved him even now in this one! S*** I just love his smarta**, "that would be the correct composition of individuals making up the 'we' in my sentence." I love how his mind works as well, "I once saw some dude tromping in the snow wearing shorts and boots and wanted to go punch him in the face." I mean he's kind of possessive and gets jealous when he thinks a shirt belonged to some other guy and AM wears them, "as long as it didn't belong to some other guy." I mean Bo like Noah is a damn fine looker ladies, "the door opened immediately, and I stumbled back a minute at the sight of Bo without his shirt on and his jeans unbuttoned and unzipped." He's a manly man, and you know how those work out ladies to stubborn to ask for anything, "asking for help is a woman's thing," Bo said, ducking my point. "We don't ask for directions, and we don't need help opening bottles." He's not ashamed to how his body reacts to AM's, "following my gaze, he looked down and then up to grin unrepentantly at me. Spreading his arms, he said, "what can I say? You turn me on." He's not embarrassed at all about his feelings toward the girl, "Christ, AM, I'm not embarrassed to be sleeping with you." I threw our bags onto one bed. "I'm damn proud of it. Plus everyone's going to hear you scream with pleasure tonight anyway." Nope not ashamed at all. I want Finn's story next.
UNRAVELED: I love this series hard core and I've missed Bo, "can't help that my di**'s so big my regulation pants couldn't keep it in." But I think Gray may have earned my heart, actually I think Bo and him and still arguing for a spot there, but Gray, yum, yum, "I got you, baby," he growled against my mouth. Just let go." After just meeting Sam it's apparent that Gray doesn't want others ogling what's going to be his, "I didn't want to take her outside where there were other people - other men- who would look at her and want her." Gray he's a man well sculpted and doesn't mind if his woman goes a little overboard in the touches, "like that, baby." he grated out between clenched teeth. When my nails curled into his chest he encouraged me. "Make your mark, kitten." Sometimes Gray's little friend down under needs consoling, "I'm sorry," I told my di**. "But hand in there, someday we're raw dogging her until we both can't see straight." Sometimes Gray has issues and isn't sure which to do first, "I'm pi**ed off because I can't figure out how to lick your pu**y and get my di** into you at the same time." This one is another must get in paperback.
UNREQUITED: Finn that boy doesn't mince his words, "you’ve grown into a very beautiful woman. I’d very much like to take you inside the trailer and eff you up against the wall." There was one conversation Finn and his lady had that had me cracking up: As I held him in my hands, it seemed to grow longer, wider. "Is it me, or are you getting longer?" "Baby, he's never been subject to such an amazing inspection. I think he's showing off for you." "I like that." "He likes you. It's a mutual admiration society . He'd really like it if you squeezed him— hard." Finn doesn't mind sharing his dirty secrets, "I do. When I'm not with you, I don't shower or shave. I scratch my balls and fart." I tickled her. "Is that scary enough?" I loved it when our boy was playful, "I'm okay with the tying up." I rose from the bed, reached over and slung her over my shoulder. "Not sure about the whipping ." I gave her sweet a** a swat, and she yelped." As usual I enjoyed Jen's book I love the Woodlands series and I can't wait for more.
Undeclared - 4 stars This is the story of Noah and Grace. They started writing while Noah was in the service and she was in high school. They wrote for 4 years, but right before he got out...he broke her heart and broke it off. Fast forward 2 years and Noah is in college with Grace now and trying to win her back. Uh, I don’t think so, she was just so insecure anyways and that didn’t help any. Breaks her heart and then wants her back *shakes head*. I wasn’t really crazy about Noah or Grace, but at least with Grace I understood where she was coming from after the way he treated her, and she is quite a bit younger than he is, so I felt she was acting her age. The whole book was really their push and pull. Not really my thing, but it was well written, just draws you right in. Plus, I don’t like tome apart, always gets me when the couple are really in love. She was a virgin and it didn’t seem like he had been with anyone during their separation, so I thought it was safeish, they were steamy too, no om or ow drama, with an epilogue and they do get an hea.
Unspoken - 5 stars Bo, Bo, Bo, Bo....love me some yummy Bo, he is definitely my favorite. Bo and AnnMarie meet in a college class and he is instantly smitten and she is equally lusty. AnnMarie has been bullied since her freshman year by the lacrosse team, they are absolutely horrible to her. I can’t even believe the crap she puts up with, it’s unbelievable. Bo is Noah’s bestie and in my opinion a great guy. He was a manwhore, but that all stops once he meets her. Because of what she’s been through, he’s very considerate of her and her feelings. Plus she refers to him as Thor....enough said, dibs. These two were so damn hot, they were burning up my damn kindle, I loved his alpha protectiveness and that he was flawed and had his own issues. I also really loved her friends and their protectiveness too...great friends. We get to see some of our favorite characters from book one, a safe read, no om or ow drama, just some typical drama and of course the horrible bullying...psst, Bo handles that *winks*, a lot of laughter, two great epilogues and an awesome hea. Dibs on my hubba, hubba hunk of man meat Bo....yes, I used hubba, hubba hunk of man meat...you’re welcome.
Unraveled - 2.5 stars This was Gray and Sam. Gray is a friend of Bo and Noah’s that was in the service with them. Sam is a young widow that lost her husband in the military. Starts out pretty good, these two have instant chemistry and make out against the wall of the bar she works at. Then he sees her wedding ring and goes a little crazy on her, I understood, but he should have looked first...just sayin. Later he finds out she’s widowed. He blows up a couple of irrational times after that and then one of his friends, well not really a friend, goes way to far and just pushed me over my line. She’s a genuinely sweet person and I got sick of reading her taking his crap. I get he has his own issues, but she was really struggling and trying to move on, but I felt he just kept knocking her down...and she kept coming back to him. I just wasn’t a Gray fan at all, being mean to Sam is the equivalent of kicking puppies....and damn it, I freaking love puppies. She’s always making the big gestures and he’s just there. Even at the end when she goes to him, she has a roommate that isn’t him. Picks ip and leaves her family for him. I just was not a Gray fan...not even a little bit and I felt after everything Sam had been through, that she deserved way better. This actually was a safe read, some really sad parts, no om drama, but a little ow drama, too much couple drama, at least I got to read a lot of my man Bo, an epilogue and a hea.
Unrequited I didn’t read this one, sorry. Finn was with his ex-girlfriends sister...which implies he and the ex had spent quite a bit of time together....so, I’m out. Sorry, not my thing.
I absolutely loved this series! I fell in love with all of the extremely admirable, albeit flawed, couples, and was hooked on the exemplary storytelling of Jen Fredericks. Her books reflect the fledgling maturity, burgeoning sexuality, and high octane emotional vulnerability of college age adults who are confronting their future through trial and error. Frederick has the unique ability to express the emotional vulnerabilities of her characters while also showcasing their strengths, especially with her male characters, many of whom have served in the military. I appreciated their high ideals, their dedication to their physical conditioning, their dirty talk, and their Alpha take charge attitude. Her female characters have their own lofty goals, feisty attitudes, and sexually flirtatious personalities that make their stories compelling and it’s the entertaining and compelling interactions between the couples that I enjoyed. There’s plenty of sass, snark, flirting, male posturing, and oodles of sexual shenanigans in this enjoyable boxed set and I highly recommend it.
